I really enjoy this game. Ads are minimal and although there's the option to pay for some puzzle packs, I've been playing for a few years and haven't spent a dime. I'd love to spend the 13,000+ coins I've accumulated on new Showcase Packs if anymore ever become available though. For now I'm just playing the daily shuffles and occasional bonus puzzles. Some of my favorites are the mystery clue puzzles for their extra challenge. I also like having the option of being able to get a small clue (or several if I need them) by watching a short ad. I keep the sound off and the ads are short so they don't bother me at all. Highly recommend this one if you enjoy word puzzles.

Great game with a whole lot of puzzles and the nice ability to create your own puzzles for friends and family. I have a small inconvenient technical issue with the game on my phone. When I contacted the support team I got a very fast and friendly response. This is one of those small family companies to be proud of. Great work and thanks to all of the team at MiniMega! Love from Belgium!

  • Almost really great Jan 4, 2019

Lots of fun and a different take on crossword puzzles, I found this game addictive enough to blaze through all the free content in under a week. Now I can only do a couple ( literally 2 ) free daily shuffles each day while I slowly acquire points to spend on puzzle packs, or buy the packs at a dollar a piece. Problem is the packs are not very large and playing through them would get expensive quick. But maybe I am just cheap. But what bothers me more than the rest of that is how community content is handled. Free daily shovels all seem to be made up of randomly selected community contributed puzzles. Furthermore, these puzzles can be rated upon completion, and I am guessing the higher rated puzzles are used more often. The problem is that the puzzles you create don’t seem to link back to your account and don’t earn any kind of reward for being highly rated. I would love to be able to earn credits towards other puzzle packs for writing good content, and that seems more than fair given how much user retention relies upon this community generated content.

Simple, yet challenging. This game is a good time buster. The hints help a lot, but it is still a little bit of a challenge to solve some of the puzzles. Especially the daily puzzles. If you couldn't tell, this game is similar in style to a crossword, but more of a jigsaw puzzle where you make words connect into strings. Give it a play! You don't be disappointed.

I love crossword puzzles so much that other puzzle games never hold my attention for too long, but I'm always looking for a bit of a change. This was the perfect novel twist on the classic crossword! I'm not a fan of games having in-game currency that you're asked to pay real money for, but there are enough free games that you can play a few every day and not pay anything for a good while. If I run out, I will probably shell out a few dollars for more.

The puzzle interface is new and addicting, and for the most part is done well. However I have two complaints. Once you get past the free levels this app charges you for each pack. A pack only gets you so far, and if you want to keep playing you will pay for it - a lot more than you expected, and a lot more than the puzzles are worth. The game feels too much like a greedy scam, and it's off-putting. My second complaint is a related one; namely that many of the puzzles are far too easy, and some are quite brief - my 4-year-old could have come up with them. In some cases they only contain three words. Especially I f I am paying for a puzzle pack, I don't want to get garbage in exchange. The game is medium-fun, but it should have been sold at $1.99 - for all the content. I am disillusioned and disappointed in the New York Times for this.

Don't waste your time unless you want to spend money. You only get 3 levels free. It was a fun and at time challenging game but it's getting deleted now. It should be clear upfront that you have to pay to keep playing.

  • Please respect our silent settings Jul 28, 2019

I love this game. I’ve been playing for years BUT I can only play when I know it’s ok for my phone to make noise. Even when my phone is set to silent, your advertisements often make noise - and not just soft noise - by the time I can locate the mute icon, it is too late. The damage has already been done. I would think that your advertisers would want us to play the game more so that we will see more ads. If the ads make noise, we play the game less. Please respect our silent settings. I would give this app a 5 star review if not for the inability to set the ads to silent before they play.

This application is a quirky puzzle game that enhances the word games into a new level of creativity, complexity and possibility. This is a must have to comply with either daily use with the daily puzzle and the campaign for hardcore gamers. There are still regions that need upgrades like the sound and user-friendliness but all-in-all, it is a must have game to try.

  • Great Game - possible improvements Jul 3, 2018

    By sm122333
I’ve been playing this game for a few months now, and really enjoy it. I do have a few ideas for improvements. 1. Right now when you complete a puzzle the screen quickly changes to a zoomed out view and the request to watch a video or play another daily shuffle pops up. This prevents the player from being able to see the completed puzzle in detail. Sometimes I struggle with the last word and am just trying various combinations. The screen changes so fast I don’t even know what that last word was. 2 It May not be worth the effort, but being able to type in a letter and have all of those letters throughout the screen light up would be helpful and keep the eyes from crossing.

  • the jumbos make it finally hard enough to be fun Sep 2, 2018

    By arblgrv
I liked this game when it started, but it had some flaws. There were way too many easy puzzles and no way to know if the puzzle you chose was a three word or a twelve word type. Too many puzzles had repetitive subjects as well, and many of them (like ‘breakfast’ or ‘beach’ or ‘periodic table’) share the same answers. So for me, it was boring and rather pointless to play the game for a while. Then they introduced the jumbo puzzles and suddenly it’s fun again. There are lots more pieces to work with and the answers are more interesting. I do wish the packs were less expensive, though.

Enjoy this game a lot, and have had it for some time now. My one qualm would be the free hint option - it's fair to have us watch an ad for a freebie, but some of them seem excessively long. Otherwise, fun game, and one I recommend.

Some puzzles were nicely challenging in choice of words and placement. They were worth the time. Others were very simple, either simple words, simple placement, or too short. When there's an obvious theme and a small number of choices, it's just about speed. Many of these in the "packs." Worth the free download. 15 sec ads OK;. Longer ones not so much!

  • Nice on many levels, just one annoying flaw Dec 11, 2017

    By ArtiSun99
I like this game. It's well designed, has no annoying pop ups or ads that intrude on your play. I even like the music, which is more than I can say about any other game I've ever played. The game itself is basic but can be challenging as well. It had only one flaw, but it's a big one. I've played this game for many hours, but I'm about ready to throw my phone across the room because the background moves the same way the pieces move. What I mean is that you use one finger to move the (teeny tiny, on a phone screen) word fragments around, but the whole screen also moves with only one finger. So when you mean to reach for a word, you often end up moving the whole board. It's maddening and entirely unnecessary. Simply make the background adjustable with two fingers rather than one. I mean, who thought this was a good design? Please fix this intensely irritating flaw.

A really good game. but the in app spend although not too expensive cost wise but should be easier to earn coins or points to use those instead. I prefer to buy a game up front rather than having to keep spending on it

  • Loved this game until recently Jul 15, 2019

I’ve been playing Bonza for a couple of years and I love the game. Unfortunately, there must have bugs with the last update. I do occasionally get stuck and need a hint. Lately, the game locks when you press hint. Instead of getting an ad, you get a blank screen which is impossible to get rid of unless you reboot the game. It is most frustrating. Today it happened on the same word three times. It was the. That I decided to write a review in the hopes that someone would read it and fix the bugs.
