Keeping your blood pressure lower than 120/80 is ideal for optimal heart health. SmartBP helps you to log all of your readings so you can work on meeting these health goals.

Ideally, your blood pressure should be between 90/60mmHg and 120/80mmHg. If you eat too many fatty foods, it is likely to be higher. The best way to fix this is to monitor your food intake - and keep an eye on your blood pressure. This is perhaps the most comprehensive app made for this purpose.

I love this app. I just purchased the upgrade so i could track my wife’s data as well. A couple of things: 1. would like to be able to easily transfer data from one user to another as i forgot to go back to my user area and instead entered my data for several measurements into my wife’s data. 2. would prefer the weight data to remain the same once entered so i would not have to go back to the pinwheel each time to enter progressive data. Weight does not vary but by small amounts if at all so keeping it at the previous measurement until i enter the new data would also keep the charts more accurate if i do not weigh every day. 3. would like to see some of the tags on the main screen for my user data or maybe be able to show data for all users with tags delineating whose data is whose as comparison without having to use the filters. Overall i like this user friendly functionality. Terrific job !!!

Would love to see all measurements on one chart. While weight is tracked & charted, it could be highlighted when target is met. Irritating BUG. After tapping past 12 months x 50 years, the app did not save my entry. Impossible to enter birthdate: month, day, year. I like the stats that tell percentage of time spend at each level, i.e. 25% pre-hypertension, and 75% normal. Good info on Limits. And you can change those limits to fit your health need.

I wrote the following review for SmartBP v6.6.1: “….and STILL NO Landscape Mode! Some of us use more than just our “Phone” …. It’s WAY past time for this app to recognize both Portrait and Landscape modes - a feature that’s been in mobile devices for years now.” At that time I was told this was a recognized change and would be in the next software release. A year later and now SmartBP 6.9.1 and STILL NO Landscape Mode for iPad devices. I’m beginning to wonder if my previous reviews and conversations and this software were worth the effort. It’s aggravating to have to twist and turn my device every time I want to use the software. Please get this fixed!

This app was recommended to me by my health coach, and I love it. I'm trying to keep track of my heart rate since I got sick while I'm waiting to see a specialist, and through this app I'm seeing correlations with my blood pressure and because of the notes feature, I've been able to see how one of my medications affects things. Don't know what it means, but it will be concrete data to show the doctors who often treat women differently than men when it comes to everything especially heart health.
  • Great app! Great developer response! May 30, 2019

SmartBP is being a great help to me tracking my blood pressure while I’m battling high pressure. Having the graphs and stats is encouraging when I see the downward trend. Being able to send a report to the doctor instantly is great for getting feedback from the doctor easily. I like that the limits can be modified and have changed mine (with help of my doctor) to reflect the parameters that apply for me. Great response from the developer to my questions and suggestions. You know you have a good app when the developer is working to make it better and responsive to input. I see from other posts that this developer is engaged with users and working on making the app even better!

This is my rating after having the app for just a few days. You use your own blood pressure and pulse monitoring device then record the results in the app. The app saves the results and creates charts and graphs using various colors so that you can visually see which category your blood pressure falls into (low, normal, pre-hyperension, stage 1 hypertension, and stage 2 hypertension). It also uses your results to determine your pulse pressure, mean arterial pressure, and the body mass index.
  • BEST Blood Pressure Tracking App Available! Jul 4, 2018

The SmartBP app is a clear winner! It had to be developed by medical professionals because of its intuitive, straightforward design to log vitals. This app seamlessly syncs with Apple HeathKit and many brands of blood pressure monitors. The graphical tracking screens are prefect for trending, BUT the “Stats” screens really give you important information on your blood pressure recordings in a meaningful way. SmartBP has excellent sharing ability, and can export a colorful, detailed PDF report that you can bring to your doctor! The app also allows every entry to be custom tagged, which is extremely useful for tracking medication adjustments and results. Overall a 5-Star app with a ton of great features and definitely worth the price!

Put a flashing cursor where the systolic is so I will know where to start. Slow the your your doing it wrong messages down so that I can read them before they disappear, or give Apple a message for me. I shouldn’t have to figure out how to make the device leave the messages on long enough to read them. If it is to save battery bragging rights, how much battery do they think I use trying to read a message that keeps disappearing before I can read more than a few words. Yes, I finally figured out that if I time the screen capture just right I can read it that way, but I’m an old man how coordinated am I supposed to be?

This app is extremely easy to use with beautiful display and easy to read numbers. All entry is made super easy and you can make detailed notes. Time is entered automatically. By far the best customer/ technical support ever. We decided to install the app on my wife’s phone on Sunday, for some reason we couldn’t share the app with family sharing . So I reached out to customer service not expecting an answer till Monday. I was so surprised when I checked my emails a couple of hours later. Customer service responded to my question that fast. Button line is the problem was fixed. I wish every developer was that good. Thank you.

Nice interface but buggy. I still see ads occasionally, even though I've upgraded to the ad free version (need to restart the app to clear them). The profile is difficult to set up because you can't enter a birth date -- you have to swipe backwards through the calendar, starting from today. I'm 51, which means 612 swipes. No thanks. The csv exported data includes units rather than raw numbers, which makes it impossible to do any data analysis with Excel without a lot of manual editing.

There are so many inconveniences to this app that I find it to be useless. I can find no way to add my birth date without scrolling month by month over almost 60 years. The setting to sync with devices only takes you to a website where you can buy devices. Don't bother with this app, there are many that are more functional.

Good for record keeping, could improve the export cloud options. 3/16/2020 Was a 5 star rating, went to back up today and there is now a pay wall preventing a backup. This happened without any type of notification, app and developers cannot be trusted with sensitive data.

Says it syncs with Google Fit. Has no option to do so. Update: It has an option to pull (some) data from Fit. Cannot give new data to Fit. This is not syncing. It's not even useful for the program, as it doesn't pull other data (like weight) from Fit.
  • Wonderful app but Jul 18, 2018

    By Mojukwu
Update 2: I see where to click but it takes me outside of the app (instead of staying “within the app”) to set the reminder. Is this a malfunction then? I’ve sent messages to all email contacts you provided here and to my email account). Update: Reduced star rating from 3 stars to 1. Received two developer responses that clearly showed my concern wasn’t properly read. After the first response, I emailed back reiterating my concern. This time, it took over a month for me to get a response.. the same irrelevant response as before! Each time, asking me to re-rate to 5 stars... This is a wonderful app for tracking BP, it’s user-friendly and easy to understand. The only thing that I find missing is the ability to setup reminders, within the app. Please fix or and I will rerate to the 5 stars this app would otherwise deserve. Thanks.

I love the app. But i got a new phone and cant get my previous 5 months of data on my mew phone. Also when you set up your profile birthdate, clicking backward for 12 months a year xs 46 years was a pain!
  • Jun 20, 2020

    By Steve Busby
App needs to change how to enter a birth date. Expecting some one to click back 684 times is just laziness on the developer. Syncing with Google Fit converts the entered weight to kgs, but keeps the lbs designation.
  • Ads make it useless to evaluate, adding a new value is awkward Mar 14, 2020

    By waitingforguacamole
Spiffy interface but for collecting additional values. There’s no button to clear the entry area for a new value, so you have to know to click on the systolic or diastolic value to get it to clear and set up for a new value. Beyond that, I can’t get a minute through the app before a Facebook ad overlays the screen with an open button and a close button on a 5 second timer - problem is the timer doesn’t count down and so you never get to dismiss the ad - the only solution is to force quit the app and relaunch it - at which point we get YOUR overlay asking me to upgrade. Bottom line is the app has to be usable if you want to sell an upgrade.
  • PURCHASED IN-APP FEATURES AND HAVE NEVER INSTALLED Feb 5, 2019

    By CTesoro57
This is to hopefully get the attention of support/devs as I put in 2 requests for support. I am writing this review as I purchased the ad-free version in-app for $5.99. I like the additional features, however I never got to try them. After purchasing, the app would hang on the “loading” prompt. To add salt to the wound, an ad played while I waited for nothing. I reinstalled several times to see if it would fix the issue, but it did not. Luckily, iTunes recognized that the premium version was already purchased every time I installed the app. Unfortunately the app never enabled the premium features. I would love to use this app so that I may be able to send my blood pressure data to my doctor ASAP. 1 star until this is fixed.
  • Misleading, should read the disclaimer in description. Feb 21, 2020

    By Roseyd123
This app allows you to manually “record” blood pressure. This means that if you have a BP monitor you can add the results into this app and then it keeps the data and analyzes it along with other data from apple health. The language in the description is misleading and I do take personal responsibility for purchasing the premium version with out reading down to the disclaimer but I don’t want other people to be mislead. It’s a great app for data storing and analysis, however the descriptions disclaimer should definitely be structured so that it is at the top of the apps description in order to provide a more accurate description of the functionality of the app.

Excellent BP tracker. Interface is easy to use and intuitive, plus offers tracking of variables such as timing of BP reading, body site, and body position which are important in considering inconsistencies in the readings. One of the best features for someone like me (erratic BP due to meds that can cause dangerous BP spikes) is the easy to intetpret color coding of the measurements to show where you are as to HBP severity. App provides links to health education which most Apps dont bother with. Sharing/ export options are great both for data back-up and providing BP logs to doctors. The features on the free version are very generous and ads are inconspicuous - I bought the premium version mainly to support development of a superior health tool.
  • Sync Issues Nov 25, 2020

This app was working great for me until the syncs across devices feature stopped working. Then the synch to Dropbox stopped working. Now the best I can do is send an email to myself with back up data in hopes that the app will be updated in the near future. I have paid for the app to work, now it won’t. As an active person trying to make lifestyle changes to better my health I hoped this app would stick with me for the long haul, but I may have to move on if I don’t see these functions improve in the next few days. And from my research, deleting my app and reinstalling is not the answer.

I paid the upgrade fee $5.99 plus sales tax. The ads kept coming. I sent a message to the developer and was told to reload the app. I did as told. I have an iPhone 6s. After the download completed the program said it was updated. I restarted phone, opened the app and was greeted with an ad. Google ads run at the top of the page and are always there. Other ads cover the entire screen blocking the entry page. I’ve reloaded the app 2 more times with the same results. It works ok otherwise so don’t pay anything they just take your money with.

This app works great. I love the charting and statistical features. The tagging is great for keeping track of internal and external factors affecting my BP. The only reason I rated it lower than a five is because it doesn’t sync well between my iPad and iPhone. I have many other apps where I enter data on either device and it shows up on both. This app will do it, but the sharing process is a real pain, so I rarely use it. Other than that, it’s great.

After realising that my BP was rising, I installed this app (recommended by a colleague) and am overall very pleased with it. Simple layout, easy to use and understand. The ability to print out reports to present to my GP is a great feature. I have removed one star because the printer icon does not print from my wireless printer although all my other apps can do so. When this is fixed I will adjust my rating accordingly
  • Nice visualization Jan 30, 2017

I download measurements from my BP monitor using European version of Omron Connect app on iPod Touch, which has by the way very basic visualization capabilities in comparison to SmartBP. Omron Connect upload to Apple Health. SmartBP gets data from Apple Health. Despite of complexity it is working. Occasionally I push SmartPB data from my iPod to my iPad via Google drive. It is also working, but tags like "before breakfast" seems to be lost. Thus I give SmartBP one star less. I show data to doctors on iPad. BTW: An another tiny bug iPod Touch version cut off string showing data and time of measurement when you touch graph and vertical line is displayed under the finger. Also, it would be nice to have ability to filter morning (or evening) measurements by giving hours range. In summary this is a good app and 2 bucks for ads removal is more than okay.

I’m an every day user of this app and love the data I can keep in it and that it syncs with the apple health app. The one thing I’ve been disappointed about is that the biometric passcode keeps turning itself off? I like to keep my information private and this is something I’d love to see addressed. That is the only thing keeping this from being a 5 star app for me.

Love the app! Very easy to use! But Healthvault is going away. Auto sync with Google Fit should be a priority. Also, some synced weight records are spontaneously changing from lbs to kg when syncing to Google Fit.

    By Aliceandtj
Ok, so this is a very user friendly app for recording BP and weight, but forget syncing your iPad/iPhone. I wrote for help, and she responded she "believed" it should work. Well, it doesn't. I liked the premium version on my iPhone, so I installed it on my iPad, expecting to be able to sync my data. First of all, it didn't recogniz that I had already bought the premium version and installed the freebie on th iPad. I went ahead and entered in alk the profile stuff, hoping that might make it recognize me. It didn't, so I contacted Support. After a few emails back and forth, she suggested I reinstall on my iPad. I did, and same thing: it wanted all my profile info again. I give up on the syncing idea. I'll just use it on my iPhone.
  • Good try but sync is terrible Apr 29, 2019

    By Vitesse04
The basic input and graphing is well done, but the syncing process is abysmal. You have to upgrade to Premium $7.99 to get the syncing functions (fair enough), but when I did it, I had to redownload the app from the App Store on the 2nd device, which wiped its data history. The menu trees to invoke a sync are convoluted and different for the iPhone vs the iPad. I undrstand there are limitations within iOS, but Steve Jobs wouldnt have let this out of the lab. Seamless/User friendly....Not.
  • Good app but needs some features May 19, 2019

    By Crstoph
Good app in general, I wish it could connect to other Omron devices like series 7 and wrist monitors. Also needs feature to allow for automatic unit change from lbs to kgs. Also doesn’t allow adding records if BP is missing... the UI is nice. Also should have option to try premium version before you have to purchase...
  • Could Be Great Feb 12, 2017

Would be a great app if you could sync devices via iCloud (iPhone to iPad). When syncing using iTunes, Dropbox or Google, the weights disappear. Most likely due to Apple Health not being available on iPad. Great app if only tracking blood pressure and not looking to also track your weight.
  • Use to love this app Jul 17, 2019

    By Love me some puzzle
I loved this app as I was just diagnosed with high blood pressure. I was able to print my information to give to my physician and ever since the update I have to pay now if I want that feature. Very disappointed!

I love the app. But i got a new phone and cant get my previous 5 months of data on my mew phone. Also when you set up your profile birthdate, clicking backward for 12 months a year xs 46 years was a pain!

  • Almost unusable, poor Healthkit integration Feb 27, 2021

    By Modern Jess
The ads in this app are extremely obnoxious. It’s almost impossible to evaluate the app to decide whether I want to pay for a premium subscription, because ads pop up at almost every tap. To be clear, I don’t mind paying for apps — but this is beyond the pale. Also, the app is very inconsistent about picking up HealthKit data. Often when I launch the app, the data shown is stale and there’s no obvious way to force a sync with HealthKit.
  • The app charged me with out my permission.! I don’t want to pay for this app! Aug 23, 2018

    By Shmurah
No stars. This app is a rip off! It charged me $6.21. For what? Apple is saying they can’t cancel the transaction. So I guess you just want $6.99 worth of bad reviews. And I’m going to find every source I can to let everyone know of your rip off tactics and how apple is in on the scam with you. No wonder there is no phone number for your company. Dead giveaway that it’s a scam. I hope your $6.99 is worth it. Have a burger and fries on me.
  • Not syncing with Apple Health Oct 10, 2019

    By GBR2020
I have been using the app for a few years and it always worked for what I needed. However, in the past few months it stopped syncing with Apple Health App, which is too bad. I may need to switch to another app if this is not corrected. I have seen reviews with similar comments, but the response from the developer was not very helpful (besides not been very kind).
  • Eureka! I found it! Nov 23, 2016

    By Tiagotoo
This app appeared to be exactly what I was looking for. Ez to read entry-the editing of a saved record is more difficult. What's up with the Help area. First time thru the video instructions worked well. Not so to refresh my memory on subsequent attempts. First screen gives instructions, then locks up, if skip is selected, returns to home screen. App does not always save the entries. Thus the three star rating.
  • What a joke Feb 10, 2021

Gotta say, it’s real cute when an app will let you download it for free on the App Store, just to say you need to buy the premium version to actually use it. This app will not let you use it on your watch unless you buy it. Seemed like a really cool app until I tried pulling it up on my watch and finding out I get nothing
  • App ask for more money. Nov 20, 2016

    By emspecial
Already paid version but still getting pop up asking for money to get ad free version. Although there is a note section to jot down events. I cannot access those notes, so why have them? The app is really basic. This app will allow you to record the BP and make a simple graph but.
  • Not great Feb 5, 2019

    By Washington Irving81
This app isn’t great. Without upgrading its pretty much useless. Do yourself a favor and just record your blood pressure in Apple health. I used this app twice and once I figured out it would only save one blood pressure reading at a time without upgrading to premium I deleted it and started using Apple health.

Thanks.

App needs to change how to enter a birth date. Expecting some one to click back 684 times is just laziness on the developer. Syncing with Google Fit converts the entered weight to kgs, but keeps the lbs designation.

  • DON’T BOTHER & possible security issue Jun 10, 2021

    By LaeadvilleFire1
I started using Smart BP after downloading. It seemed as it was working fine yet when I opened the app to check my measurements for the first time it stated that I must pay for it even though it was the free version, so I had no idea how it worked & I will not pay for ann app I can not try especially with its high price. When I tried to rate it through the app it stated I must first give it my permission to access face id even though I don’t have it set up on my iPhone. That was a huge red flag for me especially since no other app has EVER asked that to use or rate it.
  • Full Screen Ads! Feb 11, 2018

    By mlarson123
Downloaded the app - within 2 minutes of entering my values, had a full screen ad for some tower defense game. There was no “X” or way to back out of it. The ad was interactive, so I played the game for about 1 minute to see if it would go away and it never did. I ended up closing the app and uninstalling. I understand having ads and that is certainly reasonable, but this was beyond intrusive and full screen ads with no way to back out are a no-go for me. Perhaps the paid version of this app is good, but don’t waste your time with the free version. Will stick to keeping my bp values in a notepad note on my phone.
  • No refund yet, after 2 weeks Jun 10, 2019

When I found this app I was so excited and I really lije it. So I went and upgrade the app to eliminate those sometimes annoying ads and find out a better set of apps from the same company at the price that cost me those upgrades. I cancel those upgrades immediately to buy the set of apps and time went by no emails, text messages o anything from them. Apple is no help at all they took my money but didn’t help to get it back. I’ll write a 2nd review to update this one if something happens one way or the other.
