• Fantastic!!! Aug 1, 2019

This app is more than worth the $5 plus the absolutely amazing $1 card counting drill. I always wanted to be good at a card game and I chose blackjack because this app is ranked the #1 Casino app so I thought why not? I started training and watching the videos and before I knew it I memorized basic strategy in an hour and knew how to card count! At first I made mistakes every once in a while and often lost my card count, but after a week of training I have a high score of over 500 and can keep track of the card count without needing to check the reference anymore. That’s how good this app is, and I don’t regret getting it at all. Not only does this app teach you how to get good at blackjack, but it’s fun to train yourself to see how good you can get, it provides great feedback and charts for you to always look at, and lots of different customizations when doing drills to simulate whatever playing environment you want. My only problem with the app is I can’t press on the discard tray image to more clearly see how many decks have been discarded once the betting screen comes up. This is an issue because I need to accurately tell how many decks are left before I make my bet because this is important to how much I will be betting in the next round. The only workaround I found was to exit the drill and then quickly tap on the discard tray image to make it zoom in before the betting screen pops up. Other than that, this app is perfection. 5 stars!

This will help you no matter what level you're at. From the beginner who needs to learn basic strategy to the pro on the road who needs to keep their skills sharp. • Great app WOW Oct 21, 2020

First let me say for 5 bucks... this is a steal.. great counting training... great betting spread training cause you can opt on to have count visible so you can focus on just betting and playing perfectly.. there’s a couple minor problems that should be fixed.. for example.. when the true count is +3 and dealers face up card is “A” the correct deviation is to buy insurance... but I was playing 2 hands... one hand was a hard 16 and other was hard 20.. I bought insurance.. then I was qued that i made a mistake cause you never insure a hard 16.. but it doesn’t give me the option which hand to insure... and to be honest I don’t even know if you could insure only 1 of your multiple hands in an actual casino... but I would have surrendered the 16 and insured the 20 if was possible.. other then that... this app will definitely improve all the important skills you need to be an advantage player... and you can practice different risk betting spreads.. and visually watch the results go positive!! This is the best way to go when u can’t afford the $200-$500 membership for BJA let alone the $1,000+ for boot camp.. with some self discipline and will power... I feel like this app may just be all you need

• Negative Betting?!? Why? Nov 8, 2020

By <---- Rating this App!!!
Not sure why this is a thing, once your bankroll hits $0 or you don’t have money to bet. Either it should allow you to bet the rest in your bankroll down to $0 or it should offer to reset the bankroll to 10k. I know at anytime you can reset the bankroll to 10k which is nice. It’s not right to bet negative! You could offer different sizes bankrolls to start with but I honestly think 10k it perfect to not over bet and even if you wanted to bet small it would lower your risk even more. If you want to start larger just build it up. Unfortunately, I have a few friends trying out the app as well and they want to show off their “bankrolls” but no way to prove they are actual gains. I’m up 50k in mine just from practice and months of work. So I want to actually see who is able to preform and grow a bankroll not just bet a negative amount and show a two hundred thousand dollar bankroll. The app is to simulate real life practice in my opinion. All that being said this is a fantastic app and I highly recommend it. I still think it’s a 5 star app and this can be an easy fix. Just please fix this one this to help everyone, even the ones who think they can borrow the money. Just reset the bankroll and try again.

If you're serious about wanting to learn card counting, whether for a hobby or a legitimate source of income, absolutely nothing beats BJA. Great app, awesome community and an unbeatable website. No matter what your reason is to learn card counting, BJA will give you the tools to be successful. You just have to do the work.

needs a lot of work. You can't tell me to "hit" and "stand" at the same time then smack me on the hand when I select either. And also, where is the discard tray? How are we supposed to estimate the true count ? I know Colin Jones will make this better...

Why exactly did I pay $5 for an app that has in app purchasing? If I pay for an app, especially $5, the content therein should be accessible without additional costs. It’s not the cost it’s the principle. It’s dishonest. I loved the site and it’s content so I thought I’d support them by purchasing the app only to feel cheated when I have to pay once again for content I wrongly assumed I had already paid for. I would have given it one star but it’s a useful app. Just a dishonest creator I guess.

The premium drill "speed counting" is a complete waste. All it does is plays a hand of blackjack. It doesn't keep the count or anything like that. I know that it is training YOU To keep the count but maybe it should be hidden so if you lose the count you can keep going. Also I was hoping there would be a drill where it just continuously flips cards over and then asks you what the count is.

• It’s ok, but fails to allow for small wager increases Mar 3, 2020

By MediumMochaJJ
It’s a good app, and I use it mobile to keep my counting skills sharp. What it doesn’t do, that I wish it would, would be to have 1 dollar chips as an option to allow for smaller bet spreads than 5 dollar denoms for small betting increases when the count is favorable. An increase of 5 on a bet of 5 is 100%, when somewhat more realistically, an increase of 1 (20%) would be more appropriate at slightly favorable counts. Also wish the default bankroll could be changed for other tests (10 Gs may be ideal, but is unrealistic for many players). The other limitation is two hands and no other players. Live action is rarely you against the house; you need to count the other players’ cards too. All that said, don’t overlook this app. It’s worth the money.

• I play high limit blackjack and looking for a table simulator Aug 31, 2018

By Vthegreat1
The simulator runs slow, mainly from the betting window. The gestures like surrendering is not natural, they use it for the stand option, so I use the buttons. Is there a way to turn the basic strategy pop up off? I deviate a lot due to betting strategy and the pop up is annoying. I am very surprised it is 2018 and no one has come up with the perfect casino simulator with adjustable rules and deck amounts. There is no penetration option. If there was a way to combine the old dev abandoned 21+Blackjack with this one, without the surrendering bugs, bet, and table limits, it would be awesome...probably be the best...and I would pay $20 for it.

• 3 issues. Other than that, fantastic! Feb 3, 2020

Perfect trainer for basic strategy blackjack. App will tell you on the fly when you make an error. The card counting is a nice added bonus if you’re going that route. I tried sites and apps for months until I found this gem. Worth every penny. Issue 1 - no sound on any videos through the app. Issue 2 - the mini-course link never sends the verification link to your email so you’re stuck with nothing but the introduction. Issue 3 - (reasoning behind 4/5 stars) My main complaint and only flaw I’ve found in gameplay is when splitting Aces. Once Aces are split the app stands on all hands with no chance to hit or anything. All other splits work correctly but Aces has an issue every time. Once the splitting A’s bug is fixed I would give this app more stars than 5 if I could.

• Bug with splitting aces Jan 28, 2020

By Jerry Seinfeld 69
Every time i split aces the app automatically deals the 2nd card, stands (automatically), then repeats for the 2nd ace. Its quite frustrating please fix this bug. I will also occasionally get “error” prompts that contradict the basic strategy chart. I don't think it results from the hard count because it does this even when the counts at zero. Otherwise the app is great. Please look into these bugs PS: it would be nice if you could adjust the starting bankroll

• Embarrassingly full of bugs Mar 10, 2019

By NeuralGenetic
The app is good for what it was made for- learning basic strategy and card counting. BUT, after two months of regular use, there are many, many bugs that should have easily been found and fixed. Some of the many bugs I’ve seen: with “buttons on left side” NOT selected buttons always start on the left side, dealer NOT drawing on (2 hands) after player bust and blackjack when dealer has a 12, allowing negative bankroll, and re-dealing the prior 3 hands when switching from drill to achievements and back. Overall I like the app and use it daily, but, come on guys, test your software!

If you’re new to blackjack, you need this app. Learning to play basic rules is key, and this app walks you through any mistake you make. And you can never practice counting too much. If you’re ready to take on the casino, take on the app first and make sure you’re prepared to play perfectly and keep the count perfectly every time. Only thing keeping this from 5 stars is that it keeps crashing. When clicking on the drill it closes. It won’t work until I delete and install again.

• The trainer doesn’t have a built in hand calculator Jul 26, 2018

By Lithe11
The trainer does not have a built in hand calculator and is often way off. For example, I have a hard 12 against a 14 at a zero TC It tells me to hit (which loses 0.54% ev) also I have an 11 against a dealer 2 at a TC of -10 and it still tells me to double. (Doubling loses 22.4% ev compared to hitting). It’s a good platform but it’s not accurate and you need to double check through any good bj hand calculator thats free online to make sure.

I’ve been using this app for quite some time and the older version used to tell you how many errors you made at the end of each shoe. I found this to be very informative and wish it was still an option. I also feel the older versions were more customizable as far as settings go.

It’s not a bad app but not worth paying for imo. Card counting gives you at most 5% percent advantage and you need around $10k to even get started. The people who run BJA know most people who get into card counting will fail but they sucker you into thinking you can get rich off it

Soon after downloading the app, it started to glitch where I only get aces for my first card. Tried resetting the game, Uninstall and reinstall the game, and searched for a support to contact but it does not have a number or email anywhere. Basically useless and a waste of my money. This is the only way I see that might get the developers attention to this glitch.

It’s a game simulator. Based on the name I expected some counting drills at least. You apparently have to pay even more for that. The simulator doesn’t let you see the count except in the middle of a hand so it’s pretty useless. The heads up simulation is not what you’ll face in a casino, so also seems like pretty useless training.

This app shouldn’t be called trainer. There is no real lessons. There is no knowledge building guides or techniques. You just play and it tells you what you did wrong. It should have building lessons to help you learn why you are doing what you are doing. I just want to learn how to be a good black jack player so when I go to the table I don’t screw everyone.
