The art style and detail, the animation (wish there was more but I'll take what I can get), the music, the choices, the story, and battle mechanics are just breathtaking/unbelievable/awesome I cannot describe the awe I felt for the waterfall scene, to name one. It's worth it, every penny. I played it like 10 times as Rook and then I'm doing Alette now. The reason I didn't give this game 5 stars is because I DO NOT LIKE the food/morale system. Just because a day passed and there's less food doesn't mean that they should be dropping in morale! If there's no food or an event I get it but just the fact that a day passed? Anyway other that everything else is awesome. Game frequently crashes but whatever just a minor thing that will get fixed hopefully. GG

Just as great as the first one. Beautiful art, music, characters, and interesting story. The only problem I have is a couple of the fights are ridiculously hard even on easy mode. The one under the mountain is really difficult and glitches in a couple spots where the characters can’t move. I had to replay that fight at least 10 times. Another hard fight is later on the bridge. I had such a difficult time with it, I had to put the game away for a month before I wanted to try again. And the ending was a little less satisfying than last time. Still great but definitely left me surprised that was where it ended.

These games have blown me away, particularly with the top-notch world-building. As someone who always loved to pour over maps of Middle-Earth, Westeros, and Malazan the interactive map feature is easily my favorite thing about the game, just continuing to astonish me with how much thought has been put into the creation of the world. Five stars easily, and I wish I could give you more helpful feedback but I just cannot find any flaws in Banner Saga or its sequel. I do no normally follow specific game developers but I have not enjoyed a game this much since The Last of Us. Looking forward to the finale and keep up the great work! Skold!

While it can be argued that the story in this game can be a little lagging compared to the first (some call it the middle story syndrome) it has a excess of lore and story that show how much the developers and community have put into this game. On the gameplay side it is incredible how the characters work. I have played through two times and found two teams consisting of mostly different characters who have unique stories and abilities to help you in your battles. In the end the second Banner Saga is a real improvement that very few could have predicted how great it’s become.

I didn't think this is the game for me until i actually put some time on it, OMG, I couldn't put it down and play straight from the first one to the second. The story is so intriguing, and there's a lot going on. I didn't expect to experience such a story from this indie looking game. Please, please do release Banner Saga 3 to Android! And the future games as well!!! One of the best things about this game is that it carries over the save from the previous.

Buy the series games like I said. Some of the best money you will spend on games period. Play the first game first. Well duh.... but these games are great. Waiting for the third installment to come to ios. Amazing stories. Fights. Choices. Character development forced and chosen. Sigh. More games like this please! They did so well that I love the back ground noise and music it makes it so immersive. You will know what I mean. This is a gaming company that truly cares about the platform and the game it puts out. From a customer thank you.

It's a real shame the last game of the trilogy won't be ported to mobile. These are some of the most moving, beautiful games I've played on any platform, ever. That the first two games were developed with mobile play in mind pays such massive dividends. The value for money represented by the price is staggering. Google should go out of its way to publicise the presence of fully-fledged experiences like TBS rather than hyping so much junk on the Play Store.

I loved the first Banner Saga and Banner Saga 2 is even better. I was happy to see that they rebalanced the costs of promoting characters and also brought more functionality to features I pretty much ignored the first time around (e.g. Training tent). While the first installment was compelling because the world they built was so rich, I find the story more involving in the sequel. There's a mystery at the heart of the story and I'll certainly play BS3 so I can see how it all plays out. Thanks for a beautiful game!

Great art work and music make for impressive turn based story, which is dark and realistic. The gameplay is very good with great tactical synergies available, one or two more hero classes and it would have completed this very good game. You need a decent size screen as the writing is small so tablet is great and large mobile doable anything else you will struggle. You will have many play through and replay well worth the money so much better than majority pay to win trash. Loved it

I love the idea of the game, but it crashes once every few minutes for me. Occasionally I finish a battle without a crash, but usually I need to go back and make decisions and hear conversations two or three times before making progress in the game. I’ve got an iPhone 8 Plus with over 200 GB of free space, so I’m not sure what the possible excuse could be. UPDATE: I adjusted my UI settings slightly, and while I’m not sure why a brand new phone would have trouble with the game, it hasn’t crashed since.

  • Very enjoyable game, but you cannot finish the story... Jan 13, 2020

This is a wonderfully engaging game with a great story, fun gameplay, wonderful music, and beautiful art. I really enjoyed the different ways you can develop your characters, the different strategic requirements of the battles, and most of all, the really engaging story. It isn’t often that you see a game where the decisions really matter and you have so much freedom to find your way through a story. HOWEVER, the studio (Stoic) has not ported Banner Saga 3 to mobile, and appears uninterested in doing so, which means that I’m not able to finish the story I invested so many hours in. I’m very disappointed in the studio. This game, along with its predecessor, are the first video games to get my attention in a long, long time, and its really upsetting that Stoic seems to not realize or not care that there are people who play these games on their mobile devices and are unable to play them otherwise. Hopefully they will come around to porting #3 sooner or later, but until then, I can’t recommend getting invested in this or the first installment. Two stars because it’s such a fantastic game, but ultimately, a real letdown.

Amazing game but im having issues, unable to drag items to assign them to my units or drag team members to create a party though, something feels off like the entire drag system doesn't work and assigning items doesn't either, it will make the clicking noise but won't actually assign to that character or move to that slot, the unit just gets selected and that's it. Please help I love this game and artwork thus far
  • Awesome game...just NOT on mobile. Jun 26, 2018

    By Sailor1337
As it stands right now, this is so buggy I'm not even able to re-download it to test it again. Both games would end up crashing at some point into the game leaving me to constantly try and go to an earlier save and see if I could figure out what was causing it to crash. The game is incredible, yes just as everyone says but with one caveat it's definitely not optimized for mobile. On the desktop or laptop you can "fix" the problems the game gets itself into, probably clobbers over its own memory with pointer issues who knows but the game is literally unplayable on mobile and that's just sad.

The text size is so tiny on the iphone that it looks like ants on the screen. And this is even with the big iphone, the "plus" size. I've had the game on the phone for a year, but I have never been able to play it. I saw an update for the game that was supposed to address the font size, but it seems like nothing has changed. I can't imagine anyone playing it on the regular size phone. How do they bother to release this game without testing it first? How can they sell it for the iphone without it being playable? If you want to get screwed over and you have an iphone, then go ahead and buy this game. ======== Update ======= I got a new phone and thought I would try the game again — a couple of years should be long enough for them to fix the tiny text issue right? I am now on an 8 plus, up from the 6s plus phone. Nope — some of the text is still at 1 and 2 point font. Even after all this time.

Superbly crafted. With lots of interesting characters and backstories, and a very cool and beautifully made world. Even the tactical tile based battling, which I'm not usually a fan of, is so much better than any other of its kind I’ve tried and I’m thoroughly enjoying it along with all other aspects of the game. Love the difficulty too and I’m only playing on normal so far. This game has everything you could want. Easily the best mobile game I’ve ever played.

Not enjoyed as much as first but that is okay as still lots of fun. Very deep lore and a lot of time obviously spent on it. Would probably make it too hard but have thought if there were consequences such as perma-death if you lose heros during fight, then might feel more at stake. Currently it just kind of feels like doesn't matter if you lose until the end

I love this series so far. I just beat the 1st one and immediately downloaded this one and started playing. 5 star quality for sure. Just one problem with it... Why is the UI and subtitles for Banner Saga 2 so tiny? I'm playing on a Galaxy Tab S6 and everything still so small. I wish there was a way to customize it in the options.

The story and the world they have built is unique and very much with exploring. It's a port, not native - so the controls are a compromise. I'd love to see this developed further, but please just don't ruin it all with p2p or subscriptions.

From the animated cutscenes to the strategic gameplay, this is one of the very best games for IOS. I recommend everyone with iPhone 6 or later get this game. Loved the multiple characters this time! Reason for 4 stars? Ending, less animated cutscenes than first game, and story just wasn't quite as good. Still pretty good, but just something missing... That being said, I will most definitely be buying Banner Saga 3. Keep up the great work guys!
  • Good, but a step down from the 1st one Jul 14, 2019

I enjoyed the game and don’t regret my purchase. The soundtrack, as with the first Banner Saga, is amazing. I continue to love the hand-drawn art and the unique setting. But the writing took a big step backward in the sequel. I was mostly satisfied with the content of the story, but the style of the writing was sometimes flippant, cheesy and generally much less mature than the first one. I’ll be purchasing the third as soon as it is released on iOS because I do feel attached to seeing how the story ends. But I hope the quality is back to the standards of the first one.
