Babbel is easy and fun to use, and although I know I will never become fluent solely from using the app, I have found my speaking, listening, reading and writing apprehension in Spanish has improved drastically in short time. Pros: - Beginner friendly. - Good app interface and ease of use. - Good explanations of grammar rules. - Spaced repetition that works. - Other types of lessons and games. Cons: - Annoying app alerts - Explanations and translations could be coloured differently for clarity

Everything was going along great for a couple months, and then there are no more lessons. I signed up for a year. Perhaps I have missed something, but I don't see what. I cannot go to "home" but always get the "oops, something has gone wrong" message. This doesn't seem the right venue for a complaint, but I have no other. I don't know if uninstalling and reinstalling was what did it, but it did bring "home" back, and I found "choose a course", which allowed me to find some new material. Thanks!

I switched from Duolingo and find Babbel is much better and I enjoy the learning more. It is a bit expensive. The speech recognition system is problematic, so this app will make practicing your pronunciation difficult. Some of the lesson modules throw a lot at you, so you will need to practice to keep up. I would like to see more explanation of the words in sentences, but I love that they use natural language and phrases to teach rather than sentences/structures no one would say.

I have used other apps for learning another language and some of them were ok, but the Babbel app breaks it down and gives you learning on a level that you can grasp and retain. They have many great learning tools and great support. At first I thought that the price for what most apps give you was a little bit high, but with Babbel you definitely get what you pay for, it's worth it.

Great app. I really like how it teaches you to write the words and when to use words in different contexts, It's not common among other language learning apps and I highly appreciate it. The goal setting is another great thing, Because then I got to really think how much I have learned and how much should I improve. I highly recommend this app for if you're trying to learn a new language, It's great.

The lessons advance too quickly, and go into sentences I cannot even understand! I am very disappointed in the way Babbel teaches. I'm on lesson 7 of 9, and I cannot even say half the stuff I'm expected to know by lesson 7... Took the placement test offered, and it merely takes me back to lesson 2 LOL This sucks! My advise is, try another service. Finally, tried to contact customer support, and seems it is eastern Time Zone... not very convenient for us West Coast people.

The only reason I am giving this app two stars is the fact that the advertising that I have heard stated the babble app was free. I selected to learn my lesson for five days a week and I was learning Spanish. My first day was learning the basics hello, bye and such and my second day they wanted me to pay for so I didn't get what was free. It did not state that this app would have charges nor if you choose free then eventually you'll be paying. So this is why I gave this app 2 stars.

There's a lot I prefer about their approach from a didactic perspective compared to Duolingo, but considering they expect 10€ more for a year's subscription and allow only access to one language for that as far as I can see, that's not worth it. Also, it seems like Duolingo is just a lot more intuitive in handling and offers more languages.

This app is fantastic. I love that before each lesson you are prompted to review what you've learned. Lessons are broken down by topic, and from there into different parts. There are multiple ways to learn - listening, reading, writing or speaking - and you're constantly engaged. As you work your way through the courses learning progresses quite naturally.

I have enjoyed using Babble. I have (temporary) staff sent to me daily. Often they are struggling w English as their second or even sixth language! I suggest Babble, and a dictionary site that also has a lot more information on word use, thesaurus, more info on single words than I've seen in one place before. This gives them information and practice pronouncing, sentence structure, all that. Eventually, if they do some work on learning, it improves their skills for employment in the future.

In the early stages I found it confusing what you expected of me when presented with multiple choice questions. If it was a case of matching phrases there is no clear instruction on how to do this. Fir instance drag one phrase to match with the answer. This is not apprant until you try various options and then get wrong answers because you are trying to work out how to tackle this problem. This has nothing to do with the language.

This app is awesome, but as all apps, probably could use some improvement. I like this app because some if my family is Mexican and I can't understand half of what they're saying, so each day I learn so much more of what they're saying just by using this app. I reccomend this app to anyone that wants to learn a different language!

Ok let me first start out by saying that this app could be something very special, but I find that the monthly subscriptions are brought to you way early, as soon as I finished my first step on learning my new language, it asked me to purchase there monthly subscription if I wanted to continue. I'd at least like to be able to learn a little more than just "Hi my name is"

It's deceivingly not free at all. Just allows you to do one lesson, and afterwards forces you to sign up with your credit card for the "7 days free trial" (which starts to charge you a lot afterwards). I mean, I get the "you get what you pay for" thing here, just don't sell something as free if it's not.
