    After reading all the reviews I was skeptical about getting the app, but I tried it anyway and I am satisfied with it. I visited four cities in Colombia and used the app with all my checking-ins. The only problem was adding the tickets to my wallet. Still getting the tickets at the airport was fast. Also their services have improved greatly. I do recommend Avianca. Good fares.

  • Worst customer service ever experienced in my life May 14, 2021

    This airlines is the worst I have ever experienced in my life. They don’t care about passengers at all, in fact animals are treated better than the customers who are unfortunate enough to buy a ticket on this airline. I am cancelling my account with them and never using them again and encouraging everyone I know to stay as far away from them as possible. They make Spirit airlines look like the Ritz Carlton, and that’s not an easy thing to do. My red hat’s off to you Avianca, ciao!

    Does not work at all. I wasted my time trying to enter the flight info several times and when I was going ti select the flight it said there were no flight that day or it showed an error message. It was frustrating, disappointing and a waste of time. The web site does not work either. I tried calling the customer service but they never answered. It has been a extremely negative customer experience.

    absolutely useless app, serves no purpose at all. Check-in was a nightmare, charged me for a free seat, always refers you to their equally crappy website and is always making you go to WhatsApp. 1 star is generous of me. Airline apps have been around long enough, copy others and end this farce. No excuse for being a garbage app this day n age

    This app is totally pointless. If you want to do anything (check in, change seats, upgrades, change flights etc) it just directs you to a web page, the app provides zero value. Bit like the airline who are also pretty useless at most things.

    Really bad app, bad designed, it has many glitches, doesn’t link the information. I’m surprise Avianca has such a bad app because they are usually pretty organized. I really don’t like this app, very disappointing!

    If I could give this airline a ZERO, I would! I am telling this story as it unfolds. My wife and I bought a ticket to come to Colombia for mid June 2021. The experience was never EVER smooth. From the get go Avianca did not lets change a typo on my wife ticket name, something you can do in any ither airline using their website and login. We were coming w our cat and they forced us to buy another extra $300 when we had already bought. We tried to do the reimbursement of the ticket and it took us literally 4 hours on hold to do that. It took us on the phone again another 12 hours TOTAL to change our flight to a later date. Something that a modern airline lets you do, again, online. Ok. So we thought our flight was gonna be ok because the new one we rescheduled was SUPPOSEDLY SOLD TO US to be direct flight from NYC to Cali with a gas refill stop at Medellin. A 30min stop. When we got to Medellin, they forced us to disembark, go through Immigration and go the USDA version of Colombia for a cat inspection. When we finished that saga, guess what?! We lost our flight, the same flight we were in from NYC that the Avianca representative that sold us the ticket told us was a simple gas refill. We had to fight w an Avianca representative in Medellin to demand we get to Cali on the same day. He said it was out fault thay we missed our flight. He also said Avianca HAS THE RIGHT TO OVERSELL SEATS IN THEIR PLANES. I mean. That is crazy!!! They gave us a connecting flight to Bogota and hopefully our final flight to Cali is not gonna be canceled or delayed. We are currently stuck in Bogota. Do not let this nightmare happen to you. BOYCOTT AVIANCA. DONT BUY YOUR TICKETS WITH AVIANCA!!!!

    You would think that Avianca could put an app together that would let you buy a ticket. Unfortunately it glitches out right in the middle of booking your ticket or simply waits until you put all your info in, including cc info then it doesn’t accept your card and locks you out from trying to put in a new card etc I have spent hours on this “worthless” app trying to book 2 tickets and always wind up having to go through a third party booking service to buy my tickets. Avianca- if I were on your board of directors, I would immediately fire your web development people and get someone who knows how to put together an app that works. I would imagine you have lost millions of dollars of revenue because of the frustration of dealing with your web site. Feel free to check out Delta, United etc if you want to see what a real app looks like that allows you to buy a ticket. Hope my disappointment was apparent!!

    Just got home from a trip to South America. Booked air with Avianca airline because of the times of the flights. Before we leave they changed flight times 3 times. The last change was 1 1/2 hrs earlier. I called to complain but was told no other available time. Then got to gate and they didn’t even have us recorded! Wanted us to switch and have a 6 hour layover before we leave. On the return home when we arrived at our stop over we went to get lunch. We had from 1130am til 210 pm. Just happened to look at screen and it was changed to 1235. Never got notifications or this change. We could have missed our flight instead we missed our lunch. Very unprofessional and very rude. I will not be dealing with this sort of airline again when there are lots of others to go to beware of this practice they do to you.
