The app I have been waiting for was worth the wait imo and so far I am very impressed. 1. It has calculated my macros for me based on the data I imputed and the goal I have set for myself. This could be very costly if you were hiring someone to do it for you. 2. I have a place to “Checkin” weekly and have some accountability (WhooHoo) 3. The app will adjust my macros based off of my weekly data and whether or not I am hitting my goals or not (again, this can be very costly if you hire someone to adjust your macros for you) 4. The app is flexible in that I can switch some carbs for fats or fats for carbs, depending on how the day is going. I’m not stuck trying to eat one macro at the end of the night to hit my numbers. 5. The app has an alcohol option so that there isn’t a ton of math calculations that need to be done in order to enjoy a brewskey... 6. There is an alarm for Intermittent Fasting on/of so I don’t need ANOTHER app to track this AND 6. If I ever decide to carb cycle, the app offers that as well. ... I mean.. geez.. I’m sold. Now the fun part. I gotta use it to track and see if it gives me real results... 🤞🏽

Great move to an app from the web interface, but there are some bugs to address still! Timezone, not currently recognising my timezone as Australia, so I can't log my morning weight without going to the desktop version. The app is a little slow. Also on the main summary page, there is no option to show your total calories to be consumed for the day, that is clear, only remaining (which does not then count how many calories you're over, it Caps at zero).

Hands down one of the best programs for IIFYM. You cant beat the price and the team behind this program have been nothing but helpful! This regimen has been the ONLY thing that has worked for me as far as consistency, flexibility, and individual customization. The algorithms used to set your macros are adjusted weekly to meet YOUR goals and YOUR body. Macro counting in the past for me has always been a pain to calculate (and I am definitely NO expert), but Avatar makes it easy to just forget about calculating and just enjoy the process. My relationship with food and fitness have completely changed, and it’s all thanks to Avatar! If you are looking for a new diet regimen, whether your goal is fat loss, muscle gain, maintenance, or reverse dieting... Avatar Nutrition is the BEST there is!

So I started tracking my macronutrients back in April. The first app I used was one that was newly released by another influencer in the fitness industry. It wasn't until after that I had discovered Avatar. The following months I had bounced around from app to app seeing which I liked the best and didn't really seem to find one that hit home with me, although I had the most success with Avatar. This new app really hit home for me. It took almost everything I loved about the other apps and ran with it. For being released for less than twelve hours at the time I'm writing this I have no complaints. The UI is awesome. It's easy to use, and I won't hit on bugs since I know it's to be expected. I also understand that you guys do not create your own food databse; it's a third party. With that, I know it's not your fault that there are some inconsistencies in the database. However, it's so easy to edit the macros on an inconsistent item that it doesn't even make it worth a complaint. The intermittent fasting feature is going to make cutting even easier than before. The ability to be able to slide foods around the log rather than copy and paste is awesome. I was able to add all the ingredients from my dinner and then put them in the order I prepared my meal. I did mention it on the Facebook group but the only think I would like to see in a future update is the ability to see your micronutrients. I have essential hypertension so I'd like to track my sodium intake. That's just me personally though. It's not a hit on the developers at all because I know it can kind of go against the IFFYM ideology. You guys truly knocked it out of the park with this app.

  • Good features bad calculations Nov 14, 2020

The app is probably good for people who are just trying to lose weight, who are new to tracking macros. However I am extremely precise I weigh everything I eat and had previously used carbon diet app. The calculations avatar generates seem to always favor less calories. So while on maintenance I lost three pounds. I didn’t want to loose weight just maintain it. I wasn’t very happy with that. Visually the app is extremely confusing to first start using. It’s obvious the creators did not do much work on mapping out the user interface before programming. The accuracy of calories when scanned is good the app is powered by Nutrinix which has proven fairly solid. I like the features such as the intermittent fasting timer, a way to log your progress pictures. However it is another weak point that you really can’t look at those logged progress pictures on the app. They’re too small and I couldn’t find a way to make them bigger or compare side to side past pictures. The body fat percentage calculators are great. I also liked being able to balance out the macros for the day. Calories aren’t really a focus of the apps interface, they are there but hard to find. Sometime it’s nice to be able to quickly know how many calories you have for the day. Overall it’s not worthy of the monthly cost as it derailed my goals through bad advise, I am switching back to carbon diet.

Really love how easy avatar has made it for me to count macros. I am currently reverse dieting and it's been the best experience. I trust their algorithm to make the appropriate adjustments in my macros weekly. I have gone from eating 1400 calories a day to 2100 calories! I still have some more fat to lose but now I know I'm at a better place metabolically to go into another cut next time with higher calories! Loving the process and the community avatar offers.

  • Ten stars! Oct 5, 2020

I have been tracking macros with Avatar Nutrition going on a year and a half, admittedly I am biased! Today this new App launched, refreshing the platform, and it is gorgeous. Avatar has become an invaluable tool in my healthy life plan in tracking food consumption. Not only at ones fingertips is this App, both handheld and desktop, to easily track macros—with all of the bells and whistles and updates that are planned moving forward… But also, the super personal ongoing support a quick email away, a private Facebook community that inspires and mentors, and that the Co-Founders are actively involved. Ten stars if I could! Thank you Avatar Team! Thank you. Eat what you love. Look how you want. Feel better than ever.

Been using the desktop version for 6months. . I removed a star.. been using the app for awhile now and still prefer the desktop version. Building recipes is the worst though. It double enters items and when I go to delete it, it will delete a different item I wasn't even touching. Ive learned to use the desktop for that. It is also highly touch sensitive and just not as user friendly IMO as the desktop.

I was an early adopter of Avatar years ago and just starting tracking again just in time for the app release. Awesome looking interface, easy to navigate, easy to change goals, intermittent fasting option is a big plus! I now have to delete a separate app for IF. Minor improvements, app title still shows "NutritionProjectMobile". Also noticed minor grammatical error. After resetting my goal/profile, the pop up notification "Profile has been RESETTED" Other than that, great app!

Full of usability flaws. Some inherited from the web version of the app. There is no continuity adding items to a meal. After adding an item after having searched for if, you'll have to backspace to clear the search (a simple X to clear it all would work... or clear by default). The app appears to not include and refresh from items entered on the web. Not just a delay...but like, at all. Otherwise great food database and great value as far as the Avatar nutrition service is concerned .
