    This app gets better and better but it isn't perfect. The app has great features and a few clunky ones. More good ones than it used to have. They are being improved over time. All in all, I'm happy with my experience. I can return books I didn't like if they are returned within 6 months. I don't read (listen to) them that quickly. I buy faster than I listen to them. Some times I finish them and the "finished" indication doesn't stay associated with the book through app revisions. Not Cool! The stories included in the titles are often well done but some presentations need serious rework - not many - but the choice for presenter could sometimes be improved. I've listened to a couple dozen different presenters by now ( a couple hundred books ). If those that were "flat" could be trained or replaced with more skilled people a lot of the stories would be better but, sometimes the story is the problem and that is a shame. It becomes easier to tell the difference between problems in story and presentation as you hear more of each. The short samples offered before you buy are most helpful ( at least to me ) only after my ear has become trained by listening to a goodly number of books by many presenters.

    Love this app so much. Had it for years and does not disappoint. Thank you for being here, existing and being in my life. Such a great idea and concept. Sorry it took me so long to rate this amazing app! Get it, you won’t regret it, so many wonderful title and books and not over priced! Update: This is still a great app but it needs to be said that the home tab is waaay too much noise visually speaking. Way too many suggestions and advertised books for an app. It’s not a clean look and honestly it’s ugly. The app needs a more sleek minimalist feel for ease of use. I literally get anxiety seeing the homepage with all the extra books recommendations, catalogues and so forth. When I use the app I just want to get to the point not be defaulted to a crazy looking page foot of book images. Please higher someone to update your app comestically. With the IOS update people are discovering less is more with widgets and less apps. Try to use that same concept, I want to see recommendations make it the last tab not the first. Have the first tab be the library and instead of a line chart of books maybe give the option of line display or chart display, just something more sleek please. Update 03 May 2021: The app skips the audio for some reason and when the screen goes dark it stops playing. Please fix this. This is pretty frustrating and my settings don’t have anything that causes this to happen.

    Great for on the go listening. I've worked my way through hours of enjoyable audiobooks and podcasts whilst I'm at work an on long commutes. I usually save up credits rather than buying an expensive book or go for the sale items if I want to purchase something as prices can be a bit steep. However, most audiobooks, CD or otherwise, usually have a higher price anyway.

    This was one of those books that you not only savor, but you swap between physical and audio because you can’t get enough. The setting was perfect, the characters were hilarious, and the depth was just right. You follow Marin as she takes on a role she never thought she would be in.. PR and media manager for a rock band. But she not only crushes the position, she gains a crush on a band member. You follow along with the band and crew as they make their way all over the country on tour. You see them banter, you see them prank and you see them fall in love.. or lust. I usually have something to knit pick about whether it’s lack of charter build or creating an atmosphere you feel a part of, but Lisa did nothing for me to knit pick. This world was so well thought out, I can’t wait to dive into every single book I have of hers and also... I really need a prequel to see how Craig and Phoebe started. The only reason I gave this book a 4 rather then a solid 5 was I had a bit of a rough time with the big problem and how quickly it seemed to be resolved, I wish it would have been a little longer and we got to see more effort and what happened to.. patch things up on all accounts. I’m a girl who doesn’t trust easily and loses trust quickly so I have a hard with any story that someone’s forgiven too quickly.

    There are several annoying features to the app. Most annoying to me is the placement of the "Clip" button. I'm constantly touching the button unintentionally when I pick up my phone and end up with dozens of bookmarks I didn't want. If the button can't be moved to a different location, then please have it be a 2-step process to place a bookmark, as it is for changing "Speed" or setting the "Sleep Timer". Next most annoying feature is that when I minimize the screen of the book I'm listening to, the app always goes back to the "Home" location. Why can't it just be set to stay on "Library" when that's where I left it? Library is the feature I use most often but the foul app keeps resetting itself!

    It took a little more than usual for me to get into the book; at first,It started off feeling too much like a cliché, but that changed after the first few chapters. After reading the book, it almost feels like that was the author’s intention to provide a stark contrast for the character development throughout the book or possibly the author became a better writer once she fully built her world. I really enjoyed the vivid setting descriptions of the “Pond” and the city(really all of the settings were wonderfully sketched through words in the reader’s mind), the characters felt so authentic that I was sad when the story ended, and the structure was also essential to the plot: going between the past and present at various stages, but also within one day at the beach house in the present. It could get a little confusing at times, but this made me pay attention more so I didn’t mind. There were times when I was so angry at the main character, and mother(s), that I literally yelled at her (them)through my phone. It was never the main character’s fault, but she made so many poor, weak choices at times. It reminded me of the human flaws and regrets we all have or carry.

    Essential app I use every day and has served me well over the years. However, as someone who likes to keep notes along with my bookmarks, I'd like to see this functionality expanded and improved. Here are my ideas: 1. make it easier to add notes to Bookmarks: - allow the user an option to always show the 'Add note' modal whenever he adds a bookmark (feature toggle in app's Settings?) - after tapping the '+ Bookmark' button, put the focus immediately on the Note input, so you can start typing immediately (instead of having to tap the Input notes field first) - make the Input notes field start with a capitalized letter by default (notes can be a sentence or more, so it's nice to have them formatted properly by default) - add some space between Revert and Done buttons on Add note screen 2. make it easier to Edit bookmark's note: - if you tap the '+ Bookmark' button at a location where a bookmark already exists, perhaps the app could show the Edit modal of that existing bookmark instead of the useless 'Bookmark already exists...' message. This would be a good way to add a note to a bookmark for which you've inadvertently closed the modal which asks you to add a note (this modal closes automatically after just a few seconds). 3. Allow exporting of bookmarks and notes (in json, csv or text form)

    Audible works great, I can find great titles, get samples of the voices, and I even get a free credit with the higher tier subscription with a few more “premium” titles. The issue for audible is turning the everyday subscriber into a customer; like myself. I pay $10 and watch hundreds of movies and tv shows that last a few hours to hundreds of hours depending on the title. The budgets are bigger, the price for the customer is lower. I pay $10 and listen to thousands of songs, many just a few minutes, some can be hours. I also enjoy podcasts... for no additional fee. Now we get to Audible where I pay $12, more than the others, and get 1 pick and like at an old movie store I become limited and find it difficult to choose the only free title I’ll get because the rest you have to pay for. I loved the audio books, but I’ll never stay a subscriber when I have other content for cheaper and without a secondary pay wall. I listened to a single book in a week, so that’s 4 books a month on average. Since only 1 is free, I could be paying $30, $50, $100 more for the other titles. I signed up with a free trial, stayed for a month after, but will sadly cancel after as they haven’t nailed down a way to monetize in a way that I can have access to hundreds of premium free titles for a low monthly cost.

    I’ve been a member on/off for many years. You pay a monthly/annual fee and get credits based on your subscription. The fee you pay is often less than the price of most audiobooks. You can pay for the book or use a credit. There are lots of reviews, some are fake but most seem to be genuine. I like that you can hear a 3-5 minute sample before purchasing. I have gotten credits refunded for books I was unhappy with, (books I didn't listen to completely). Customer service has been great. I had to discontinue membership for a while and lost nothing during the time I canceled my membership. I kept the credits I already had and all of the books I had in my library. Starting my membership again was easy. I do wish that reviewers would add ore detail instead of simply saying ”I like the book”. That’s not a review. Why do you like/dislike the book? Was it clean, full of profanity, sex, violence? Was this book fit for the whole family? Did the story flow, was the narrator easy to listen to; did they have an annoying voice, were the characters voices distinguishable? That’s a review! A review is meant to help other customers decide if they want to purchase the book or not.

    An amazing account of personal transformation. I too grew up with a racist father, surrounded by all of the rhetoric in this community. Awful. I love the courage it took for Roland-Derek to challenge his indoctrination and to find the strength to cut ties with beloved community, even family. That is the hardest part. For real. He said there is guilt in the interviews I’ve seen of his regarding what he helped create. Well, that was happening anyway. The good he has created through his total honesty, vulnerability and accountability - and willingness to speak publicly about it - stands taller and provides more light than any darkness the white nationalist... movement could ever create. He is a light bearer, and it is especially powerful and illuminating BECAUSE of his history. Roland-Derek provides an example of someone to challenge and think for himself within a fear-based, constraining movement. My hat is forever off to this gentleman, a man of TRUE wisdom and bravery while surviving the very human heartbreak of leaving a beloved community that no longer serves. He and Alison are putting their lives on the line by speaking out. I am grateful to Eli for penning this book, and all the others willing to allow their names into this story. Your courage and truth DEEPLY inspires me.

    Bookmarks are still breaking, this is caused by the app crashing any time it is opened while the app is sleeping, the current position is reset to the start of the book that is open - this is a bug, not a settings issue - if this basic and essential function worked, i'd give 5 stars, but currently have to scan through books multiple times a day to refind my position

    A generally good app. Lots of books and podcasts, some included in your membership, and others not. But it has a huge tech/connectivity problem. Most of the time, I can't open my home page, instead I get a 'oops something went wrong' message. I know it's not my network because I connect to other apps just fine. Ruins what would have been a good app experience.

    Plus is completely useless. The app doesn't connect to the plus selections. When I try to continue a book it just sits there trying to connect. Reset my phone and reinstalled the app. Don't bother with this CRapp. Even iTunes works better. There isn't any point in reaching out to them for help. I've never received a response after multiple emails.

    This app used to be wonderful. And I still love the service and quality of the books. However, whatever updates and changes they've made recently has been detrimental. The wish list I have keeps resetting to the top. I have a hard time navigating the store now. Overall, the quality has plummeted on what was a phenomenal app and service before.

    I love this app, and use it a ton. But it is so frustrating that it constantly crashes. I'll be in the middle of listening to a book, and it will just shut off. There used to be a way to reset something in the settings, and that fixed it for a while, but that option is now gone, and I can't figure out how to fix it. Samsung Galaxy S20FE

    App is generally great, prices are unsustainable for my budget, which is where my problem comes in. I bought extra credits, built up to 4 or 5 then spent them all. I then put my account on hold or pause. Weeks later as I went into my library, all those new books were locked. I really don't care what technicalities or policy caused it. I paid for the books. They should be available. A shady back door move to keep you paying, is what that is. Also...

    I don’t know why they decided to change the app, but they did. Before, the library section (which is the content I have via the app) was pretty well organized and could be perfectly navigated between what was actually on my device and what wasn’t. Now it’s a mess of a screen with huge empty margins taking most of the space (a recent addition to mobile development that I don’t understand because I though the point was to USE the space as effectively as possible) and the scrolling is WAY to floaty (I only have to barely have to have my finger on the screen and it’ll move) Now, honestly Audible is a little to expensive of a subscription service for my taste. They only give you 1 credit at a time and STILL treat their service more like a rental than actual ownership (so I don’t know why they don’t move to a “unlimited” model subscription and stop acting like their credits actually mean anything) I already had bad experiences with the service in the past with the service, but decided to try to give it another shot. I don’t think I’ll give them anymore past this. The quality of the app is quickly going downhill (besides what I already mentioned above I also keep getting warning messages about being on a slow connection when my internet is just fine) and there are now MUCH more better services around that handle audiobooks better than they do.

    For years audible set the standard for the audiobook experience. Recently, however, they have changed things so that now opening the app is aggravating. It forces you to wait while it shows you a whirling ring of "you must wait on something that is more important than what you paid for". Audible, give me access to my downloaded books immediately when I open the app. Do your digital housekeeping after that.

    🎉 It did improve when the sleep timer was restored to the main page. Thank you! The purchasing feature is clumsy and annoying to use. It is difficult to find books from any for sale list. On my phone, the wish list and lists of books offered in different special categories are in a series of brief “pages” and to get to the end one of a long list must go through each page to the bottom in order to turn to the next segment. If you stop mid-list it is necessary to start over. GRRR! Also, no chance to go to a given page directly. As a result, I have no idea what is on the last 80% of my wish list or special offer lists or book category lists: takes too much time to peruse them all at one sitting or skip back page by page. A minor change in the last update I find annoying: when a book is finished, a persistent popup page makes it not possible to go back or go to different book without rating the one just completed. Previously one could opt out of the popup rating page. I normally rate books but do not always wish to do so. I have found a way out of it but it’s also annoying to have to do this extra step. On my iPad I can close the app completely and when I return to it rating demand is gone.

    Great app but I didn't realized they had been charging me for 3 months. Then when you try to cancel, the cancelation button only shows up on Desktop version of the browser. So why you have an app? Then it doesn't allow you to remove the credit card either!!! It's annoying how far they go for our money by making things harder for us.

    Other than a Bible app...the Audible app is one that EVERYONE should have. This app empowered me to hear books I would never take the time to read. I started when I was active duty military. Imagine the pounds I saved on moving expensive because I did not have the heavy books. I love it and cannot see myself without it.

    I’ve had Audible for nearly 5 years. I started as a way to help me get back to reading since physically reading was somewhat limited by reality. But now when I walk my dogs, run errands, go to the work related matters, drive for a long road trip, ride my bicycle, or even work in the kitchen, I always make sure to have books to listen to. My library has at least 300 by now, and I love seeing it grow. I also love the whisper sync for Kindle which lets me read or listen. I also love the integration with my Alexa devices. I can go from room to room without wasting my phone battery, and have her keep reading to me. Here are my only two recommendations:1- this is the most important. Please for the love of all that is holy let us organize our books by subject matter/ category or whatever we call it like we can in Kindle! I need to do this on my PHONE as I cannot scroll through the ALL my books to find old books I’ve forgotten are even there. I need to put them by category. Please please please do this most basic thing for your subscribers. 2- please have more whisper sync and more affordable ways to purchase kindle after purchasing the audible. Thank you.

    I am so impressed with this ap! I had caved on one of the ads for this ap on fb and saw that they had a free trial with two free books so I decided to try it. I listened to part of one book and then haven’t had much time to listen since and actually kinda forgot about it. I received an e mail today from audible which reminded me I needed to cancel my trial before being charged bc I wasn’t ready to pay the monthly subscription just yet and unlike most apps I found the customer service for this company was incredible! Right under settings in the ap lists a phone number and easy access to ur subscription information. I called the number to find out where I was in my trial and was impressed with how quickly they answered and told me I still had a few weeks left and she could cancel it now or I could enjoy the rest of it and call back to cancel the day before. She also returned the book I originally ordered bc I wasn’t that into it and now I have my two free book credits left! I highly recommend this ap to anyone bc of its easy to use settings, outstanding customer support, and wide section of books available! Great Job audible!

    I literally was crying the other day from frustration at the knowledge that I create my own reality but did not know HOW. So there I was on the floor of my kitchen bawling my eyes out and suddenly I had a sense of peace come over me. A couple of days later, I searched in Audible the terms magic money manifesting and this book popped up. I honestly didn’t have much hope for it, because it seems like all of these books that claim to give a person techniques just re-hash the same old stuff. This author didn’t do that. He gives practical how to methods that explain different perspectives and details on how to REALLY harness your inner power and apply it to your life. I feel empowered. I took notes this book was so informational, I’m going to listen to it again! Don’t hesitate to get this book! It really will change your life. You can tell that the author spoke from the heart and put a lot of inspired work into this. Sitting on that floor I begged God to help show me how to use the power I know he gave us all to manifest a better life for me. And this book stood out to me. So that’s how I know it is special and must have been inspired. Prosperity and Goodness to you all!

    UPDATE: another several years in, and Audible is still the app I use EVERY day. Because it is the best! Bug fixes and design tweaks have kept it moving forward, without ever making me think “aw it was better before the update.” (Looking at you, iPhone!). Audible is the only app I would take with me to a desert island. Yes. It’s that good. UPDATE: it’s been 8 years now and other than the text messaging apps, Audible is easily the most frequently used and loved app in my phone, by far. With the recent improvement so it’s now possible to buy new audiobooks with credits through the app, it’s even better. Audible, I’m your #1 fan!! (Apologies to Stephen King.) I've been using this app daily for over 2 years now and love it. Are there bugs? Yes. Is it perfect? No. But the problems others complain about are really minor to me. Sleep isn't on the main screen, but one touch brings it up. For me what's relevant is how vast an improvement this player is over the only other I've used, Overdrive, which feels like something out of the Middle Ages by comparison. I know the Audible app's quirks and don't have a problem with them, because it works beautifully. Every day. <3

    I’ve been an avid member for I’m thinking at least a decade and I just discovered that you have removed all my reading statistics and levels of accomplishment in the app. Naturally I won’t quit but I loved that aspect of the app and it gave me a continued sense of achievement and accomplishment. Please return this feature it means so much to me or show or tell me where you moved it to. Thanks for listening. I have now discovered that my review above is not exactly correct the statistics are still there. However, because I had two accounts, recently consolidated into one the one I have remaining shows me as having achieved scholar while in fact I have long since passed Master level. That bothers me greatly. May seem a small issue to but not I. Also, what’s the level above Master as when your records are updated I will surpass that easily. Even if you don’t make the update I will still obliterate Master level and there must be others. Anyway once I hear from you I will update to 5 stars. Finally, I wish you would find a way where I can find and purchase books inside the App if apple don’t like it so what, just buy them out and make a better policy.

    Great for on the go listening. I've worked my way through hours of enjoyable audiobooks and podcasts whilst I'm at work an on long commutes. I usually save up credits rather than buying an expensive book or go for the sale items if I want to purchase something as prices can be a bit steep. However, most audiobooks, CD or otherwise, usually have a higher price anyway.

    This was one of those books that you not only savor, but you swap between physical and audio because you can’t get enough. The setting was perfect, the characters were hilarious, and the depth was just right. You follow Marin as she takes on a role she never thought she would be in.. PR and media manager for a rock band. But she not only crushes the position, she gains a crush on a band member. You follow along with the band and crew as they make their way all over the country on tour. You see them banter, you see them prank and you see them fall in love.. or lust. I usually have something to knit pick about whether it’s lack of charter build or creating an atmosphere you feel a part of, but Lisa did nothing for me to knit pick. This world was so well thought out, I can’t wait to dive into every single book I have of hers and also... I really need a prequel to see how Craig and Phoebe started. The only reason I gave this book a 4 rather then a solid 5 was I had a bit of a rough time with the big problem and how quickly it seemed to be resolved, I wish it would have been a little longer and we got to see more effort and what happened to.. patch things up on all accounts. I’m a girl who doesn’t trust easily and loses trust quickly so I have a hard with any story that someone’s forgiven too quickly.

    Essential app I use every day and has served me well over the years. However, as someone who likes to keep notes along with my bookmarks, I'd like to see this functionality expanded and improved. Here are my ideas: 1. make it easier to add notes to Bookmarks: - allow the user an option to always show the 'Add note' modal whenever he adds a bookmark (feature toggle in app's Settings?) - after tapping the '+ Bookmark' button, put the focus immediately on the Note input, so you can start typing immediately (instead of having to tap the Input notes field first) - make the Input notes field start with a capitalized letter by default (notes can be a sentence or more, so it's nice to have them formatted properly by default) - add some space between Revert and Done buttons on Add note screen 2. make it easier to Edit bookmark's note: - if you tap the '+ Bookmark' button at a location where a bookmark already exists, perhaps the app could show the Edit modal of that existing bookmark instead of the useless 'Bookmark already exists...' message. This would be a good way to add a note to a bookmark for which you've inadvertently closed the modal which asks you to add a note (this modal closes automatically after just a few seconds). 3. Allow exporting of bookmarks and notes (in json, csv or text form)

    I love this app. I never have time to actually devote to sitting down with a book, so this is the perfect solution! The library of books that are included with my subscription is a good more limited than I expected, considering that is the main reason I subscribed. This wouldn't be as bad if you got credit for more than one book a month.

    I’ve been an audible member for about 20 years ( whenever the service started). I have well over 1000 titles in my library (most purchase, prior to new system, with free titles). I occasionally listen to portions of one book, before switching over to another (especially, when a desired preorder becomes available). Previously, it was easy to locate books that I needed to return to, by hiding all finished titles. Since the new system was unveiled, this has been reversed. I don’t quite understand the utility of being able to see all titles in your library that you have already completed. Showing titles that you haven’t started is if some use, but it fails to show anything that even has a few seconds played. So if I accidentally tap on the wrong title and get past “This is Audible”, prior to going back and selecting the title I actually want, it will no longer show up as not started. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!!! Please fix this for your most loyal members!!! A secondary improvement would be to extend the Apple Watch Complication, so that it will permit control / book selection of titles on your paired iPhone, rather than having to download the book to your watch.

    Audible is amazing! I used to love reading (still do) but don't have the time for it anymore as a working mom. Audible lets me listen to my books while I'm doing house chores like laundry or dishes and still enjoy my books. My only complaint would be the syncing between devices. I can listen on my phone one day, ask my echo to play it another day, and there isn't any continuity between the two. My only complaint though :)

    Still great. Still no Audible for Apple Watch! I really hope you will provide this great service on Apple Watch!Please make an Audible app for Apple Watch there are some nice improvements, but I can't focus on them as long as my chief gripe isn't addressed. At the very least, please tell your loyal customers whether you are trying to do this--or if you are even considering it. Audible is one of the apps I use out often. I bought an Apple watch so I could listen to audiobooks while walking my dog and could leave my iPhone at home sometimes. I have seen some work-arounds, but so far have not been able to listen to audiobooks on my watch. Audible doesn't show any inclination to develop an Apple watch app. I have asked. I guess I will try purchasing an audio book from iTunes, and see if that works. If it does (which I am not optimistic about) I might have to make my walking purchases from iTunes instead of Audible. I wouldn't like to ditch my Audible account to completely, as I love it. The hundreds of dollars I have spent on Audible books proves that. But I disappointed at this apparent indifference to the requests of Audible's most loyal customers.

    I love the Audible app because it allows me to enjoy a good book even while driving or other activities that prevent reading a book while doing them. RIF was a program I loved in school, many of my classmates would have me pick out books and they would get them and give them to me because they didn't like reading and knew I loved to do so. At the time I was happy to get more books to enjoy though looking back I wish I had tried harder to share my love of reading with my classmates. My one real gripe is regarding two issues related to playback, the volume max can vary quite a bit from one narrator to another I presume due to production methods or settings so I would appreciate an ability to make the volume louder than currently possible especially when using the built in speaker on a mobile device. The second issue is that when listening to a book in the background and playing any of a number of games that sadly force you to watch ads occasionally to play for free it can sometimes fail to allow restarting the narration after the ads and rather default to any random music file you have on the device.

    I’ve been an Audible member for over 15 years (well before being merged w/Amazon). It’s my favorite App and I use it more than any other. I have ADHD and LOVE to read but get stuck trying to read traditional books and retain the story or information. With Audible I’ve averaged almost 5 books per month with each book’s average length of about 11hrs. Here’s the big “but”. I have Audible Apps on my iPhones, iPads and MacBook but it won’t relay to either of my two watches. I get unnecessary Apps like JetBlue but no Audible. If anyone knows what I can do to fix this I would be grateful. Being able to listen to Audiobooks without my iPhone nearby would be incredibly useful but I just cannot figure out why it won’t show up on my list of Apps on my Watches. Despite my Watch problem I give this App my highest recommendation. This goes especially for my brothers and sisters that suffer from ADHD, impaired vision or other maladies that makes tradition reading difficult or impossible. It’s an awesome subscription service and App especially if you’re more successful than me in getting it on your Apple Watch.

    I love the product, I’ve been listening to all sorts of books since I started driving across the country for work. I like how you can download books and listen to them going over the mountains where you don’t have reception. I do not like how it crashes sometimes when there is not great signal. Sometimes even when the book has been downloaded to the device, the app won’t play the title because it can’t connect to the server. It’s very annoying when you straight up don’t have reception for 45 minutes through the mountains. I also wish they had a section of the search/library for “series” that would keep the books in chronological order. I was listening to a couple of series using the plus catalogue and didn’t know what the next book was. It would tell you only at the end of the book, but since I drive and sometimes didn’t have reception, it wasn’t always a option. Also, hitting next in series would usually not give you the option to listen to the title without purchasing, even when it was “included” if you did a normal search for it.

    Love this app so much. Had it for years and does not disappoint. Thank you for being here, existing and being in my life. Such a great idea and concept. Sorry it took me so long to rate this amazing app! Get it, you won’t regret it, so many wonderful title and books and not over priced! Update: This is still a great app but it needs to be said that the home tab is waaay too much noise visually speaking. Way too many suggestions and advertised books for an app. It’s not a clean look and honestly it’s ugly. The app needs a more sleek minimalist feel for ease of use. I literally get anxiety seeing the homepage with all the extra books recommendations, catalogues and so forth. When I use the app I just want to get to the point not be defaulted to a crazy looking page foot of book images. Please higher someone to update your app comestically. With the IOS update people are discovering less is more with widgets and less apps. Try to use that same concept, I want to see recommendations make it the last tab not the first. Have the first tab be the library and instead of a line chart of books maybe give the option of line display or chart display, just something more sleek please. Update 03 May 2021: The app skips the audio for some reason and when the screen goes dark it stops playing. Please fix this. This is pretty frustrating and my settings don’t have anything that causes this to happen.

    There are several annoying features to the app. Most annoying to me is the placement of the "Clip" button. I'm constantly touching the button unintentionally when I pick up my phone and end up with dozens of bookmarks I didn't want. If the button can't be moved to a different location, then please have it be a 2-step process to place a bookmark, as it is for changing "Speed" or setting the "Sleep Timer". Next most annoying feature is that when I minimize the screen of the book I'm listening to, the app always goes back to the "Home" location. Why can't it just be set to stay on "Library" when that's where I left it? Library is the feature I use most often but the foul app keeps resetting itself!

    Audible works great, I can find great titles, get samples of the voices, and I even get a free credit with the higher tier subscription with a few more “premium” titles. The issue for audible is turning the everyday subscriber into a customer; like myself. I pay $10 and watch hundreds of movies and tv shows that last a few hours to hundreds of hours depending on the title. The budgets are bigger, the price for the customer is lower. I pay $10 and listen to thousands of songs, many just a few minutes, some can be hours. I also enjoy podcasts... for no additional fee. Now we get to Audible where I pay $12, more than the others, and get 1 pick and like at an old movie store I become limited and find it difficult to choose the only free title I’ll get because the rest you have to pay for. I loved the audio books, but I’ll never stay a subscriber when I have other content for cheaper and without a secondary pay wall. I listened to a single book in a week, so that’s 4 books a month on average. Since only 1 is free, I could be paying $30, $50, $100 more for the other titles. I signed up with a free trial, stayed for a month after, but will sadly cancel after as they haven’t nailed down a way to monetize in a way that I can have access to hundreds of premium free titles for a low monthly cost.

    Recent changes made the layout of the app a lot worse. Access to wishlist is only available by finding the in-app browser and then navigating through the web pages to the "full site". Also, the home screen is now just a sign-up button and instructions on how to sign-up? I'm already a user and signed up, why is this on the landing page?

I dislike being asked if I am "enjoying audible" and asked to rate it so I'm taking off a second star. I pay enough for the books to not have to deal with solicitation.

    This app used to be great. Recently though, whenever I try to use it, there are annoying lags in responsiveness. I press play and it won’t play for 10 seconds. Or I try to view my cloud library and have to wait a few seconds before the app will switch from device view to cloud. The Bluetooth connection has also become glitchy, especially when connected to my car system - I press pause on my car’s screen and it takes a few seconds to pause, then starts again, then finally pauses, over the course of another 5 seconds. The app also no longer responds if I try to control play with my phone while it’s connected to my cars bluetooth (at least, it didn’t today). Lastly, if I’m in the library tab and want to look up info on a downloaded book, I can’t just tap the three dots at the right hand side of the book without the book starting to play. This is annoying if I’m currently listening to something (or talking to someone on the phone - the book still starts playing!) and want to look up info on a book. I’ve been using this app for a few years, and this is the first time I’ve really been frustrated with it. Until now, it’s mostly operated smoothly.

    Ok, so literally every update has an MASSIVE update to the UX. And that’s fine, but when you’re shifting the UX for an app in such a fundamental way, you really should be *improving* it. I’ve been an audible member since at least 2009 and while I know I’m a bit old school, I do think I shouldn’t have to search my entire library for the book I’m downloading- I think it should autosort like it used to do that it’s automatically on to. I know I probably have an issue as I’m rounding on 1000 books in my library but we all have our hoarding things 😉 Genres are great but it would be awesome if they’d collapse them down into parent categories (children’s audiobooks vs kid’s?). Also, PLEASE bring back the pop-up that asks whether or not you want to skip to the synced point or not. The banner isn’t reliable and it’s so annoying to have to waste time to go to the beginning every time I want to relisten to a book, whereas before I just used to be able to click once. I’m not a huge fan of the new Home Screen, and I’d love the option to be able to just be able to show your library every time, but at least I understand the marketing reasons behind those decisions.

    I’ve been an Audible member from longer than I can remember and the years when the app was simple were good years, however over the last few years the app gets more complicated to use because they keep cramming new features in the app that I’ll never use. And yet they keep cramming stuff in there and the app requires a degree in Computer Science to decode it. I’ve invested a lot of money in buying these books to have them lost in an app that’s trying to do too much. Re: the loss of the 30 sec forward/back. They didn’t get rid of it, they just made it an either/or. If you go in settings, under player, you can either choose chapter or 30 sec. You can’t have both anymore. I wish you would make an Audible Classic app that just had the library and the player and left out the other stuff that I don’t use or at least provide a setting to simplify the app. I hope you would care about your customers who have spent a lot of money over the years to put out a product that is easy to navigate. That would be the right thing to do!

    I absolutely love this app because being dyslexic, listening to the books makes reading much more enjoyable. So far I haven’t had any of the skipping or App malfunction issues, that I’ve seen a lot of the other reviews speak about. I have only 3 main complaints since my subscription. 1- it’s not very user friendly when trying to find my wishlist. 2- I wish I could customize my library to my specific liking to keep my series in order. & 3- nothing I’m interested in is part of the unlimited library, so having to wait a month for just one credit is starting to be not worth the cost, especially if it’s not a very long book. If there were titles in the all access library that I liked it would 100% be worth it. Even if they gave two credits a month would be so great. Other than those three things I love it. The narrator has been wonderful with the way she brings the characters to life and really makes listening to her enjoyable. Hopefully the audible team will take these suggestions into consideration.

    I love Audible and the option it gives me to enjoy books when I don't have time or free hands for print. However, i do take issue with the mobile app for iPhone, the lack of choices in some sub-genres and the choices of narrators for certain bodies of work. (1.) It's very inconvenient not to be able to purchase through the app. It's also annoying to not be able to change the view from list to grid view or to be able to arrange the books into groups/collections. (2.) I find it quite disturbing that I can find endless content for MM dragon pregnancies and other such unique categories of books, but I struggle to find more than the bare minimum in African American and interracial (not "multicultural" romance) by well known and seasoned authors. I am inundated with self-published "urban" romance, but that is not the same thing and not what all people who enjoy AA and IR lit are looking for. (3.) When I do luck up and find such content, the narrators for characters of color are rarely to never actually individuals of color. Yes we can tell, and yes it matters.

    Bookmarks are still breaking, this is caused by the app crashing any time it is opened while the app is sleeping, the current position is reset to the start of the book that is open - this is a bug, not a settings issue - if this basic and essential function worked, i'd give 5 stars, but currently have to scan through books multiple times a day to refind my position

    A generally good app. Lots of books and podcasts, some included in your membership, and others not. But it has a huge tech/connectivity problem. Most of the time, I can't open my home page, instead I get a 'oops something went wrong' message. I know it's not my network because I connect to other apps just fine. Ruins what would have been a good app experience.

The wish list I have keeps resetting to the top. I have a hard time navigating the store now. Overall, the quality has plummeted on what was a phenomenal app and service before.

    I love this app, and use it a ton. But it is so frustrating that it constantly crashes. I'll be in the middle of listening to a book, and it will just shut off.     App is generally great, prices are unsustainable for my budget, which is where my problem comes in. I bought extra credits, built up to 4 or 5 then spent them all. I then put my account on hold or pause. Weeks later as I went into my library, all those new books were locked. I really don't care what technicalities or policy caused it. I paid for the books. They should be available. A shady back door move to keep you paying, is what that is. Also...

    For years audible set the standard for the audiobook experience. Recently, however, they have changed things so that now opening the app is aggravating. It forces you to wait while it shows you a whirling ring of "you must wait on something that is more important than what you paid for". Audible, give me access to my downloaded books immediately when I open the app. Do your digital housekeeping after that.

    🎉 It did improve when the sleep timer was restored to the main page. Thank you! The purchasing feature is clumsy and annoying to use. It is difficult to find books from any for sale list. On my phone, the wish list and lists of books offered in different special categories are in a series of brief “pages” and to get to the end one of a long list must go through each page to the bottom in order to turn to the next segment. If you stop mid-list it is necessary to start over. GRRR! Also, no chance to go to a given page directly. As a result, I have no idea what is on the last 80% of my wish list or special offer lists or book category lists: takes too much time to peruse them all at one sitting or skip back page by page. A minor change in the last update I find annoying: when a book is finished, a persistent popup page makes it not possible to go back or go to different book without rating the one just completed. Previously one could opt out of the popup rating page. I normally rate books but do not always wish to do so. I have found a way out of it but it’s also annoying to have to do this extra step. On my iPad I can close the app completely and when I return to it rating demand is gone.

    This app is suffering from iTunes-itis as it tries to incorporate features that detract from its central purpose, which is storing and playing back audiobooks. It is getting bloated and slow, and harder and harder to navigate. The app always tries to phone home even before playing a fully downloaded boom, ostensibly to check whether you've listened to the book elsewhere and to synchronize. On the handful of occasions I've actually used that misbegotten feature, no syncing actually occurred--so the effect is that I'm now continually waiting for the app to let me start playing my audiobook all to enable a broken feature that I don't even want. Solid design work, gang. The useless "Home" tab has been joined by an equally useless "Discover" page. There's no way to adjust recommendations, so if you listen to a lot of audiobooks in one genre your recommendations will rapidly become clogged with third- and fourth-tier efforts from within that genre--and nothing else. The developers, having saddled the app with a bunch of gameified achievements, have thoughtfully buried them in the settings menu, where at least they're out of the way, though presumably they're still contributing to the app's slowness. Too bad there's not a way to get an app that just does the basics this one is supposed to cover.

    I enjoy having almost any book I’d like at the touch of my fingertips. Especially when a really great book is coming to a close and I’m mid drive or in the middle of the night and I’m unable to jump in the car and run off and grab another book. However, it’s is unfortunate you cannot buy books from the comfort of your app. It’s also uneasy to navigate the app. Functionality needs simplified and the search capability in the app needs attention. I was given a subscription to The Wall Street Journal when I became a member, which I love! However, it often does not update to the current dates read and is impossible to search in the app. I also like to save some of the free “podcast” type offerings Audible provides with your membership, but again, you cannot always access from your app as they randomly disappear. I’m forced to login to the full site, but even then locating “podcasts” (not purchased books) saved is a challenge. None of this would deter me from using audible as I love to read but spend a lot of time commuting in my car and audible allows me the opportunity to enjoy more books than I could otherwise. Though i do hope they progress the usability of their app sooner rather than later.

    Used audio books before and it’s great. HOWEVER, for some messed up reason the first topics that are suggested are the following: Economic History of Racism, Raising an Antiracist and Poetry of black healing. Mind you these are topics with multiple literatures within each topic. Stop shoving this down people’s throats. Go express your guilt somewhere else in private. It’s clear you have guilt pent up and should probably seek help. For the rest of us, we wanted to use this app to simply read our favorite book to us (which I highly doubt has anything to do with racism). I mean, why don’t you have a bunch of topics on the front page about healthy eating. Far more people are negatively impacted by poor eating habits than racism. How about books on “not becoming child molester”? Clearly sex trafficking minors/children is a larger problem than racism and deserves a topic above the rest. Instead of going on and on, I believe I have made my case. Leave your personal opinions at home and make the app more like a business or library. Customer “walks in” - for lack of a better term - and goes to a genre or topic of their choosing. I don’t need multiple banners and flyers to guide me to a topic that you feel guilty about in your personal life.

    Plus is completely useless. The app doesn't connect to the plus selections. When I try to continue a book it just sits there trying to connect. Reset my phone and reinstalled the app. Don't bother with this CRapp. Even iTunes works better. There isn't any point in reaching out to them for help. I've never received a response after multiple emails.

Before, the library section (which is the content I have via the app) was pretty well organized and could be perfectly navigated between what was actually on my device and what wasn’t. Now it’s a mess of a screen with huge empty margins taking most of the space (a recent addition to mobile development that I don’t understand because I though the point was to USE the space as effectively as possible) and the scrolling is WAY to floaty (I only have to barely have to have my finger on the screen and it’ll move) Now, honestly Audible is a little to expensive of a subscription service for my taste. They only give you 1 credit at a time and STILL treat their service more like a rental than actual ownership (so I don’t know why they don’t move to a “unlimited” model subscription and stop acting like their credits actually mean anything) I already had bad experiences with the service in the past with the service, but decided to try to give it another shot. I don’t think I’ll give them anymore past this. The quality of the app is quickly going downhill (besides what I already mentioned above I also keep getting warning messages about being on a slow connection when my internet is just fine) and there are now MUCH more better services around that handle audiobooks better than they do.

    Great app but I didn't realized they had been charging me for 3 months. Then when you try to cancel, the cancelation button only shows up on Desktop version of the browser. So why you have an app? Then it doesn't allow you to remove the credit card either!!! It's annoying how far they go for our money by making things harder for us.

    I use this app because I have to. It used to be great, but over the course of the past couple years, it’s become apparent that nobody at Audible actually uses or cares about this app. There are random crashes at least weekly, where the book will just stop playing and you have to restart the app. It refuses to honor the “don’t sync playback position” settings, so listening to the same book someone else in my family is listening to is a headache, since I have to constantly go back to my spot. They changed the “swipe to delete” feature to include an option to “add to favorites.” Like, honestly, how often does a user really add a book to their favorites, vs how often does a user want to remove a book from their device? Here’s a hint: literally every book will at some point need to be removed from the device. Unless literally every book is also added to your Favorites, then this is a bad feature and should be removed. Also, when opening the app fresh, why on earth is the first page ads for new books? 9/10 times I want to go to the book I’ve been listening to most recently, not shop for a new one. And while you’re at it, make the Extend Sleep Timer feature smart about the sleep timer you just set. A default of 30 minutes is useless to someone who sets 15 or 20 minute sleep timers.

    I've used this app for years, it's great, but every year they seem to take more control over what members can and cannot do. They go back on their initial word. Their customer service is very manipulative about this. They don't provide clear answers. Their answers are vague and unhelpful at best. Every year it seems I'm more restricted with my account and the options they initially promise when you first make an account. I guess they don't expect you to be a long-time customer because they certainly don't value their long-term customers. The more time I spend with this company, the less friendly they are. This is why I've decided to look into other audiobook companies, and they provide far more options and better long-term service than audible does all around. You know how they promise to return audiobooks no matter what? That no longer counts. In 5 months, I've returned about 4 books, and I've returned many more books in previous years in a single month, never had an issue. They are warning me they will take away my account privileges to return audiobooks if I don't stop returning audiobooks out of nowhere when I've returned less than ever before? Blackmail? Not a good move audible. This is big tech people; if they fool you into becoming a long-term customer, you'll find yourself being blackmailed.

    I was incredibly excited to get my Audible subscription! I signed up for the most expensive plan because I love to read and I love audiobooks! To say I regret it now is an understatement. My card was charged and that my subscription never appeared in the app or online. I contacted Audible customer support and though they were friendly they told me my problem was with Apple because I had signed up to the app. I said there’s nothing they could do on their end. So I contacted Apple they told me that billing had gone through with no problems and that the subscription should be reflected in my membership. They said that if it did not it was a problem with Audible. I went back-and-forth like this three times with neither of them excepting responsibility or being able to help me. I finally gave up and demanded a refund for my subscription which I will happily processed they recommended that if I wanted to try again I call audible and make sure there wasn’t a problem with my membership first. I did this in the entire time the support specialist just tried to get my credit card information so they could sign me up again. I was beyond mad and it was not the time. I believe it could be a good app but when the app has such a problem that you pay and it won’t even show up that’s an issue. 😡

    Today is April 12, 2021 and after finishing this 30 hour long book, I understand more clearly than ever why our country is so divided politically, racially, and economically and it is because of the presidency of Barack Obama. He was an expert at hiring groups of experts in all areas of United States politics and making rules, regulations passing taxes and policies which he thought totally would be responsible for the success of the future United States of America. I never heard him talk about pride in the United States Constitution or the great history of our country!! He only discusses the accolades of government today and all the great that they do! He takes credit for all of the successes, he blames the Republican Party for all the challenges he faces and to hear him talk about minorities, immigrants, African Americans and any person other than the white race you would think that they did nothing to help shape this great country. Yes they made mistakes when it came to race and slavery but many inroads were made in racial equality which seem to have gone in the wrong direction under his administration. The United States is now liberal, pro-government and NOT rooted in hard work, sacrifice, discipline, God, prayer or the Constitution of the United States of America. I will read more books like this, yes I have much to learn and understand.

    Spent 30+ minutes on the phone with super annoying and rude first customer service rep to cancel a subscription that I hated but couldn't find a way to cancel on my own. ( csr said to send pix cuz I should've been able to but it may be a website issue ) She had to transfer me because she was incapable of helping me. I ended up with a refund from the next gentleman which is nice but, was not my goal, the acct is still active for some reason and they are not capable of deleting my acct because I cannot remember my old address zip, since I gave them like four tries and googled the old address, it must be mistyped in the system when I entered it. I verified every other part of my account including my card information and they still could not assist me to delete the acct. I have many recurring service fees from other companies and have had dealings with their customer services and I can honestly and truly say please do not waste your money on this garbage company, keep it and go buy a real book, order one that doesn't sound like a wet blanket is reading it, and that you can cancel and have control over your membership and charges as well as not waste your time dealing with incompetent customer service that will not help you.

    I have used this app for several years and with two different model iPhones paired with two different apple watches. The app just stops playing and loses connection for no reason. This is disconcerting when connected by Bluetooth in the car, but I can usually recover it from the car screen. It is, however, completely unacceptable when running with my phone in an armband (using either a wired or Bluetooth headset). I have to stop running and recover the playback from the phone through the armband. I don’t know if the phone is receiving a different signal or running a different process when this happens, but it has forced me to download books into Apple’s inadequate books app, which at least doesn’t stop working periodically. The app also doesn’t respond adequately to Siri. The Apple Watch app extension is a joke. An audiobook that played 5 minutes before suddenly just disappears, and the watch app cleverly tells me I can download a book using the phone app - which usually crashes before completing the download. When it does work, it doesn’t sync with your reading position on the phone. Stick to the Apple Books app on the iPhone, and hope they add a working extension for the watch!

    Let me be clear, if it wasn’t set up the way it currently is I would rate this much higher. My problem is the credit system tied to the subscription. I have no way of purchasing a reasonable number of credits at a reasonable price (seriously, $10 a credit would cover most paperback novels) and no way of purchasing individual titles at a rate of my choosing. Instead I either have to wait a month until my next credit is available or I need to upgrade my subscription and pay an obscene amount of money just to get 12 credits, after which I’d be stuck for the rest of the year. Who thought this was a good business plan?! I find it hard to believe that Audible is making more off the subscription than they would be by selling the individual books or at least by adding in an option to purchase additional books at a reasonable rate on top of the subscription. There is an entire series I would like to listen to that would likely take about a month of me listening to that I can’t get because of this stupid system. Let alone all the other novels in the franchise that I’d listen to too. Audible needs to do better because this set up is asinine.
