Tech had problems setting it up had to come numerous times but finally got it working. No problems since. Great not having to get out of bed and change temperature. Great when away during winter months not have ti worry about temperature being below freezing and causing pipes to freeze as long as you’re not to far away. Had a Honeywell before. I liked it a little better. This one does the job
  • Great app, terrible rebrand Feb 17, 2021

I’m not sure of the reasoning behind the rename and rebrand but what a way to miss the mark. The app, as it did before, works great but it’s now got a name and icon that looks like someone’s child came up with as part of an 8th grade homework assignment. Here’s hoping someone paid you a lot of money to buy the Nexia name, but could you not have spent more than a couple of minutes coming up with a new name that people will actually remember? “AS Air Home” isn’t that name. And the icon of an AS?!? Somehow even worse because someone clearly phoned that one in. You should have called the product Apple Sauce...or better yet, Porkchops & Apple Sauce! I sincerely hope this isn’t the first step to defunct product...

Wish the app could tell me more of the things that the main display tells me. Wish I could add my events to my scheduling and that heating and cooling could be scheduled separately. I'd like it to be 70 in the summer and the winter but heating and cooling have to be a few degrees apart which makes sense if the thermostat is set to heating and cooling but doesn't if it is only set to one.
  • New App Doesn’t Always Work Apr 1, 2021

    By Mike1691
The new American Standard app doesn’t work as well. My system has been running all morning and yet the App says the compressor is not running. Well the backup heat is not running so how am I getting heat? The app should be modified to show separate indicators for when the compressor, aux heat (furnace) and the fan are each running. I would find that more useful especially when I am not at home. I would also like to see a better variety of colors used on the history graphs. Some of the colors are too similar and I can’t tell the difference. Agree with others that the Nexia app was more reliable.

Tech Support is good. The app did not work immediately after I installed it. I had to call the support line. That caused me to have to de-register and re-register my thermostat. After a few hoops, the app recognized the thermostat. After the tech was off the phone, I tried to turn off the Allergy filter and set the filter to Auto. It did not work. I have mixed ideas about the app. I don't mind going to the thermostat to make changes. I think the folks at American Standard need to troubleshoot this app more extensively as it appears to be somewhat fluky... I gave it so many stars because they want to do a good thing and they added some whistles and bells. Like all things, time wounds all heals....

Night mode no longer works. Otherwise it’s the same as Nexia was. I was also hoping to be able to set it to where people can’t turn it below or above a certain temperature. Ecobee had this setting so I didn’t have to worry about coming home to a house with the system set on 60, instead it wouldn’t allow a user to go below the temperature I selected. Same goes for heat. If ecobee worked with my system, I’d switch back. Should have done my research I suppose!

App works great to control both AC and Heater from anywhere. This is important with the weather changes we are seeing in Northwest Arkansas. Works as intended.

Love being able to control my heating and cooling from my phone, especially when I'm not home. I turned off my heater when I went on vacation last month and turned it back on via my phone about 4 hours before I got back. The house was toasty warm when we entered instead of being down at 56 degrees. It also has a history graph to let you know how much the system runs on a daily basis. Five 🌟stars.

Like it much more than the nest we had in our other house because it's easy to understand. I don't have to think if it's eco mode or off. I just turn off system until we're on the way home. Control of humidity is a plus and it's designed by a furnace manufacturer. Works fine with Google home app if you're lazy.

The app looks like it works as the Nexia one did. After the first use, every time I open it my phone restarts. I reinstalled the app and same thing worked once then gave my phone fits and won't work. The original stated issue seems to be a phone problem. The app works great on my new phone.

This app does not work. I tried switching from the Nexia app (which always worked). It keeps asking me to navigate to the Nexia enrollment screen to enter a 5 digit code but that screen does not exist. There are no instructions how to find the screen and (surprisingly) a Google search yielded zero solutions. I've tried every button/option on my thermostat; there is no place to enter the code. Something is defective about this app so I'll keep using the Nexia app for now.
  • So so thermostat Mar 31, 2021

    By yhoidc13
This thermostat has a lot of features but not very useful. The schedule portion is not easy to set up or change. The display is very difficult to follow. It is basically a timeline instead of a calendar style display. I was told this expensive thermostat also had the feature to adjust start time to reach the desired temp by the time set in the schedule. It does not. It changes at the time programmed and runs until set temp is reached. I had to back up the time by at least 15 minutes to try to have the temp reach the set temp and time. Overall I would not recommend this thermostat.
  • Poor changeover, Mar 13, 2021

    By Craig-Jill
I am away for the first time in a year and cannot control my system, I will go home to a cold house because of it. No reasonable warning or grace period before changing. Bought this system at a premium to assure I had no problems and it has failed me for the second time. The last time my system was disconnected and I had no heat because you upgraded the system and it failed. It was freezing when I woke up. They had to cancel the upgrade to get my system working again. Your technology stinks. Pushing buttons doesn’t always work! Very disappointed!!!

Were forced to go from Nexia to American Standard for our thermostat remote control. Nexia worked great. American standard is when the nightmare began, forcing us to deal with total incompetence. The new piece of junk cut us off and disabled our thermostat. The directions were useless, one instruction said wait for a prompt which never appeared. All I want is my money back and a non app system. American Standard is the pits and and have a totally clueless IT department. They should hire Nexia. HELP! They got one star because there is nothing lower.
  • What? Mar 16, 2021

    By goodbyeyall
I’ve had this system for over two years now. All of a sudden I have to upgrade. Why? New app is asking me to do things with my old controller that is not there. I have kept a log of all my original setup information and nothing works. If my controller quits I’ll rip it out and replace it. Less headaches. Really bad app. I gave it a one but, would like to give it a negative number. Maybe a -10.

Did not go over smoothly. Logged me out and now your support doesn't help or can't log back in. Your support team was useless. I work for American Standard AC and this is ridiculous. Their answer to the problem is I have to wait till I get home. Turn on the computer login to an account that i can't y even log into anyways.

It gets one star because I can't give it zero. The instructions said to enter a code in my thermostat when it asks for one. It never asked for one. Stupid. The Nexia app worked perfectly for 2 years and now there's this "upgrade" that no one asked for and they give the most vague instructions on how to set it up. And now I can't control my thermostat with my phone or with Alexa anymore
  • Challenge question. Mar 2, 2021

Downloaded the app, started to activate it and came upon the challenge question, that was not able to answer. I do not even remember setting up this question, but I tried a couple of possibilities that didn’t work. I deleted the app, and will continue to use the old app that’s tried and true.

Radical Improvement. Completely different opening splash screen. And the colors of many visual elements make more sense. Never had connection issues with prior Nexia app; same story with American Standard. Looking forward to seeing new features, now that it's an in-house app.
