There's been an annoying bug for a while now, sometimes when I want to jump back 40 seconds and there's no lyrics and I have to use the old fashioned cursor;) the song will start buffering and then randomly start another song in the queue. Fix it please. And while you're at it, a cursor should be a little bigger imo

The app is great and the music is really good quality. The playlists are awesome and play a lot of songs I like and it doesn’t get as repetitive as other streaming services. The one thing that bothers me in the latest iOS versions is that the UI is really blown up and a waste of space on a big screen iPad. It would be awesome, on this Retina display, to have the ability to change the organization of your app’s layout. I would like a more detailed screen layout more like the music app in earlier versions of iOS, like iOS 5. I used an iPad first generation after many years and the music app looks so much better on previous versions. I get the whole look of iOS 15 and how it’s supposed to be more visually appealing, but I think scrolling and clicking excessively through a bunch of oversized icons is annoying. I want an iPad not an oversized iPhone. The screen is large enough to not have to open a whole new screen and make the user click or swipe extra times to go back.

Apple… let me preface this by saying you all make a great everything. But as with all things there’s room for improvement. One suggestion I have for Apple Music is the ability to link two songs for shuffle. A lot of albums have songs that not only run into each other, but are necessary to play together. So when using your playlist on shuffle, some song transitions have no continuity and the flow is disturbed. Giving the end user the ability to decide whether or not they’d like to songs to play sequentially during shuffle would be a hit. Just make it to where two songs can be tied together. Once tied they will play together unless/until the user decides to disconnect them. I think it’ll be swell. Thanks my dudes. 🤙

Let’s start with the positives. The playlists are really great! And the browse tab is a good place to discover what’s popular and find a few new things too. But, there are a few things that ruin the experience. It’s been at least two years at this point, from iOS 13 to iOS 15, where whenever I add a song to a playlist it’s a 50/50 shot it actually gets added or not. This is definitely a bug related to iCloud Music Library that needs to get worked out. Also, when queueing songs by selecting Play Next, there’s a 20% chance they don’t actually play next and are added a few songs down on the queue. And lastly, I wish I could delete songs from my library without also removing them from my playlists. Other than that, the songs that are suggested are generally songs I like, and every so often I Shazam a song that isn’t available on Apple Music but that isn’t a big deal. Good music suggestions, but the app itself needs some work.

Has all the music you could want, a slick design, and basic features but it still feels like Apple Music is just checking the boxes for a basic music player. There are no real stand-out features separating it from the competition. Using it day-to-day it is easy to see the glaring flaws that keep it in second place. There is a song queueing system, but it isn’t practical in use. The way it is handed by competitors and by the Mac music app, where there is a play next and a play later and both are played before the rest of the playlist, is the ideal way to handle this feature. And when you do add music to up next or the library there’s a huge obstructive pop-up for each and every song. Dolby Atmos is also overly hyped and mostly just a gimmick that does not improve the vast majority of songs. They sound better on stereo since that is how they were originally mixed. Maybe this will change in the future when songs are truly mixed in Amos, but for now the feature stays off for me. The real redeeming quality of Apple Music is its integration with iOS. It’s great to use with the Apple Watch and during workouts. The live album artwork is also gorgeous, but it doesn’t show up in the library tab! TL;DR: Apple Music mostly checks boxes. There are the beginnings of what could be stand-out features, but most of the implementation is lackluster.

Love the app except for one thing: after playing music continuously for a few hours, the app won't play anymore songs. I have to close it then relaunch it. It will show the loading bar where the songs trying to load when it shouldn't. There's also times it does this after a short time, like an hour or so. My connection isn't the issue I don't think because it only does it with this app, not any other music app.

Not the best option for Android. Whenever I do a search for the first time after opening app, it doesn't give me results and so I have to search again for it to populate. They do have an extensive selection of music and sound quality is good. But you can find that with most other music services.

App needs a better shuffle algorithm. When shuffling your entire music library it should not play songs back to back by the same artist. I have Over 50 artist with multiple albums released and for some reason when I use shuffle library it will play three Halsey songs back to back or three twenty one pilots songs back to back, shouldn’t be a thing. Next , There should be a way through the mobile app to exclude songs entire albums and even artists from the shuffle, I know that you can do this from the desktop application but that is really not efficient, I shouldn’t have to move from one device to another. Next The Apple Music app needs better way for users to find new music, it be cool if there was a button you could click on a song where it would create a station but it would only play songs that are not in your library.
  • Payment issues but like the app: Dec 18, 2021

I like the app. I had it for awhile now. I had stopped purchasing songs due to confusion of payments between my bank and my iTunes account. Yesterday I purchased 9 gabby dollhouse songs for my granddaughter for 99 cent each. I looked into my bank account and again it was taken out of my bank acct. I looked into my iTunes account where I keep money in for this sort of thing and this purchase was taken out of there as well. 9 songs each out of my iTunes and my bank acct. That’s a huge problem for me. So I might as well transfer my money out of my iTunes acct back into my acct. Now I think I better check where my monthly payment is coming out of my iTune or bank or both. Maybe company can clear this for me with a number to contact them. Other than that I still have been purchasing my monthly payment so far.

The music player in android/android auto needs the like/dislike buttons on the main screen. I'm trying to get apple music to learn what types of music I like so it knows what to play and having to press multiple buttons to do that while I'm driving shouldn't be necessary. Also, the algorithms they use to play suggested music is seriously flawed. I'm trying really hard to like apple music, but I feel like they're trying to push certain songs on me instead of playing what I might actually like.

Was great when I had an iPhone. I switched to Android though and was surprised to see that Apple Music is on Android. I transfered my account over and though the app works well enough most of the time, it cuts out for no reason. Also, despite months of research and toying with the app, my phone and Android Auto, I cannot get the app to stop automatically playing whenever I turn on my car. It overides whatever I was doing and just starts playing music. Obviously this app was not optimized well.

Since the last update, my music keeps stopping randomly. I listen to music while I'm running, and the problem always occurs while I'm running. I've had this app and phone for 3 years, this is the first time I've been experiencing the issue. I have narrowed it down to the last update being the cause.
  • Too many bugs! Dec 8, 2021

    By Valera's
    1) The app won’t remember the last song or playlist that I was playing even if I don’t close the app, just switch to another app for a minute or so and it forgets what I was listening to. 2) When listing to a playlist, some songs will just play with no sound for the entire song or for the majority of the song. I’ll have to hit pause and then play to hear the music. What is that? 3) Some songs in a playlist don’t play. They just get skipped for no reason. Come on, what’s the point of a playlist of it’s gonna skip random songs and play others with no sound? 4) When I use the Shazam app from control center, it doesn’t recognize my subscription and when it redirects me to the Apple Music app, even though I am signed into my active account, Apple Music still tries to get me to subscribe all over again. How does the app itself not know to not ask me to subscribe when I am already subscribed? I checked my phone to see if it’s updated and came here to see if the app needed an update and nope, both have the most recent versions. This is in addition to many other native apple bugs. Apple uses to make things that just worked without the need to set up too much and very few bugs if any years ago. Now it seems like apple forgot to focus on it’s software and I don’t enjoy using the products anymore. Feels like I’m using windows again many years ago.
  • It’s 2021 and so many improvements needed Sep 29, 2021

A few off the top of my head: 1.) still not able reorder playlists according to date added. I’m pretty sure Apple Music is the only service that doesn’t offer this. 2.) the ability to search song within playlist! 3.) can’t save created radio stations. 4.) it doesn’t matter how much I dislike a certain artist/band/song, they will still be blasted at me in recommendations. Almost as if hitting the dislike button doesn’t actually do anything at all. 5.) for god sake…and also assuming it actually is doing something….put a simple 👍 or 👎 on the now playing screen to simplify the recommendation tayloring, right now you make your user take an additional unnecessary step but hiding them in the 3 dot menu. 6.) block artist option. 7.) allow us to edit our preferred artists/bands (like when first setting up Apple Music. I’m sure there are more other users can suggest but those are the ones that grind my gears

I'm constantly reminded why I love my Samsung so much. My wife switched back over to android. We have been dealing with ridiculous subscription charges for months and can't seem to locate them. Told us to try and cancel through here and there's no way to do it. We literally had to cancel her card and get a new one because of this BS.

it would be nice if we could get a download all button for the main library. I personally don't have 4 hours to scroll through and press download on every song. airplay doesn't work and gives the same error everytime. yes it worked before yes the device I'm streaming to is in fact airplay compatible. I can't believe a multi-billion dollar company could release an app with this many bugs.

0/5 stars (it makes me write 1/5 to post). If your device isn't an Apple device and someone else (not the primary user/ the actual person paying for service) does then it always automatically changed the phone number to the Apple device making it impossible to do anything. They make you jump through 50 hoops to do the simplest of things such as change a password. Oh and 2 times now the app quit working/ wouldn't play music so had to unistal reinstall and jump through the hoops all over again.

It will no longer open on my Google pixel 3xl phone - it flashes open the closes immediately. I've talked with Verizon, who sent me to apple who sent me too Google - no one could give me an answer on fixing app. Sad, had so many great songs saved, now I can't get to them. Not sure if anyone else has had this happen. ...will be dropping this service.
  • Music app used to work with CDs I own. Jan 12, 2022

    By tomohisaw
Lately there are more and more songs from CDs I own that are greyed out when trying to play on my iPhone. I am able to play them on my laptop but once I move them onto my phone, the music app says they’re not available in my region as if somehow I’ve moved regions and only some of the songs from the same CD. There seems to be no concern about fixing this since Apple Music only benefits from people buying songs they already own from the Apple Music store. I expect they will end up not being able to play any songs from CDs but will expect you to buy everything from their store. Nice that this app comes preinstalled but the more you try to control peoples choices, the more they will be forced to choose other music apps and possibly other phones altogether. Apple, you may make some things well but if this is by design, then you’re making the wrong choice and will end up driving your customers away.

I switched from Spotify to Apple Music cause Spotify still has not introduced HiFi like Apple did in like June. The lossless audio is great. Apple Music is also very good on my MacBook too, so I am definitely keeping this streaming service. But I think the android app needs the sound check feature because it really annoying me when songs have different volume levels. But overall, very good streaming service. Update: App is still performing well, but I still think the app need sound check.
  • Needs Preference options Nov 3, 2021

    By My Lord 42
Love this app, but I think it needs it own preference options separate from full phone settings. I’d, personally, like to set it to not play explicit songs without having to set parental controls for my entire phone. Also, I think if I click a song in my library I could have an easier option to play just that song. I’m thinking if you click a song, it pops up options “Play song,” “Play album,” “Play artist,” while keeping play next as a hold song title menu option. Then after you choose, you get the “Clear next,” “Keep next” options. Then in your preferences these options could be removed, in which case they are put in the hold song title menu. Basically, I’d like to be able to start auto play from a single song in my library and not have explicit songs come up. Maybe there could be an “Auto play from this song” option as well. Oh, and maybe “block artist” option? Many people have an artist or two they can’t stand. Thanks for all the music, just wanted to throw some ideas out there.

apple music has all the music you could possibly want, but something that bothers me, so so much is when it just randomly stops playing and when you try to replay the song it simply says something like “URL was not found in the server”, it gets really annoying especially when it happens before the best part of your favorite song, something close to that is that sometimes when you’re playing your music playlist it just randomly skips songs saying, once again that the url was not found.. i have read a bunch of reviews and no one pointed this out, seems to be a problem my iphone has since it doesn’t happen in my mac, the rest is honestly pretty good

  • Update to Rename Songs on your iPhone, instead of Mac?? Dec 18, 2021

    By filtervibes
I love almost everything about Apple Music. That your library can be endless! However I wish their was a way to make creating playlists easier, and more effective. Also could you please do an update where we have the choice to rename each and every one of our songs? I know we can already do that on Macs, but it’s get confusing for me and sometimes the changes don’t get made back to my iphone. Having the option to rename our own titles of songs, genre of songs, and album names, and album artwork covers (that can be from our camera roll) would be awesome ! Hope the team takes this into consideration, thank you! :)

  • Love the app but have to switch now Dec 27, 2021

I’ve been a huge advocate of the Apple Music since when it came out primarily due to the UI and it’s user friendliness. Also the music pool is so good with almost every indie music on the market. Biggest issues I had that ultimately made me switch: 1. I cannot share my playlist- For ppl who love music, this is love language to them. To share playlists. This is a fun part of building playlist as well at least for me. The problem is no one around me has Apple Music and the system is very anti to potential subscribers. I had to add my Apple Music playlist to a different app playlist, which is double my time and ended up thinking of changing to a different app. 2. I thought of going back to Apple Music due to its superior quality of music selection and better UI. Then, I realized that if you resubscribe, your 5+ yr old playlist is long gone. Not only is Apple Music very hard to convince potential subscribers to join, it’s even harder to allow past subscribers to come back for this sole reason. I’m writing this review in hopes that Apple Music fix these kind of issues so I can potentially come back as a subscriber. But my gut feeling tells me that Apple Music will never change and it will probably lose its battle against other competitors.
  • Playing when it’s not playing at the Control Center Nov 3, 2021

    By ian.m.smith27
Everytime when I’m not playing a Music like I have closed the App, the Music keeps showing at the Control Center when it’s not playing. Everytime when I close the App, it’s not there. Later on when I am not playing Music, it keeps showing up on the Control Center. The Music title and the artist will show up at the Control Center but it not playing. And also, I wasn’t even playing the Music at this App. I come here sometimes to play and listen to Music on this App but, when I close the App, the Music doesn’t show up at the Control Center after I closed the App. But, after a few minutes or hours, the Music will show up at the Control Center when it’s not playing. And this App needs to be update to the next version so it won’t show up when I’m not using the App at the Control Center.

Need the ability to pin playlists Needs a better handoff between devices. A button to press inside the app to select the device you want to stream from and it takes over from that point in a song (like the rival service offers) instead of having to fiddle with control center and get harassed about another device already playing music. I’m fully updated on iOS and some songs are still stopping at the 15 second mark (the timer keeps moving, but there’s no audio). Tried force quitting and restarting the app, deleted all downloads and re-downloaded, issue persists. New Music recommendations (for me) are not good. No matter how many times I dislike a song, it or something similar is constantly recommended to me. I make sure to love the songs I really enjoy to get better recommendations, but it still seems like random things are offered to me. I’ve used Apple Music since it was released and it’s like the service has no idea what I like even though I like or dislike everything I listen to. Related to dislikes, we need to be able to dislike an artist (like on the green competitor… “I don’t like this artist”). It does look nice though. And besides the occasional song pausing that I mentioned earlier, it works pretty well.

You used to be able to listen to 1 artist for almost 10hrs straight. Go to top songs hit play and it would play for an entire 10hr shift. Now for some reason that has changed. Now the few artists I select it doesn't go through their complete library it only plays 2hrs of music. ☹. That's getting frustrating 😒

  • Too many bugs! Dec 8, 2021

I’m sure there are more other users can suggest but those are the ones that grind my gears

it would be nice if we could get a download all button for the main library. I personally don't have 4 hours to scroll through and press download on every song. airplay doesn't work and gives the same error everytime. yes it worked before yes the device I'm streaming to is in fact airplay compatible. I can't believe a multi-billion dollar company could release an app with this many bugs.

Can't play on multiple home speakers for 9.99 a month. Error saying you are listening on another device. When nothing is playing. Also signing into this without having an apple device is almost impossible. Especially if you forget your password. Really for Apple devices not Android

Since the last update, my music keeps stopping randomly. I listen to music while I'm running, and the problem always occurs while I'm running. I've had this app and phone for 3 years, this is the first time I've been experiencing the issue. I have narrowed it down to the last update being the cause.

Fail. Can not redeem my digital movie. Forces installation of apple music, which fails to open. No other digital movie service forces you to use an app. Steer clear of apple TV and their Digital movie service. That's $30 I'll never get back and a movie bought and paid for that I'll. Ever be able to view streaming. You've been warned.
  • Form over function Sep 30, 2021

    By ActionJacksonTheMainAttraction
Apple’s design cred has been on a downward trend in recent years, focusing more on aesthetics and making things pretty instead of actually useable. This is no more apparent than the Music app. There is well established UX research that demonstrates proper application of grid views over list views and Apple completely ignores this in the Music app, putting heavy emphasis on irrelevant album covers. It’s terrible. Grids views from a UI standpoint are supposed to encompass whole categories, and be familiar to the audience. I don’t know remember what 1000s of album covers in my own music look like, nor am I familiar with the album covers of new music. I have the iPhone mini so I can only see -at most- 4 names of songs at a time. It’s so bad I just went with a 3rd party app. Apple, please stop trying to reinvent the wheel and be flashy. Focus on the function of the app - finding and playing music so your users don’t have to wade through screens full of album covers.

I couldn't access the iTunes libary section without paying a monthly subscription fee. I shouldn't have to do that JUST TO PLAY PURCHASED MUSIC OF WHICH I BOUGHT from iTunes off of my Windows computer, as I don't have either a iPhone, a iPad, a iPod Touch or a iMac. You're basically paying for a service JUST to access your library of music that you've already paid for! Ridiculous. Fix this, Apple! Give us an iTunes app for Android!
  • Downloaded Songs Stop Playing/Incomplete Sep 29, 2021

By Great App, One Major Flaw
I am so sick of this issue, it ruins the whole app. The rest of it is fine. But this is awful: Most of my favorite downloaded songs in my library just stop playing after exactly 15 seconds, as though they didn’t download properly. Rarely, but occasionally, it’s at a different point in the song. But often at exactly 15 seconds. Then, other songs don’t play at all even though they’re downloaded (recently…and showing as downloaded). And a lot of songs have issues continuing to play when dropping an Internet connection (like switching to airplane mode about to take off) even though they’re downloaded, but as though they’re being steamed. Very, very annoying when pretty much every flight over the last two years (latest iOS updates including iOS 15 haven’t fixed this) involve listening to whatever one or two songs on the album my iPhone decides to let me listen to all the way through. Unacceptable for paying for a subscription every month, especially when a good chunk of these songs are ones I put into my library years ago from CDs I actually own, etc. And yes, I’ve tried deleting downloads and redownloading. It works sometimes, but has issues for many songs even still after redoing the process, just like the original downloads. Apple, please fix this.

It's vary buggy vary unreliable and unfinished 30 minutes trying to figure out why it just does nothing crashes freaks out and I'm tired of it if you won't fix your legacy don't do it at all and it doesn't stop on Android no it's even worse on iphone I have tried giving all phones a chance at doing it right but the truth is we are still in the stone ages when it comes to technology pure and simple and before you say spend a few thousand dollars on something that will work for 2years.... No!!!!
