  • Far From Perfect but Still the Best Jan 11, 2021

When paired with the Anglr Bullseye, this is the best app for logging fish. I use it every time I fish and, for the most part, it lets me log catches without getting in my way. That being said, it’s far from perfect. Data analysis is truly dismal compared to other logging apps. It crashes at least once per trip. The Bullseye doesn’t always connect. You can’t really enter past trips or catches because it won’t save changes you make to the date. The BackTrack function is awful at identifying pictures with fish in it. It’s awkward to use if your using two rods. And in some cases the virtual tackle box is limiting (it lets you enter the bait you're using, but you have to make a separate entry each time you put that bait on a different rig). It’s good for showing where you catch fish. But it won’t show you where you don’t; and seeing where your wasting your time is crucial information. If you don’t mind finding trends yourself, then this is a fine app. I use the data points to make concentration maps for ponds and river banks. But it would be really nice if it did something with all the data it collects, rather than just mindlessly present it to you. It’s great as a trophy case, but falls short if your trying to step up your game. That being said, what it lacks in functionality, it makes up for in potential.

First thing I’d like to mention is how much this app improves EVERY month. They are constantly making it better. With that said, this app isn’t perfect, but it’s the closest I’ve found to the type of fishing app I’ve always dreamed of. It’s all my fishing in one place. Unlike other apps, ANGLR uses my personal data to help me improve. It makes tracking my fishing simple and easy by bringing in water and weather conditions automatically when I log catches. Their waypoint management features are incredible. You have to check it out on web. I can explore new lakes I want to fish and drop waypoints on the app and plan my attack before I go. After I record my day on the water, I can quickly pull up and edit catches, and review my trips. Every trip gets its own profile. The conditions tab is money! You can quickly see patterns and trends for next time. I don’t use the tackle feature much. Just jot down in notes on catches. I am planning on grabbing one of the Bullseye trackers to make it even more convenient to use app on the water. Overall, love the app and can’t wait to see what the next release improves.

  • Awesome Fishing AND Hunting Tool! Dec 5, 2019

Just wanted to say how much I enjoy Anglr and how I use it to scout duck holes. I live along the Tennessee River (Lake Guntersville). We have several Wildlife Management Areas that are popular among duck hunters; however, there are hundreds of WMA wetland acres inaccessible by duck boats. I’m an old school duck hunter, meaning I love to scout duck holes by foot if at all possible. I feel as if there is less of an impact on the ecosystem by doing so. I feel it unnecessary to need a hand held GPS system with today’s technology as everything I need is available through my cell phone and the Anglr App/Bullseye system. The beauty of the Anglr system is its simplicity. I simply start Fish Mode and input waypoints as needed. My course (log book) is automatically saved and I can go back to review my logs at any time. I find the “Play” function for each trip log entertaining as I can review exactly where I walked during my scouting trip. This system is money well spent! Thanks!

You can only put so many characters here so short and sweet. I had problems creating an account and it wouldn't tell me what the issue was. Finally got registered. Sitting still my location changed 3 times in 5 minutes within 25 ft of the last. I understand gps tech isn't pin point precise but that kind of defeats the whole idea of marking precise way points and fish catches. This is all initial review issues and no actual time spent on the water using the app yet.

I love the detail and potential of this app but it’s falling short for me. You cannot edit water details manually and you cannot edit them after a trip is complete. You have to select a USGS gauge pre-trip and that data is not always accurate for the water you are fishing not does it always contain water temperature. I have also yet to be able to populate the ‘Gear’ details for a catch. In my opinion this should easily be done after the trip is complete but you cannot do this. I’ve been populating the ‘Notes’ section with water temp and gear information but this data does not play into the overall stats that are tracked so it’s not very useful there.

Installed around the beginning of 2020. I did my first trip to try it out. On the web, it was showing zero time even though it showed the whole trip. I took a look at the phone and it was showing that it was still recording even though I had stopped it at the lake. When I stopped it again, it added the distance back to my house in a straight line; it obviously had not really been recording after leaving the lake. I am absolutely positive I stopped the recording and said Yes to end trip at the lake. Absolutely sure, because I waited to see if I would also have to name it and save it like Strava. Before I stopped it again on the phone, it did show the whole trip on the web with no extra distance logged. So I was hoping to edit the trip, like I can in the sports logging app I was using before, to remove the erroneous part. I can't do that, or at least I can't find it. My phone battery went from 97% to 3% while using the app. I have a Motorola with high battery life, one of my priorities when picking it. Most days it only uses 30% or so. It's often above 70% at the end of the night after taking it off the charger at 5:30 that morning. If I watch a movie, it might get below 50%. Yesterday was the first time I have seen it in the single digits ever. I had the screen off all day. One of the things I really wanted to see was my speed while paddling to troll. I don't see that anywhere. I don't see how to position at a certain point in time other than replay, which is pretty painful for a 7 hour trip. My gear is not appearing on the web, but is in the app. I am very disappointed.

First, I like this app. I liked it so much that I went out and bought the Tracker and use it all the time - EXCEPT NOW!! For some reason the latest version of this app (released 6 days ago) will not open on my iPhone. Yes, I’m running the current iOS. Yes, I’m a subscriber. I’m going salmon fishing tomorrow morning and was opening Anglr to setup a new trip. But NOooooo.... I guess I’ll just have to leave my expensive Tracker at home. Oh... and for the love of Pete: someone over there add an entry for surf perch! It’s the most common saltwater fare fished for along the beaches of Oregon and Washington (and probably CA, but they don’t count j/k).

  • The App for the serious AnglR Feb 19, 2017

    By Crapallnamesaretaken
The best and ONLY app for fisherman. If you want to seamlessly log information about your day, weather information, barometric pressure, wind speed/direction, specific spots and even fish catches…… WITHOUT continually removing your phone from your pocket/storage then look no further. This company offers AnglR Tracker which is a very advanced sensor that goes on your rod that logs all of this information for you. You then can use their Web Experience App to view all of this information on your computer/iPad etc. to analyze your day and your time on the water to make better decisions for the next day on the water. Additionally…… after time using this, you can have ALL of your fishing information over a few days, weeks to a lifetime of fishing information in ONE place. A must have for the serious AnglR. Oh yeah… and they keep your information private

  • Location of catches Oct 17, 2020

    By LilBitShutterbug
It would be nice if changing a catch location was easier. Maybe being able to move a pin on a nap instead of having coordinates? There are times I have to add catches because I didn't have my bullseye connected and trying to find coordinates isn't easy. Some of my catches end up on weird places on the map or I lose them altogether.

Had trouble getting this to work for me at first. Had some freezing issues at sign up. The Anglr team was super responsive to my message to them on Instagram about this issue and assured me it will be fixed shortly. However the app started working for me on its own. If you're having issues with this app, get in touch with them and I'm sure they'll do everything they can to help.

  • Password Issues (Resolved) Apr 14, 2019

    By bat123789
Downloaded the app and created an account. Forgot my password and have not been able to get the reset password function to work. So the app is no longer available to use. Updated... After contacting support I was able to reset my password and start using the app. It is an ok app. It is nice to be able to go back and see where you caught fish. If you spend some time setting the app up you can also track what you used to catch the fish. I also purchased the bullseye button. It is also ok. You can mark a catch or way point without going to the phone. But if you want to indicate size, species or lure info you still need to use the phone to input that info. Unfortunately I fish from a kayak and don’t have access to an iPhone charger. The app eats up the battery of my iPhone 7 at a pretty fast rate. I may get 2 hours of tracking time. Not much more. Definitely not going to track a full day of fishing.

  • App is good, but often crashes Feb 25, 2021

    By #bestbf
I use this for it’s intended purposes. I log all of my gear; rods, reels, hooks, lures, soft plastics, etc. and I log all of my catches. The app is great for keeping track of catches and all the conditions of each catch. The downside is that this app crashes so often. Like open the app, crash. Open the app, add gear, crash. Open the app, try to start a session, crash. Open the app, session is going for a good 30 minutes, check the phone, crash. It seems like if you look at this app wrong it crashes. If this was fixed it would easily be 5 stars.

I love the idea of the app and the Bullseye to log my catches. I got the Bullseye and have been fishing 5 times. I don't know if my use case is ideal for what it wants to do. I am a flyfisherman and the locations can have sporadic cell coverage. You don't get full utility of the weather, wind, water, etc, even if you drop to 3G coverage. On the third trip with the Bullseye, I had to keep reconnecting the device to the app and missed a good 1/3 of the catches being recorded on a slamming fishing day. The folks at ANGLR are nice to deal with but not being able to export your GPS coords needs to dealt with, too.

I got my bullseye to link when I first got it at home in the mail, a few days later when I got to the water it was dead. I sent their customer service an email with a photo of the package and a receipt, the next day I got an email from them saying their customer service email address had changed they gave me the new address and it doesn’t work. The app works fine, think twice about $30 for the bullseye, it’s supposed to have a warranty they don’t seem to want to honor. Overall 3 star rating combined.

Asks to turn on Bluetooth. I keep Bluetooth turned off on my phone. I don’t have any Bluetooth devices at all but Anglr constantly pops up telling me to turn on Bluetooth so I can connect an Anglr device. I have no intention of doing this and all I want the app for is tracking my fishing trips. Enough with the pop ups already. I’ve already disabled all notifications from the app and it still happens. It’s annoying enough where I’m considering uninstalling for something better.

Have tried using this app for the past year. Great that it logs your catches and route on the lake map. But the app is buggy. Have gone through several replacements of the Bullseye device that continue to fail with minimal use and no abuse. Cannot edit water temp data if the gage does not provide it. Editing catches is cumbersome. Would write more but feel I have wasted enough time with this. Do not understand all the good reviews and am now looking for something else.
