we had security cameras installed in our house this company not only worked with us but worked around us with our schedule they did exactly what they say they're going to do and they're here on time and they finish up there is no message there's no loose wires it is a very very professional job I would recommend them to anyone

This is an updated review. The app is a little easier to navigate but still difficult to write reviews on because it defaults to capital letters after each word and space. Also, I couldn't find a way to close the old abandoned and completed projects to stop text and email messages.

  • Lon Smith Roofing in Ft. Worth, Tx May 15, 2019

    By Willomet
I contacted Lon Smith Roofing to look at possible wind damage. They sent their representative, Kelly Williams, the nicest guy, and he came out on schedule, went on my roof, assessed it and honestly told me that “ you have an older roof and it’s 50/50 whether your insurance will cover it or not because your damage is slight. He offered to meet the insurance company at my house. Adjuster came out, said my roof would be covered and within 10 days, rained everyday, Lon Smith’s guys arrived at 7 am and were done by 1:30. They covered all of my flower beds, threw all their debris in a big truck bed, picked up every nail and left my house as they found it. The guys were all very nice and I couldn’t be happier. 5 Stars!!

  • Still best source for contractors Jan 20, 2018

    By Denkirkab
I recently tried another app that has been advertising heavily and their contractors just didn’t have much history or, especially, longevity. And this app is very easy to write reviews in. Also, the other app I tried recently seemed to hide the contractors and just ask you project questions and then give you a short list of prospects that would then contact you. Clearly a promotional thing the contractors were paying for. Angie’s is consumer driven - you get to look at the whole directory and pick who you want to call instead of the app being used as a means to push certain contractors.

  • The Counterman Feb 15, 2021

    By Jenn2626_Ashly
I hired someone listed on Angie’s List to BUILD me a custom cabinet for my linens. I had an existing upper cabinet and the losers base was damaged. The Counterman (Gary Stolo) who I hired acted as though he understood why I was in need of and took measurements and I showed him the existing face and doors (for reference to measurements) and that I would be using the doors. He requested 50% before install for “material” and when he was set to arrive for installation he showed up with boxes of surplus cabinets. I told him that is not what I wanted and he walked out. He sent me a text that he couldn’t return the purchased cabinets nor the money I paid. I left a bad review to Angie’s list thinking I would be contacted as they state on their app. You can’t call anyone because it’s not a service that is offered with my membership. No customer support. No resolution to the problem. No accountability to the people in which they allow to offer their “services”. This is not a place to hire professionals and if you’re taken for your money there is zero accountability. Unfortunately, I learned my lesson the hard way. Shame on the Counterman and HUGE disappointment that this app even exists.

Not so much with the app, but mostly disappointed with the business itself. I've signed a contract for them to advertise my business and get us leads, but not much has come through. So having to spend $400.00 a month for basically nothing is a great tip off. Thanks Angie's list. Shows who we can trust and who not to go through ever again.

  • The app is not great and Angie’s List is a poorly run service. Jun 25, 2020

    By Mjg732004
The app should slow you to just grab a few contractors and go. You can’t. It forces you to start a project and go through a whole process. Then, you only get a few contractors. You have to repeat this nonsense just to get more. In addition, one business, Sal’s Plumbing and Heating, has a scam where they say you can buy a discount coupon for an amount off of labor charges, but, when if you get a quote, then say you want to apply the discount, they say they have to know about the discount before giving you a quote. Clearly, there is no need other than to add the same amount that is being discounted nullifying the discount. I have a voicemail from the owner leaving nasty message on my phone when I told him I am reporting this to Angie’s List. I then reported all of this and Angie’s List and they not only refused to do anything about it they are still featuring his awful coupon two years later. If this was a free service, fine. But I am paying to be scammed. Home Adviser is free and is basically the same thing.

The new version is extremly hard to use. It does not let you to look directly for orofessionals unless you go through a project that falls in the predefined category, and it only gives a handful of choices. If your particual need does not fit neatly with the options then giod luck. You can not even look through a list that shows near by professionals sonyou can call. Extremly frustrating

  • Used to be great, now it just generates leads for Pros Jan 28, 2021

    By Kidgraphite
All roads on this app seem to funnel you back to their Project search. This forces you to set up a project and enter your contact info. This sends your contact info out to various businesses who you never selected. These businesses begin calling and messaging you to try to reel you in. This selection of businesses are done on the backend, so you have no clue whom Angie’s List selected to put in touch with you. Reading Angie’s List’s response to other Reviewers of their app, they say there is a way to get around this, to just browse through professionals and their reviews. I did search for the section they suggest and could not find it anywhere. All roads just went back to starting a Project. If it’s that difficult to find a feature, the business must not want you to find it. Angie’s List used to be great. It used to serve the individual homeowners that are looking for a professional. Now it serves the businesses, as a way to funnel leads to them.

  • Good and timely replacement of a water heater Sep 24, 2020

    By MemphisAvi
We had never used Degan Plumbing before and from now on they’ll be our primary plumber. We had been without hot water for 2 days when we contacted them. They came the next day at about 6 or 7 at night and stayed until 10 to get the new water heater installed. Then came the next afternoon to finish and cleanup. Did a very good job, were courteous and the price was better than any of the other plumbers we called... even the one that had been our primary and with whom we had done a couple of costly jobs. Degan was about $500 cheaper and the quality of work was comparable.

  • Review The Company Reviews Sep 21, 2018

    By SusanMcL
Reviewing your clients reviews can keep your site more user friendly. Your reviewers are advising you of your clients actions. For example, I contacted a recommended client listed on Angie’s list. We made an appointment to give me an estimate on a ceiling fan replacement. The estimate was much higher than other contractors. (Also from Angie’s List)- The technician asked for a $59 estimate fee. No where on your site did it advertise fees for an estimate. I did not pay- they wanted $700 + to replace a ceiling fan. I did provide them with a review. If you and your team vet some of the reviews, I’ll bet you wouldn’t put your company name on their endorsement. Remove those that warrant.

It shows the same 3 pros!!!! I can't see all the local plumbers. Will be using thumbtack, this is ridiculous. The pros they show have not replied back, but can't see other plumbers!! Absolutely ridiculous. I dont want to see the highest bidder for Angie's list. They keep showing me a company thats not local and charges $95 travel fee.
