Allstate App is not worth the trouble May 3, 2021

Screen freezes Must accept contract to use app and see things like your insurance card. The app must always be on draining your battery. Fitness and Health Monitor must be "always on". Will not accept any other setting. Battery dead in 20 minutes. Runs when riding with someone else in their car. No allowance for Hard braking - even avoiding a red light or child or animal. Discount lost. Every movement / location tracked. App subjects you to litigation. Find another company.

I downloaded this app so that I could participate in the Allstate drive wise program. And the app enables you to view your insurance ID cards, request roadside assistance and several other things. But the main reason I have this app is for trying to reduce my insurance premium based on my safe driving. I’ve been participating in this app for just 3 days now and I’ve already had to dispute/remove 2 different “extreme braking events”. When I view the GPS route of the trip to review the “extreme braking event” I’ve noticed that the route has me zigzagging off the road randomly. So of course that’s going to trigger an extreme braking event! I don’t know if the GPS data tracking is an issue with the app or with the iPhone XS GPS. But either way, the app should have a feature that recognizes anomalies in the GPS data and push a notification or pop up that asks you “is this trip summary accurate?” Instead of just accusing you of being an erratic driver and reducing your chance for a discount. So for now, you have to review all of your trip summaries and dispute/remove the trips with inaccurate GPS data. Sort of annoying.

Useful app with access to a lot of my insurance features. However, the app crashes constantly. Loading new data from Allstate servers takes a long time, regardless of my connection strength or type, and the app will usually freeze up. Got a customer service poll "do you like using this app?" I said no. Prompted me to add more detail. Guess what. It froze up before I could type anything.
  • Fix phone use while driving feature Dec 26, 2019

    By bchan5
Before the phone use while driving feature came out for Drivewise, I would have given the app 5 stars. However, when I stop my car at my destination and use my phone, it is tracking that as using my phone while driving. For example, I have been giving a coworker rides to work everyday for the last 2 weeks. When I would pull up and park in her carport, I would send her a text saying I was there. When checking the Drivewise section in the app later, it showed I used my phone while driving (although the phone use was tracked at my parking location). Because of this, I have had to remove many trips due to “trip data not being accurate,” which is losing me safe driving points. I do not use my phone while driving, so it is frustrating that this new feature is saying that I use my phone during my trips. Now I’m not even sure how long I have to wait before stopping before I can touch my phone without having to remove the whole trip data due to this error. Please fix. The rest of the app is great.

It’s good to be back, Don had always helped me when I was with him a few years ago but I left for cheaper insurance and I got not so good customer service especially with claims! Both companies all they cared about was saving money at my expense but with Don Rose I got excellent claims service and he involved himself every time,he would walk me through the claims service to make sure it was handled properly! And always what was best for me! And this App is great I can do everything from it and not bother my agent and the office staff unless I have a question I need answered! Now that I’m back I’m not going anywhere! Allstate set me up with the best coverage I needed for a great price! Switch to Allstate and choose the gold package you will love it! By the way I even got a letter when my coverage started stating my policy decreased by 55 dollars how about that!!!! Get smart Get Gold!!!
  • Worst Agent Oct 28, 2019

My NEW agent (John) took over several years ago and I have yet to speak with him. I’ve had to call the office several times over the past few years but he is never around. I had an issue this past week and needed road side service, I never got the road side service as the person that I spoke with Christopher Moss was extremely rude. I called my agents office which says it closes at 6pm (and it was 4:45pm) and as of today he has never called me back. I will be switching agents and also have my daughter and her husband switching agents as well. Several of my friends that had Willis McKinney (before he retired and this man took over) has since left this agent John or left Allstate all together. They all agreed he is not a people person, unable to reach him, and unhappy with her services.

The discounts and features on the app have been great until about 3 weeks ago. My wife and myself both have iPhones and both are doing the same thing now. I keep getting a message that the app is turning off mid trip and I’ve done nothing to it. Battery is full. All software updates are current. One message says trip was ended when app was turned off. N my trips aren’t starting until 5 to 10 minutes into the trip. Also I can ride with both of my phones. And one will show a braking or speeding incident and the other shows no problem and the phones are sitting side by side in my vehicle. We have to use the app multiple times when we ride together so we can remove each other’s trips depending on who is driving. Also I have already uninstalled the app and reloaded it to make sure that wasn’t the issue. Please look into this problem. Thank you.

I’m new to using the app and I have to say that I’ve had some frustrations with it. While it typically works well, I’ve noticed that when I try to “ignore a trip” on the quick serve menu when I’m not driving that the app itself dies. I have to make a point to go in and specifically end the trip through Drivewise directly or I have to wait and ignore the trip later. I also have some issues with the phone monitoring feature on Drivewise. If my phone is used during a drive, the majority of the time it’s due to a passage in my vehicle using my car. Unfortunately, there is no way to indicate this in the app and it’s irksome to have that as a seeming “mark” against your safe driving. I have also had an occasion where I didn’t use my phone or was walking to my car and it somehow registered usage when I wasn’t driving. Other than those issues, I’d say the app works pretty well overall.

I just signed up with Allstate Agee months ago! I had been with Geico for 29 years! While we were in the Air Force it was the least expensive insurance around! I hate to say this but I feel that we are becoming numb to important things and only thinking about ourselves! My daughter is in the Air Force right now and I’m so proud! Geico lost us as customers because they stopped caring about the people & started caring about the money! Allstate has been amazing to us! Our Agent is friendly, checks in with us once in a while, if I ask for something it’s done, and after all that it is the least expensive insurance around! We need to stop complaining about the little things & look around! Get your head out of your phone, tablet, or computer and learn to communicate again!
  • Allstate pays off Sep 7, 2019

Saving money is important. But insuring safe driving is also important. With Allstate, I save both money and ensure safe driving. With Allstate’s “DriveWise” program, I receive visible metrics for every trip I take. Every trip I keep driving under 80 mph with no hard braking earns me points (up to 200+ points per trip!). The points I receive through participation in the program for driving safely really add up. I have hundreds of thousands of good drivers points earned. Plus I save money through discounts. So, I think Allstate Insurance Company pays off, awarding me for keeping it safe, and giving me Good Driver Bonus checks when I’m doing good. Have you heard about the Good Driver bonus checks? It’s Allstate’s way if saying “job well done.”
  • Drivewise Problem Aug 27, 2018

    By LoyalAllstater
I have been using this app without problems up until recently. I logged onto my account and was asked to reactivate Drivewise? Why? Was it because it failed to record trips for a long time? I really don’t know. This app has always been very finicky with trip recording. I am already an active customer so I shouldn’t have to reactivate. To make matters worse, my trip history has been completely wiped. I can’t remove previous trips because it only lets me do this in the app. There were some trips recorded in my app where events were recorded but I wasn’t driving. If that information is not available, I can’t remove erroneous trips. This is an issue. Allstate needs to contact me with a solution quickly or I could lose out on a safe driving check. In addition, the ability to remove erroneous trips should be available on a computer in case situations like this happen.

Update: Battery usage is up and discount has gone down. Was way better before. Slow to load. Unresponsive. Drains battery. Useless. It used to be better but it's terrible now. Worst app on my phone. Two months later and worse. Now it is on the screen after every trip. Used to be in the background. Still a big battery sucker.
  • Last update even worse Dec 21, 2019

My iPhone 11 is running iOS 13.3, the latest update. I switched to Allstate because of the Drivewise feature. I have been hoping for a fix to the location services. The issue is it requires that the Location services be set to ‘ Always Allow’. I have been getting the iOS system prompt saying the following: “Allstate” has used used your location 40 times in the background over the past 3 days. Do you want to continue to allow background location use?) Below are two selections below ‘ Change to Only While Driving or Alway Allow’. Now 40 times in 3 days is impractical since I drive less than 7 miles on any given single day once a week. This has always been the most annoying aspect of the Allstate app since I switched a few years ago. I also agree with other reviewers concerning inaccurate use of the phone while driving. I’m deaf so I don’t use the phone tho I worry that if a spammer calls while I’m driving and ignore it, it will still count as if I used the phone. The UI interface is quite ugly and textually ‘busy’ and lacking that eye candy factor compared to the more aesthetic one before. I’d like to see that the location service be changed so that it is set to ‘Allow while using’. The ‘Use Phone While Driving’ needs to be reconsidered. The ONLY improvement I like in the last upgrade is that the Face ID is enabled.

Very poor app. Bugs been worked on I do not think so. Buffering takes to long to open up and freeze up and close up. You guys want five star got do whole lot better job. Not happy 🤔😬😤 I have deleted and updated your app still the same. I've got to make sure that my payment will be made. Got to do a little better job on your app.

Very recently I noticed my app had an “action needed” banner next to Drivewise on the mobile app. I opened it, went through the steps to reactivate Drivewise and went about my business, driving multiple times a day thinking I was active on Drivewise. Silly me! I have to open the app and go through the reactivation process EVERY SINGLE TIME I get in my car in order to log my trips and qualify for a very small refund. If I close out of the app, it also deactivates my Drivewise. If I let it run in the background to slow my phone down, it works fine but makes me super unhappy when I can hear my phone running but no call shows up on my screen. If I leave it up in background and open enough apps after Allstate, my phone will log me out of the app and I will have to sign in again, only to find the “action needed” banner again. Considering doing some insurance shopping. My last safe driving refund did not even cover paying myself minimum wage for ONE HOUR, a small fraction of the time I have put into reactivation on this app. I feel like I am overpaying for my insurance to stay with a reputable company, you might consider putting some time and effort into fixing this app and making your customers happy! No one has time to sit in their driveway before every single trip and go through the steps to reactivate. Today’s world thrives on convenience!

Update 5/6 - it logged a trip when i had it actually on and logged in to the app. But it overcame that triumph by telling me i was speeding(80+) in the 35 zone on the way to get groceries (i wasn't). Not fun or rewarding. I stay enrolled for the initial discount. However, it logs NO trips, and i get emails to 'use it or lose it' - it is on and not working. And yes, diags appear normal. Just as annoying - when i go to check settings, it logs me out. Just bad.
  • WOULD GIVE ALLSTATE ZERO STARS IF I COULD Apr 23, 2019

    By SN WW
Let me start by saying I’ve been with Allstate for 47 years....ever since I moved out of my parents house to attend college I had auto coverage through them. I’ve had both auto and home insurance with them since my first home purchase in 1987. So, think about how many thousands of dollars I’ve paid Allstate in that time period. The tile roof on my current home was inspected by Allstate in 2016 before they would insure the home. Per Allstate the roof was replaced 10 years ago and was in excellent shape. Then the AZ monsoon season came in July of 2018 and blew almost every tile out of alignment and broke more than a few. Five roofing contractors looked at the roof and each one said the roof was in need of full replacement due to the damage. Allstate disagreed. They wanted to “repair” the tile roof with “similar” clay tiles that did not match the San Valle clay tile because it hasn’t been made in many years. Allstate’s first estimate to repair the roof was $700 which doesn’t even cover my deductible. After months of wrangling, (8 months) my roofing contractor was able to get the repair amount up to $14,000 which was just over half what the roof actually cost us. Long story short, I’m no longer with Allstate. They have absolutely no clue what customer service or customer loyalty is all about. 47 years of customer loyalty meant nothing to them....I was just a very expensive premium to them.

Ever since the last few updates, the application keeps crashing and doesn't log my trips. I have to unlock my phone for it to sense that I'm driving and sometimes it still doesn't detect it. When I open the application, it won't load and stay at the home page after trying to load the dashboard.

I used this app for years. It was very good. Until a few months ago Allstate decided that to use the App I am forced to accept Drivewise. I have been a customer of Allstate and one agency since 1978. That is 42 years. My home insurance has also been through the same agency. I am told that I have the cheapest rates available so basically I don’t need Drivewise. If I am a passenger in an automobile and the driver doesn’t obey speed limits or excelerates to fast and breaks at the last moment it will be logged against my driving. I also signed up for emergency road services. Allstate discontinued the app and I have to call. The first time I tried to use it the app showed that my policy was not active due to lack of payment which was wrong. The second time my wife needed he car towed to a service department. After an hour she the towing company and they received the call but did not dispatch it. It was another hour before the tow truck arrived. What if my wife had been on the side of an interstate for 2 hours. Last year Allstate sent me a link to a company to update the drivers of my vehicle. The site had an invalid security certificate. I refused to use the site. My agent had to my information. In my opinion Allstate is no longer the good hands people. I am in the process of finding another company after 42 years.

These has never been a time over at least the past 6 years that this app actually worked. They seem to update and change it often but they never, ever repair any glitches and probably add new ones. It constantly says "we're experiencing technical difficulties yada, yada, yada". And last but definitely not least it continues to show a dashboard and a ticking down to a replenishment on a totalled car. I not be drawing a daily charge. Agent says it's just incorrect. So ridiculous and lame.

All State owner Mrs. Wendy’s help excellent. Her spirit and just one email before I was not in your insurance system brought me under your umbrella. Also she did extremely well in responding to my emails. Whenever there was a delay (very rarely), she never ever failed to apologize for her delay. Extremely pleased with her service. When I went to her office for the first time to pay the insurance, when she heard her name, she came out and greeted me with a hug. Please let her know how I felt about the service that I received. Rosalie I am very glad that I chose Gary’s All state insurance which helps me in my driving and I growing in confidence in driving to new places that I have to go to work. Thank You Gary for your phone at the right time. Please inform Wendy.

I’m not a fan of apps but this app has not disappointment me. I was in an accident and the app smoothly took all the information. Made it easy for me to deal with different adjusters, get paid and update all information. If I had one suggestion it would be about the drive safe/drive wise part. Maybe we should have an option added if we are the passenger or driver in the car? Most of the time I’m the driver but when I have my phone in my hands I am the passenger. Or if I have the passenger look up an address on the phone. It doesn’t mean I am driving while playing with my phone. I’m not sure what to really do about that but maybe y’all could brainstorm it out 😊.

Went with Allstate after I found out the hard way my previous company didn’t make the mark. Take the time to shop around not just for cost, but also to make sure all the small details are captured. Remember that if you do experience a loss you want someone that is going to be there for you. Allstate took a significant amount of time to talk to us before we had even signed on. They are personable and care that we have our insurance needs met, but are not paying for what we don’t need. And, even after the huge loss I had in the past and the stories about how my insurance would skyrocket- Allstate was reasonably priced which was a huge relief!

I am so sorry to say that I do not know her last name but I certainly hope you guys know what a smart, hard working, eager, polite, and all around kind hearted go getter she really is!!! She not only kept calling ME back but even when she didn’t get me she left me such nice messages told me to call her when it was convenient for me but then always followed up with a call a couple days maybe a day later. I think it took her like six times before I would even talk to her, poor thing😂. That all being said she not only got my auto insurance threw AllState but she also got me to get my home owners started up she is a keeper for sure. This girl needs a raise!!!!😊😊😊 very pleased!!
  • Having problems with the App Settings Feb 2, 2021

I have been having the Allstate App for quite a while and used to be able to use the Drivewise section of the App but for the last 3-6 months nothing is recording g for the Drivewise section and it’s telling me that I need to do a Background Refresh in the settings of the App. I have tried to do just that but the Background Refresh button in my App setting is stuck in the “on” position and I cannot move it. I have tried deleting the App and re-installing it but nothing changes. Is there anything I should do to clear this up because the Drivewise Se Timon does not work without a Background Refresh!!! Very Frustrating !
  • ALLSTATE SATISFIED CUSTOMER Sep 3, 2020

    By Levicarolyngoal
I’ve only needed to talk to customer service over the phone once. Good service. HOWEVER, when I tell you dealing with my agent is like Blue Bell ice cream. The service is “awesome”. My agent is in Denham Springs and there are Allstate offices where I live but I would not change anything. This company acts like they are your family. OMG! I recommend them if your are exploring more than Allstate insurance. I know I’ve possibly driven them crazy, but I can’t tell. I was scared initially after being with Geico Insurance for such a long time. The rates that Allstate were able to offer me were a large amount lower. I’m satisfied now! *****Max stars to Angela and to *****Sean (or Shawn) for such pleasant help. Thank you Micah Borne, agency owner.
  • Help with app please May 10, 2018

    By ¡Hannibal
Thank you.
  • Payment Page Sometimes Doesn’t Work Apr 21, 2020

    By UtahRugbyGuy
I was using the app for everything I needed it for for a good while but this last month, my condo policy was in danger of cancelling because I tried several times over a couple weeks to make a payment but the payment page didn’t come up so I couldn’t make it. Finally today after getting another panic cancellation reminder email from my agent’s people, I was able to log in and the payment portal worked. I just hope it never does this again and I hope my policy is not in any trouble. If it is, then I will resubmit this review as zero stars because it was the app’s fault, not mine. I shouldn’t be punished or lose my coverage for a faulty app.
  • App is pretty good. Touch ID never works, always have to manually log-in Oct 15, 2020

    By The Safe Driver
App is functional. Drive wise seems pretty good. Occasionally does have an erroneous flag on there for one of the things they track. Unfortunately if you ride with others often it tracks all of that too so you have to manually remove all of those. Other than that the Touch ID has never worked. I have turned it off and on several times and it will pull up. When you do your thumb print it seems to accept it but the just go away and you have to manually log-in anyway. A few bugs here and there but hopefully something Allstate can afford to workout.

I was totally satisfied with my insurance because my whole world was in a 3 block radius and they seemed fair. That was until I accidentally filled out a survey and got flooded with quotes , all more than what I paid, later on I got one from Allstate and couldn’t believe the savings! It turned out that my history gave me a #1 rating for risk and entitled me to the lowest prices, which nobody else told me. Leary of large companies, I was pleased at the warmth of the agents and they held my hand throughout the enrollment, always being there when you need them. I’m quite pleased with my decision to switch to Allstate, and will update this rating if there are any surprises, but so far so good!

Good for you. I sill have to say each place is different with different people. My experience has not been a wow factor. Sometimes its hard to get a hold of my agent and explaining policy is confusing. For example I had an older car and rates were going up. They told me it was because of an older car. Then I bought a new vehicle last year and the rate was high. Even with two vehicles for a discount. They said that rates are high because of a new car? Huh. Then I said why is my older car have higher rates now its older and not when it was new. No answer. So each place is run differently in how they do things.
  • Slow, Bloated. Drivewise doesn’t show up Jul 11, 2020

    By Dafdk
The new version of the Allstate app is soooo slow to start up. One can’t be sure if the spinning wheel on the screen means that it is still working or just plain stuck. What a waste of time. And once the app does come up sometimes you don’t see Drivewise at all. There is no other way to access it if it’s not on the first screen. I really miss the lean and nimble app 2-3 versions ago. Drivewise would record miles even if the Allstate app was not open and running. Drivewise should be separated out as an adult independent standalone app for better responsiveness, agility and efficiency

I also love 💗 the Drive Wise and noticed I’m being extra careful about my driving with such an Incentive! I am just finishing up my e signature and needed help ( on a Saturday afternoon!) I reached a Great 👍 Representative who gave me the information ℹ️ needed and was very nice 👍 and exceptional at her job! May saved me money 💰 and sold me a Renters Policy! • Lots of potential, could use some improvement Jan 30, 2020

    By Natejo91

  • Okay app but.... Jan 2, 2020

    By Caity S.

The biggest drawback with this app for me - I use an ipad pro as a laptop. I have my ipad in a case that has a keyboard and my ipad is always turned sideways. There are just a few apps that do not turn sideways and Allstate’s app is one of them. Perhaps someone forgot that people turn their devices? Hopefully with some feedback they will make this an option soon. FYI for quicker access - you may want to take a pic of your insurance card after each renewal as this site is often very slow and many times you have to keep logging back in before you can navigate to the ID cards. I have unlimited data with full bars from AT&T most of the time so I do not believe it is my service provider. I don’t have this trouble with other apps loading. Hope this helps.
  • Please fix the phone activity Jan 10, 2020

    By Corbygray528
Every trip I take is now getting dinged for phone activity at the very beginnings or ends of my trips when getting into or out of my car. It’s absolutely absurd, especially if this phone activity metric is going to count against the drive wise bonus we get as Allstate customers. I don’t want a terrible feature rollout to cost me actual money because I don’t use my phone while I drive but this app think that even after parked and exiting the car it should still count as a trip. I have two on one trip you can even see it records the phone activity not even on the driven route, it’s inside my office building after I had gotten to work. Absolutely abysmal.
  • Misinformation Feb 2, 2021

    By wildlife friend
Drivewise has faults, got one, I don’t think that if one is driving and your passenger is using your phone that they should Mark a strike against your driving record as well hard breaking. If you are driving at a normal spread on the road and a squirrel runs out in front of you as frantic as they are should I run over it without concern out tap the breaks again they should not go against you. Frankly I think while it has good learning intent it has faults that seem to work against you without clarification or a process to inform you why things happen. That means the process is faulty when it is one sided without overview and a clients opinion of what happens cannot be checked. Thanks for allowing for my input.

Things i don’t like about this app: paying for my policy using the app - the app does not immediately update the main screen to reflect my payment. Nor am I sent a confirmation email in a quick manner. This is frustrating because every other app where you conduct an online transaction, you get this confirmation info fast. Showing me a confirmation screen after my transaction is completed is not enough because I have no way to go back into the app to view this info because the app does not immediately update to reflect my most current payment. Things I like about the app, my online access to my insurance cards.
  • Not much benefit here Nov 6, 2020

    By TonyLAFerrera
Really surprised by all the high rankings. I found this app to be extremely annoying. I would get notifications for absolutely nothing at all. Since it doesn’t remain signed in I experienced frustration with signing in using touch ID. I would tap my thumb print and it would tell me my password is wrong over and over. Any info I needed to obtain required me to sign in on a browser because limited information is available through this app. Never found any benefit in having this on my phone so I deleted it. I guess if somebody wanted to allow Allstate to track their driving habits for a discount it might be of some value.
  • Last update even worse Dec 21, 2019

    By dabier

I don’t usually review apps, I just delete them if I don’t like them. But for this app, I need it to be on my phone for easy access to my car insurance. I don’t like having to go to the website to pull up my info. There’s very little you can actually do on the app vs the website. The app seems like it’s a beta if I’m being honest. Seconds ago, I was double checking my app to ensure everything is paid and I’m good to go. I accidentally clicked on the “coverage” tab and it said I didn’t have a policy, to call this number.. I had a mini heart attack and checked the actual website, everything is in order on the website but not the app. It’s completely up to date, I double checked that. The app could use some work in my opinion. Half the time the app looks like everything’s smashed together, specially the tabs at the bottom. I don’t haves small device either, my iPhone 11 Pro Max has a decently large screen. Maybe I’m just use to my geico app (I recently switched over to Allstate from geico ) I never had to check the website but the Allstate app shouldn’t look like a beta tester app. Geicos app was smooth, and it looked nice. Everything was easy to use. Never had any issues with that app. All in all, I don’t like the look or “feel” of this Allstate app.
  • Drivewise Disappointment Apr 25, 2019

    By GLAKIN343
I’ve been using the AllState app for some time now and has been very convenient up to this point for managing payments and proof of insurance. Since the Drivewise program has been changed over to the app only, my enthusiasm about staying enrolled in Drivewise has drastically changed. My wife and regularly ride in the same vehicle frequently drive the others vehicle. The program double logs the trips as we are both driving (racking up the miles). My wife’s patiences for going into the app, then Drivewise, then find the trip(s) and remove them is non existent (not convenient) so we rack up unnecessary trips. With that being said, I work for a fire department and going to work and removing trips is a nightmare. I’ll have anywhere from 30-50 trips to remove due to driving the engine to and from calls. AllState has always been great to us, and I appreciate their willingness to provide modern technology to their customers, but the Drivewise program/app needs some serious work. I’ve always thought it is important to help bring a solution to a problem when when bringing issues forward, but technology and development of an app is way out of my league. Hopefully this is helpful AllState when your looking at making improvements.

Very glitchy app, power hog will drain battery, app has trouble staying open, drivewise works sometimes. Also the need to sign into account to turn off drivewise is ludicrous. Should be able to open app and toggle drivewise off and on without signing in. Drivewise seems to work on my Google pixel 2 but not talk to the server since android hasn't updated since October 2020.
  • Latest update Jun 29, 2020

    By Katsumiblisk
Just a quick review to say the latest update is really slow and laggy on my iPhone XS Max. Everything takes so long to load I lost patience with waiting and tried to go back. However the Hold Tight dialog boxes don't allow you to touch the page behind to dismiss it so you're sitting there for an eternity waiting for it to finish loading in the page. And then it crashes, every time. On loading the app takes an eternity to load. Also what seems to be taking its time to load are two big ticket items - Claims, and My Bill. My bill is paid for six months, why would I want to see that every time I load the screen - twice a year at most when it is due is enough. And my claims. I have no outstanding claims, again why do I want to see that page? The page I do want to see - Drivewise, doesn't load. The app just crashes. No doubt there are options to turn off the Claims and Billing items but I just don't have all day to wait. The screen is unresponsive and doesn't react when I try to scroll; when it does react it stutters and jumps around. I will leave the app installed for the Drivewise discount but I won't be opening it again.
  • Doesn’t save my finger print, and Logs me out everytime Jul 8, 2019

    By Mr thizzle
I find this app very frustrating and find myself in a bad mood everytime I use it. I had a keep me logged in option, that didn’t work and constantly would log me out. I’d forget my password because it’s one of these that requires and upper case, lower case, number, and special character...they also lock your account after 6 tries, so I get to call all state to reset it for me every time I use it, and by that point I’m already unhappy. I switched to the finger print login which works great with several of my other apps, but this stupid app doesn’t save my finger print and still asks me to enter a password each time...which puts me back in the try 6 times, lock my account, Call all state cycle of frustration, Once I’m in the experience isn’t much better...I spent 20 minutes trying to figure how to setup autopay with a different credit card before finally having to call customer service to do it....and that’s 20 minutes AFTER spending 15 minutes trying to login because the app logs me out and doesn’t take my finger print...overall I dislike this app, and the stupid rules for passwords and account locks.
  • Apps like this are the reason I still keep paper records. Dec 27, 2020

    By canuckamuk
Two issues: Last week I hit a pothole and slowly developed a flat tire. I got to safety and attempted to use my app to acquire roadside assistance. I check for updates frequently, and there was no notification telling me my Allstate app needed attention... until I tried to use it. I received a message saying my version was no longer supported and required updating. Except I was on a remote road and the app would not update. I couldn’t even open it to get the information I would need if I called for roadside assistance. I was on my way to work so time was of the essence. After a few minutes of fiddling with the useless app I changed my own tire in (literally!) freezing rain in the pitch black. What is the purpose of relying on something so critical if it fails you when most needed? Very disappointed. Second issue: my ex husbands information remains on my account... not in real life, just on the app. Other incorrect information includes dates premiums are due. Apps like this are the reason I still keep paper records.

App doesn’t load. Once it loads some features are there and some aren’t. I’ll be in the middle of something and it just shuts down. On the “my trips” I don’t have any hard braking or over 80mp but On the graph it shows 0 miles over 80 but at the bottom of the screen it’s shows 18.9 over 80mph. Husband has the same issues in his app. Won’t let him or I delete trips that we weren’t driving. My daughters app just totally shut down and she had to re setup like she was a new customer. Our discount went from 10% to 5% over night and we hadn’t driven anywhere over night. Checked the app for my trips before I went to bed and there was no bad driving items. Woke up the next day and that’s when the speeding showed up and all the hard breakings. Now unless some stole our phones while we were sleeping and took each one on different crazy driving trips there’s no way possible for this to happen. Kind of ticked we’d are approaching our 6 months and our discount dropped drastically

I called roadside after catching a flat on the freeway. I spoke with the dispatch for over 40 minutes trying to answer a bunch of questions while he was struggling to understand, google location. He told me because the flat was in the side of freeway he wanted to send tow, get off freeway then fix flat. He then told me I would be contacted by the driver and hung up. After 45 minuets I called back to be told He never entered Anything, no tow was dispatched to my location. On the phone with the new rep another 20 minutes, then waited another 40 minutes for the guy to show up and fix the flat on the freeway. I am very dissatisfied with this service, I was left in a dangerous situation for hours with no help, and the understanding help was in the way. Very poor service! I’ve been a customer far to long and pay monthly to utilize the service when I need it, however, the service Failed. Allstate failed! How do you Rectify this situation because right now I am ready to look for another insurance company! Horrible service

Allstate App is not worth the trouble May 3, 2021

    By Tom Fox
Screen freezes Must accept contract to use app and see things like your insurance card. The app must always be on draining your battery. Fitness and Health Monitor must be "always on". Will not accept any other setting. Battery dead in 20 minutes. Runs when riding with someone else in their car. No allowance for Hard braking - even avoiding a red light or child or animal. Discount lost. Every movement / location tracked. App subjects you to litigation. Find another company.

This is one of the slowest apps I have loaded. Just circles and circles, then freezes. I'm busy, I don't have time to wait 3 minutes for each screen. Also, how do I turn it off if I'm a passenger? I don't want someone else's driving to affect my scores with Allstate. Edit to address comment from Allstate: Where is this "Standby" mode? My Allstate office has no idea. Neither do I. The only way I can turn this app off when I am a passenger is to go to my phone settings and change it to "Only when in use". Then, if I am driving, I have to go back to phone settings and change to "all the time". Come on folks, there should be a quick are to tap to prevent it from recording a trip where I am a passenger. It's ridiculous that they are suggesting that I go back to the app and "remove" the trip where I was a passenger. Let's just go back to the plug-in device.

My opinion of this app is in line with pretty much everyone else's. Terrible. Slow, fussy, freeze ups, records trips I did not take, and more. Even something as simple as making the page fit the screen & no scroll bar to see info that gets cut off. Get a new app designer. It's awful. Love my agent, hate the app. You must fix it. UPDATE 5/3/2021i rec'd notice the app was fixed; uninstalled & reinstalled, worse now than before. Freezes & have to restart my phone. Can't access anything in the app.
