Worked really good before but doesn’t want to work now
Jun 18, 2020 Went to go use the app, and they completely logged me out. I tried logging back in about 15 times if not more, and each time that App would just glitch out. I even tried resetting my password and the link they sent my email glitches out. Tried going to support and it just sits there loading. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling.. I don’t know what the hell happened to this app because before it was amazing and had everything you could possibly need to fly, but now nothing seems to work.. this needs to be fixed because you have to be signed in to plan a flight or to see any information at all. I guess I’ll have to make another acc. Hopefully this one doesn’t disappear...more -
Jan 18, 2021 This app does everything it claims to do. My only frustration is when it reports an airport, when the place is a helipad 4.9 miles away. Or reports as a prison an abandoned facility. Things change and the app is kept up pretty much. But there's no way to easily inform for a correction or to have a location checked for update. Otherwise this is a good app.more -
The best data plus electronic flight plan filing
Feb 9, 2018 This has the most complete data of any source I have located. That it electronically files your flight plan with airports makes it indispensable. The idea that someone would get on the phone and call each the heliports and local private airports every time they want to fly around their yard is a hilarious bureaucratic joke. Most of them are unmanned anyway. There is no one to call. But this is great. Let it generate piles of electronic communications. You meet your obligations.more -
IND NOTAM - AIrMap in India
Jun 11, 2019 After using AIrMap for almost a year and regularly submitting flight plans before my drone flights in USA , this trip to India I tried AIrMap since flying drones is now legal here. It worked really well , I was getting alerts for nearby air traffic as well as no fly zones clearly marked. While I agree that the map updates would be better if crowdsourced, just wanted to let people know, you can and must use AIrMap or similar app to fly safely in other countries . Happy flying!!more -
Needs more customization
Sep 13, 2019 The app is actually fairly good, but needs better customization. For instance, why half hour increments of flight time? The other day, I had very specific minutes to fly due to twilight...I couldn’t schedule the exact time and had to file multiple plans to make due. Also, the app doesn’t register said twilight, so it erroneously flagged my flight as “flying at night”, which was not accurate. And lastly...the app only allows a flight cap of 1,000 feet AGL; And because of a special flight, the building I was filming was a little over that. In this instance, as a part 107 holder, I’m allowed to fly 1,400AGL. The app not only restricted me from entering 1,400 feet, it also couldn’t understand that over 400 feet was allowed...and so, it flagged my flight as being non FAA compliant. Try navigating all that when you’re watching the sun set trying to fill out a flight plan. There goes your precious flight time!more

Jan 10, 2021 Works great until you try to submit your application for a waiver. Then you get the message an unexpected error has occurred, try again. 2 different phones and the same thing both android. Airmap,I think that you have a problem! After reading the reviews, the developer has known about this issue for a while now but doesn't seem to be smart enough to fix the issue!more -
Jan 27, 2021 Inconsistent functionality, but the decision to attempt to monetize UAS use is 100% unacceptable. Reverse this ridiculous decision and apologize. There's still time to correct this error. -
Inaccurate information
Dec 3, 2017 AirMap contains very inaccurate information on where you can and cannot fly drones. For example, the map fails to show that flying on a National Wildlife Refuge is prohibited. Many other local, state, and national recreational lands that prohibit drones are not displayed as having such restrictions. And while it is well-known that flying drones in National Parks is prohibited, the colored polygons on the map do not cover the actual boundaries of the parks, and can make it confusing to look at. Even more annoying is that you cannot select individual polygons and see its information, unlike the desktop version. There needs to be an option for users to add information to the map. Crowdsourced data on where you can and cannot fly drones would build a much more accurate map.more -
Jan 23, 2021 AirMap as a company, is not FOR the commercial drone pilot. Introducing the potential fees for take-off and landing? In no way do they support the drone industry in a positive light. Use Kittyhawk instead. -
Feb 4, 2021 Usless app. Doesn't work in Ireland. No explanation what the different colour areas are on the map. Gives a list of advisories but doesn't show where they are on the map.

Your first tool in your drone arsenal!
Jun 12, 2019 AirMaps is the first App while planning a mission. It continues to be a great tool in my drone services company. Become an industry standard. Living on the West Coast our National parks, controlled airspace, and airports. I can schedule a flight or get LAANC clearance immediately. It gives me the ceiling height at all class airports. Info about the airport. A “ authorized” or “ unauthorized” to fly. The information and resources this app offers are top-quality! You must use AirMaps!more -
Jan 12, 2021 Very good app. I have not found any glitches but have not been outside my home area but that area is no where near major cities... pretty much out in BFE.

Dec 9, 2020 Works again as of December 2020! An older version would constantly crash on my Pixel 4a, but I just tried the current version and it's working well. -
The Go-To drone App
Jan 21, 2018 The fact that this app lets you specify whether you’re flying recreationally or under commercially pt. 107 is amazing. Being able to develop flight plan and being provided a checklist is awesome. One annoying thing: a lot of the advisories get cut off with a “...” and there seems to be no way to read the rest of the advisory which seems like a serious issue.more -
Five mile radius no longer shows up.
Jun 24, 2019 It seems that now it only shows you a radius of one mile around an airport when before it showed the one mile no fly radius and a five mile required notification radius. I’m not sure if the laws changed but the five mile radius was extremely helpful and I don’t know why the would take it away.more

Fly view worthless, but generally not bad
Apr 3, 2018 In general the app seems to be pretty accurate in my area of the world, provides useful information. The one main reason I downloaded this was the support for DJI and fly view which doesn't seem to work and even if it did, there is zero documentation available. This should be a goto pre flight app and particularly so for the DJI owner, but not so much. So I gave it a 3.more -
Oct 20, 2020 Worked great on Android 9. Never could get drone control in 10 and same issue persists with 11. Still valuable for checking airspace, would be terrific if it would handle flight as well.

Contains old information
Oct 26, 2017 For hobbyist flyers, this app still contains incorrect information. Specifically, it states that hobbyist flyers must register with the FAA. Not only is that incorrect (there is no requirement for hobbyists to register with the FAA, as that law was overturned by Congress), but the information was actually incorrect anyway. It was the PILOT who was required to register, not the drone (UAS). The same registration number (of the pilot) was placed on each aircraft; it was never possible to register individual aircraft.more
