Update #2: sorry it took me so long.... we now have the option to start at the new chapter without replaying earlier ones. Thanks so much for listening, Developers! Five stars! Really fun game. Can't wait for chapter 5. Update: chapter 3 was excellent fun! But please give us the option to start at the new chapter if we've already played the earlier chapters. More about this below. Thanks, Yak games! It's a great game and getting better with the new parts. Lighthearted room escape type puzzle game. You're an agent searching the home of a spy in order to catch her. She has secret rooms, safes, codes, etc. the puzzles are fun.... not too difficult but still entertaining. I took off two stars for two reasons: it's quite short, and there's a very long lag time when moving from one room to another - it's sooooo slooooow - which definitely hinders the enjoyment of the game. Did anyone else have that problem? Developers: can you speed up the transition time? Other than that, a fun game that's short and sweet.... definitely worth the 99 cents.

I've just finished that ambitious escape game - good design and humour..but frustrating and annoying, too. Most puzzles rely on memory more than intelligence or creativity, also you have to click far too often to get from one point to another. I'd say that I'd recommend it only when you've already finished the "Faraway"- game series you'll find in the store. They're one level above this one I must say..

My son and I had played this game together over a year and finally got to play the last chapter. Lots of people complained about the last chapter being rushed and not as good as the previous chapters! Come on people, the game developers worked hard to give us such a well-thought game, stop complaining and start appreciating it. Life has ups and downs, so is everything else! So if they had the chapters reverse, then would you call it a good game? They had already thought of extremely good game in the beginning already, gave you all the quality they could, then of course sometimes in the end it gets a little less exciting but it’s still good. Don’t sit there and expect too much and too high up just because you paid a few bucks and allow yourself to talk trash when things don’t turn out the way you expect. So easy for the people that just sit and talk garbage of others! How about trying to think of an easy game first to see how hard it is to design something!

Fun game. Art and audio are great. Running back and forth across the map gets a bit tedious. Great way to kill a day. If you play it all at once, you can basically remember where most things are which makes it pretty easy. Only a handful of clues are really hidden, and most puzzles are pretty simple, save for one or two. Give it a try 👍

I am going to start this by saying I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS, but I have to say something about this game.. Initially, I was looking for a point and click adventure game, but when I came across this, the graphics caught my eye and I decided to purchase and download it. This isn’t just a simple escape the room kind of game. It is like a mix of both that and a point and click adventure. It has a story line like a point and click would. I normally don’t enjoy escape the room games because there isn’t normally any kind of purpose or story. They are usually just thrown together. This one is not. It also has some great humor in it, too (which I love). I also love how the levels flow nicely with the story instead of jumping into an entirely different/new setting/purpose each time a level is completed. Also! It is not too hard. Sometimes games like this get so hard that you’re literally clicking on anything and everything to figure out what to do next...or I have to cheat and use google, but this is just challenging enough. You know what you need to do or look for next, it’s just figuring out where to look and how to get it accomplished that is the challenge. All of the challenges are practical and make sense. You’re not looking for an item in some random spot no one would ever think to look and you’re not looking for things in places they would never belong. This game is worth the money. I promise.

Great escape room type game. Love the art style, nicely animated with some good voice acting. The dialogue that pops up when you interact with items and puzzles is genuinely funny a lot of the time. The puzzles are enjoyable, not too hard most of the time but some are tricky and you'll need to write stuff down. Plenty of gameplay too which is great. Well worth the money and looking forward to Agent B!
  • What a disappointing ending! Aug 31, 2019

My Daughter and I enjoyed playing this game so much! Especially chapters 1-3 with great puzzles that made us really use our brains. Chapter 4 fell a little short of the standards set by the previous ones, but was good enough, and laid the ground for a very promising and exciting chapter 5. After after a very frustrating 20 month wait, where we literally checked for updates everyday, expectations were high when it was finally released. I thought it would have been at least at the same level of chapters 1-3. Instead, we were finished within a few hours, without even thinking too hard, and with a very anticlimactic and expected ending. It feels like the “Final blow” was rushed through the door at the last minute. This game had so much potential for a way better and more exciting ending! I feel so let down. Now I know the difficulties and resources needed to develop such a great game, but I feel Yak and Co. really dropped the ball on this one. Maybe someone just downloading the game now without having to wait wouldn’t mind, but for us fans who followed this great game since the beginning, this is a rather cruel ending.

I enjoyed the game and will keep playing, but the latest update left me cold. In the fourth section in particular, there are all these visual clues running through but we never actually meet the puzzles — instead you’re just trotting from screen laboriously back to start to gather scraps of blueprint. Who cares? There were too often stretches with very little breadth in story 4. Most of the time I spent with only one puzzle in front of me, rather than having multiple fronts to work against. The game is much more fun when I have six things I know are clues and three things I need to find solution for. (Earlier sections do better on this.) Finally, the pinch to step back is cute in theory but slow in practice and often unreliable. I’d much rather have a plain old back button at the bottom of the inventory pane.

This game was enjoyable in many ways. Most of the dialogue is amusing, some of is funny. The puzzles are challenging, some I had to get help with. The game control is easy and the storyline is entertaining. But, there is an awful lot of backtracking and repetitiveness, and a lot of note taking is required. However, my biggest issue is that it's taking too long for the sequel! I will probably reinstall and play again when the sequel comes out but until then I'm not sure it's worth $5.
  • HORRIBLE GAME DO NOT BUY Jun 19, 2019

    By ILikeBirds491
I spent six bucks to play a good puzzle game. Paying that much money, one would expect to enjoy the game and for it to be long and quizzical. I finished the game in less than four days. Sure the plot line is somewhat interesting, but the game is a complete and total ripoff. There is only four chapters available, and the fifth one requires you to subscribe to their website. Not happy with the gameplay as it it very unrealistic and never something you would spend six bucks on. The developers are laughing in their chairs seeing how much people have bought this game. Yes, there is an option to replay a chapter but it’s not as fun if there was a longer plot. One star for the lazy effort by the developers, forcing the players to subscribe to their website, and for being overpriced and a complete waste of six dollars.
  • Chapter 5 very disappointed. Aug 29, 2019

    By exmrjoshua
It took me about 15 minutes to make it through Chapter 5, which was made worse by the amount of time we waited for the final release. Which wouldn’t have been so bad had we not been promised chapter 5 months before it’s actual release. This game is a lot of fun, chapters 1-4 have a good amount of challenge, and the narrative is good. Chapter 5 seemed just kinda tacked with only real puzzle and a bunch of back and forth. I gave the benefit of the doubt, waiting for chapter 5. I am very disappointed and feel a bit let down. As I said, overall the game is excellent, but I’ve been here since day 1 waiting for the next chapters, with the last one being the most anticipated. With all of the delays, I could understand if it was better than this.
  • Waiting to chapter 5 forever and I think I know why Mar 31, 2019

    By Meeeeeug
They keep giving different timelines for releasing the final chapter and never meet the deadline. I think I know why. They must be developing a new game at the same time and don't want to release the final chapter until they have a new game to market with it. Otherwise they will miss out on big sales while people are still excited about their company's products. Makes sense, but at least be honest about your claims. EDIT: Of course I was right. On their website they are advertising an upcoming game, Down in Bermuda. I would love to buy that game too, but don't really trust this developer anymore.
  • Really fun but no final chapter Apr 12, 2019

Update: 1 star. You guys gave up on this game for your new endeavours.. I loved the game, a great and clever mix of everything that’s fun about escape/point&click games. But I have to judge it as a whole and the developers just can’t seem to finish it. Have been waiting for the last chapter way too long. You know when you watch a movie and the story is gripping, acting performance and dialogue is spot on, but then the ending is just disappointing.. That’s the feeling you’re left with when leaving the Theater. So yeah, 2 Stars. Especially since the developers should have reaped a rough $4million in app sales.
  • Chapter 5 will come at a “COST”! Apr 27, 2019

    By Gratererest
I am willing to bet that when and IF chapter 5 makes it’s eventual debut they are going to want US to PAY MORE $$ to get it! I sent them an email in January and they made all these excuses as to why Chapter 5 is taking so long and I replied with my opinion that this is what ruins companies because they take forever to finish and needless to say they did not reply a second time. It really disgusts me that they cannot be honest and upfront about their plans. I for one would not even consider purchasing anything else from Yak for fear it would NEVER be FINISHED!! Unhappily yours, A once loyal customer.

I loved this game when I got it, not realizing that the last chapter hasn’t come out. It’s been well over a year with many promises and they still haven’t released it. Then I found out that they are working on a new game? Bad business practice. I deleted the game, and when chapter 5 comes out, I will play though the whole thing again (what choice do I have? It’s been so long I can’t remember it anymore) but I will NOT be spending my money on anymore games from yak. You lost a customer because of your dishonesty.
  • What happened? Nov 29, 2017

    By Darthgimp
Just downloaded the game and discovered that apparently they removed the option to navigate back via an arrow in the upper-left corner and now the only option is the two-fingered tap. While I'm sure that's fine for most people, it's incredibly frustrating to a disabled gamer such as myself who can't perform that particular gesture. Suddenly, without any warning in the "version history" that the feature had been removed, what looked like a promising point-and-click adventure (that I spent $1.99 on) is rendered unplayable to me. Truly disappointing!
  • Disappointment at rushed ending Sep 16, 2019

Game started off great. Wait for almost two years for the ending was extreme. Ending is now here, and all I can say is what a disappointment. The last chapter was short, easy, and the ending came out of nowhere, and didn’t even really finish off the story. I should change my title, as this wasn’t rushed,it was just poorly done. Don’t waste your time playing this. A lot of us wasted a lot of our time and money on this, and the developers really let us down.

I beat all 4 chapters in about 2 hours, but it’s definitely a fun play. Some of the writing is a bit cringe-y, but the visuals and gameplay are great. Some parts very easy, some a bit more challenging, other parts running around trying to figure out what you missed. Reminds me of computer games I loved as a kid. Wish Chapter 5 was done for some closure, but they obviously spent a great deal of time developing this. 4.5/5, could be perfect if they finessed the writing a bit (I don’t think a suave, mustache’d Agent A would have the same goofy thoughts as a 14-year old kid, but that’s just my $0.02). If the main character was much younger, I think the writing style for his voice would make more sense, but the “squee!” kind of inner thoughts don’t match the James Bond exterior. Again, I’m being picky, the game is definitely still worth the download.

Honestly, this was one of the most enjoyable and engaging escape room style games I've ever played. There were times when a hint option would've been helpful. The last few scenes had me stumped a lot, mostly due to not tapping the exact spot needed. Overall, I loved it and I hope you do more!

If you’ve played a lot of iOS puzzle games, Agent A doesn’t really offer anything original. The first major chapter is basically a room escape game using puzzles similar to the adware apps from several Japanese developers. The second chapter is more about unlocking a mystery box like you’d find in the Room series. The remaining two chapters have a more open exploration feel (with much backtracking) but have the same “now I need to find a wrench” feel. What Agent A does well though is wrap these familiar mechanics into a premium package. The scale is much larger than what you get with freeware or adware. The graphics and music are attractive and thematically consistent. There is an obvious homage to 60’s spy drama, but it’s more “Get Smart” than Bond, and there are several shoutouts to the series. There is just enough plot to add some emotional stakes.
  • Love it! Dec 7, 2017

It's a great game! I like the comments that Agent A makes on Ruby's objects (whether they are useful tools or not). The setting for how to use different objects is also very good. You actually need some brain and common sense to be able to get the solutions, but they are not that hard to get to. I particularly liked the part in Chapter 4 of filling the empty bucket with water and pouring it on the electricity box to get through the walls of the signal tower. And the part of the steam in the bathroom showing the solution to the clock in Chapter 1 (or maybe it's 2). Graphics also nice! One thing which might be a flaw though: I think a normal agent/spy will not simply just believe every word the enemy says. But in Chapter 3, it looks like that Agent A just believed that hitting the red button would stop the bomb. Of course, she had nothing better to do then, being locked and watched by Ruby. But I would expect at least a few sentences of doubts, thoughts and struggles in her mind. Same problem in Chapter 4. I would assume that, after hitting the button and blowing up the bridge at the end of Chapter 3, Agent A will feel at least some guilt or regret, but I don't see much of it. Overall, great game but there is definitely room for improvement! Can't wait for Chapter 5!

Really nice aesthetic to the game. The graphics are really cool. The story was compelling enough for a mobile game. I do wish it were longer. The first few levels felt really short. I got stuck a few times and had to look up a play through. Some of the hints were a bit weak for me, hence the -1 star. I got the game on sale for $2. It was $2 well spent.
  • What about the melon?? Aug 31, 2019

I want to applaud the devs on this game, it was fun. I’m a little bit more of a seasoned player with these games, but even considering the puzzles were a little on the easy side sometimes for me, I still enjoyed the game. Just a thought, I always thought it was absolutely enjoyable & fantastic when I could play a game in a game. Possible spoilers next for those who haven’t progressed : That said I feel you fell a little short with the watermelon.. I thought for sure we were going to be blowing that watermelon to smithereens as a game or even a player in a game (for me, that would have turned this good game into a totally entertaining game) instead of just watching it be shot on the screen.. it was meh.. thanks for all your hard work

Like any of the match item games, cute put things together and solve the puzzles to continue the story. I got a kick out of the several fictional spy references and in jokes (not just Bond but Get Smart etc., shoe phone..)
  • Great Game Frustrating Ending Nov 15, 2017

    By Chibi Weebee
I loved the game. It was a great way to kill time without having to play one of those match 3 games which are all the same. The puzzles are challenging and the premise is entertaining. I enjoyed having to collect items in order to access puzzles and having to solve puzzles before you can move forward. My only complaint would be the ending. You do all of this work and end up unable to complete the entire objective of the game!! I’m sure that they are setting it up for a sequel which, unfortunately we will probably have to pay for.
  • Standard point-and-click with some nice production value Jun 12, 2019

    By Jwglh
As far as point and click adventures go Agent A is very average with non complex puzzles that require little more thought than paying attention to detail as you explore the environment so you can recognize the puzzles’ solutions when you encounter them. Agent A really shines with its high production value and 60’s James Bondesque style, decor, and soundtrack. A nice diversion and experience for newer adventurers, but veterans of the genre will probably be little more than amused...

When is the 5th chapter coming? understand it takes time but it’s been MONTHS, please tell me when it’s coming you can’t blame us for constantly asking this question the game is so freaking awesome and you have left us hanging on semi cliffhanger and half of of the last mission/takes please reply as soon as you can. I’m will give 5 starts when I ply the 5th chapter
  • Perfect with the current discount Nov 25, 2017

It's a fun twist on the virtual puzzle room genre. You find items and codes to complete puzzles, find keys, and advance the game. The puzzles are all fairly intuitive. It was a bit short, but at the current discounted price (and with a new chapter being released soon) it was worth it. My favorite part was the kitty. As soon as I got the correct item, I knew what it was for. :-)

  • What a disappointing ending! Aug 31, 2019

    By Captain froggie
  • Great game however Nov 23, 2019

I really enjoy this game. I have played it countless times mainly on my Apple TV. It’s fun, doesn’t get boring and has a wonderful classic feel. However I’m only giving 3 stars. My biggest complaint and frustration is when Chapter 5 came out I no longer could play it on my Apple TV. You open the game and says to connect a game pad with no way to proceed without a game pad. A game pad is not necessary to play or enjoy this game and it’s really frustrating that a game that I’m pretty sure cost me money is forcing me to procure a piece of equipment that is not integral to gameplay. While it might make playing a little easier I had no issues using my remote. I can’t even use the apple tv remote app on my iPhone as a game pad even though it has a game pad mode. It’s extremely frustrating and I think it was a huge oversight to make gameplay impossible on the AppleTV without a game pad. At the very least make it optional, it’s no detriment to the developers so there’s no reason to not have the option.

It's a great game, but it's missing a map or something. It's tedious having to go through every room to get where you want to go and I almost didn't continue playing because of it. Would give 5 stars if it had a map to go directly to each room.
  • Fun game, horrible ending Aug 30, 2019

    By kingmario5
The game is fun, the first four chapters are definitely worth it. However, my 3 star review is because it seemed like the company didn’t care about the game anymore in chapter 5. The dialogue was horrible, and the chapter seemed rushed and not well thought out. For having delay upon delay, you’d think it would be the best chapter, but basic puzzles in a chapter that took 15-30 minutes at most, was disappointing to say the least. I was not challenged at all and felt as if I was just completing the game to complete it. I’m assuming, based on the ending, they might make another type of game like this. I just pray they put more thought into it and don’t release a garbage game like the last chapter. It’s a shame they would just toss this chapter out to say they completed the game. It sort of gives me low hopes for Down In Bermuda which I was looking forward too.
  • I’d love to give 5 ratings... but chapter 5 is too disappointing. Aug 31, 2019

    By Kakakakakakakao
I’m a huge fan of Agent A game. I’d really love to give full stars for it because it’s so much fun. I love the story, the interaction, puzzles, and graphics, but the only reason I gave 3 stars is that the chapter 5, which I’d waited for soooo loooong time, is too short and disappointing. I mean, when yak and co said be patient for the final chapter, I literally check their website and app store for the update almost every day - I was excited and had a high anticipation like that. But the final chapter is too short, involves less thoughts, and an disappointing ending. I thought I have some alternative ending at least, but I don’t think so.... I’ll try to get every trophy just for fun and get the best out of it, but please consider making a sequel or something. Overall, this is one of the best puzzle and interactive game so far. It’s worth the money for sure. I also expect and am waiting to play for their next game - either Agent B or whatever the new game they’re making. Thanks for the great game, yak and co, but like I mentioned, please consider adding the bonus stage or the sequel for Agent A. Keep up the good work! Thanks.

Mostly fun, and definitely worth a few quid. The puzzles are not particularly difficult, you won't get stuck, but it's still satisfying. My main complaint is that the gameplay is padded out by long journeys - they place a key at one end of the map, the door at the other, behind the door is something you need back where you found the key. You're back and forth, back and forth, making a simple task into a chore. That's not a puzzle. But still, I enjoyed it.
  • It has its good points Feb 10, 2018

    By Backseat Devil
It’s fun and quirky, certainly not written with the same level of detail or intellect as The Room series. The oversimplified premise and the gender-specific play is more burdensome than beneficial. I’m assuming this was designed by someone who watched 2 episodes of Archer and wanted to make a simple adventure game “for all of us.” It’s more cute than clever. I am not yet convinced it’s worth the price tag, but I’m going to continue playing. The hidden patterns are great, but sometimes the “do this before that” is convoluted and doesn’t make a lot of sense. The bright graphics is a big plus factor.
  • disappointed Aug 29, 2019

    By So friggen cool
this game was great at first, slightly challenging and witty but then with the whole push back on the release of the final chapter to have me beat it in under an hour? What were the last 8 months spent working on? i’m just happy I don’t have to wait around any longer. also the end credits was a cop out. “here’s a little teaser to keep you interested enough to hopefully pass over the fact we dropped the ball on this last chapter and made you wait so long” sad.
  • These chapters though Oct 12, 2018

    By Hector2683
This game is AMAZING. But the story gets delivered by chunks, for what looks like eternities. The devs say they are only two working, hence the delay... now boys, you should have sold a very hefty amount of games by now... time to hire more devs. If you keep the humongous wait time between chapters, your game will most def love a short life. Take advantage of the good reviews you have right now, use the momentum and hire more people asap! I would hate seeing this game dying because of lack of content. :(
  • Good game, bad developers Jul 3, 2019

    By Godlvr
I loved this game when I got it, not realizing that the last chapter hasn’t come out. It’s been well over a year with many promises and they still haven’t released it. Then I found out that they are working on a new game? Bad business practice. I deleted the game, and when chapter 5 comes out, I will play though the whole thing again (what choice do I have? It’s been so long I can’t remember it anymore) but I will NOT be spending my money on anymore games from yak. You lost a customer because of your dishonesty.

    By KonkeyDongOne

    By Atom1138
Game started off great. Wait for almost two years for the ending was extreme. Ending is now here, and all I can say is what a disappointment. The last chapter was short, easy, and the ending came out of nowhere, and didn’t even really finish off the story. I should change my title, as this wasn’t rushed,it was just poorly done. Don’t waste your time playing this. A lot of us wasted a lot of our time and money on this, and the developers really let us down.
