There are so many customisable options for this app - need to layer 5 different designs onto each other? This app lets you do so with ease. Particularly handy if you use other Adobe software as well.

To really fuel your child's creativity it could be a good idea to get them sketching fashion ideas, and this app is a great way of doing that. It features various different options and tools, meaning they'll be able to spend 10s of hours here.

I work as a prop stylist and set designer at a commercial photography studio and our design department switched from pencil & paper to iPads and Adobe Sketch around 3 years ago and never looked back. It’s like a pen and paper, but WAY easier and didn’t feel overwhelming to even our most non tech savvy department members. While some department members opt for more involved set design apps with 3D ability, etc., most prefer the ease of Sketch and, because of this, my only complaint about the app would be the ability to have more control over how work gets organized and sent back and forth. We often reuse our set components and it would be nice to be able to quickly share our designs with each other without flattening the image layers so that if we wanted to reuse a set and make minor changes, we could go into their past work and be able to make those changes without disrupting any of the intricate details (like window trim, molding, etc.) and do so quickly by sharing or air dropping. Additionally, I wish it was easier to organize our files and merge project folders. We’ve all gotten the hang of how to organize by now, but still have old projects that are each in their own folders and it gets visually hectic/crowded. However, overall I give this app 5 stars because it has completely change the way we work and we are grateful!

Being a car nut since playing with HotWheels as a kid, My love for cars grew to model cars and eventually Art. After taking Art in JR High I spent hours sketching various cars which I loved but knew I could probably never obtain in real life. Good at first but lately is kinda eh. I used to have no problems, but recently it's been lagging really bad. Not only do my drawings duplicate randomly, but my brush glitches and completely throws me off. It stalls constantly and is really annoying. Overall it's really good, I'm just not enjoying the new update.

Overall decent app and does what I want it to do. There are two main problems with this app though; one is that I can't turn my phone orientation to landscape. Even when the canvas itself is landscape the screen is frozen in portrait. It's tedious trying to draw that way since I get less of what I need in frame. The other issue is that the ruler tool responds slowly, if at all. Because of those issues I have to take a star off. Otherwise an easy to use app.

Please read this Developers. I would like to thank those who made this, because it is perfect. I love all of the different drawing tools, it’s easy to use once you know how, the color wheel works perfectly, and I love how I can have so many different projects. One more just amazing thing that I really admire: you don’t show drawing tools no then tell us we have to buy the upgrade. You show us amazing drawing tools and let us use them. I can use my Apple Pencil with it, which is great. All of the drawing tools are great, and in my experience they never glitch. Also you can actually select the color you want to use from your drawing. I use that all the time. Also you can have all the different brushes you select have different colors their using. One tiny bug is that sometimes if I close a project for a while because I want to work on something else (and by for a while I mean for a month or so, so it’s usually not a problem), when I come back, even though I had different brushes when I worked on it, it goes back to the default. But I get it if it’s hard to track all of that, which is why I don’t mind it too much. I wanted to give you a full five stars, also, because I don’t care much about the bug, I just thought you should know. This app is definitely worth five stars, so thank you for making it possible.
  • Blown away by the watercolor in this app May 17, 2018

    By sorchay
Kudos to whoever programmed the watercolor part of this app! This is my favorite painting app by far, and I’ve tried several including the most popular and paid art apps. What keeps me coming back (addicted!) to Adobe Sketch is the beautiful subtlety of how the paint interacts with the surface. Other apps can achieve fairly realistic edges and blending, but with my brush stylus and this app, I feel like I’m painting with watercolor, the way real watercolor works. I forget that I’m working in digital format because the tools seem to work the same way. The paper is “wet” at first and the paint interacts with it, spreads and dries down. Washes interact with each other, and the flow setting is so intuitive, works the same as deciding water to pigment ratio. This app is so realistic I even found myself instinctively lifting paint. Not erasing, but lifting with water just as I would in real life. Love the rest of the app too but I’m especially appreciative of the obvious care that went into the watercolor functions. Thanks! One wish: it would round out the experience if I could have a palette of preselected colors set out instead of choosing anew each time I change colors, but I get by with the color picker. It’s just a little slower than having key colors already “mixed” and at the ready while I paint.

Ok so let's start with the downs. Can't zoom in very much, needs few more starting brushes ( not that big of a deal ). And where you can put pictures in it so you can edit them, now I do not know a lot in this (I just know the basics so if there is a way I will probably find out soon). 😐😍 it's really good also because it has layers and I love the " paint brush " with the paint texture it's AMAZING definitely my favorite brush out of all of them I've tried so far. If you could make the paint brush be able to be more fine/thin that would be great 👍🏻😃😄. I love this and I'd say it's about 7 out of 10 compared to a general PC version. I think all it needs is a few tweaks to be one of the best ( maybe even the best ) photoshop/editing program on the App Store. This is probably the BEST photoshop type thing I've tried besides sketch book ( another one for IOS App Store ). Overall this is great and I use it every day to improve my editing/ animation skills, I also like to do this as a hobby ( when I'm bored ) or just for fun. 😄 ( edit ) Please make it so we can zoom in more... I animate on this and I love this app but I wish we could zoom in a little bit more. Please add this and this will be better this is already AMAZING! 😄.

This app is pretty good to use, BUT for the people who want their art looking like it's in Procreate this app isn't for you. Personally the lines are a little too light but other artists like that. I like how you can blend colours like you can in realife art. If you added bolder lines and more brushes for the cartoonists everyone would be happy! But that's probably a little too much for you to put in one app.

So far so good. Seems to deliver. I absolutely love this app. It has renewed my passion for drawing and sketching. It has not crashed or deleted my sketches I already had an account, perhaps rhat is the difference. If using for the FIRST TIME, create an account first, log in. Should keep your files. I use a Samsung note 20. Will update after I install on my tablet and pc.

This app is great if you want to get into drawing or sketching but it has it limits. As you add more colour and varied brushstrokes it does start to bog down. The biggest issue I've had is that I can't open my projects anymore. I've gone from no issues to "This document size is too large to be opened on your device" in the space of a few hours with no clear reason why.

Been using this app since the beginning of the year and I had been enjoying it until this month where it constantly freezes and crashes literally every minute or so. It's took all of the joy out of drawing and it has made it borderline impossible to complete drawings. I would love for this to be fixed but I doubt it will be fixed anytime soon. I'm gonna have to abandon my current project of 10 drawings and I'm going to have to find another app to use. I've done everything in my power to fix

Adobe’s creative ecosystem makes it almost impossible to be creative without signing up, signing in, digging into your bank account.... monthly, working without a network connection and paying for another upgrade to the application. I’ve been working with Apple products since 1989 and I consider myself to be fairly tech oriented. I bought an iPad Pro specifically to work with lightroom and other Adobe products. Honestly, I can’t get half of their products to work anymore. Unless you are some kind of Adobe fan boy, you will realize that there are other products out there that far surpass the performance and price of most Adobe products. Save the monthly fees and your sanity from trying to get this bloatware to operate as you would expect and FIND ANOTHER WAY. Adobe was is king once upon a time but all empires eventually collapse. Adobe is more interested in connecting to your bank account for its monthly extraction than it is interested in creating a product that are actually useful. I don’t want your slow cloud, I don’t want to be stressed out with my machine can’t remember my Adobe ID so that I can use your app, I don’t want another monthly fee so that the application that I already purchased will do what it should already do. Skip this product and go give your money to a developer who will actually make your creative experience seamless and enjoyable. Like Procreate. Now I’m gonna go delete all of adobes applications off of my iPad Pro and I will never look back.

The drawing part is not bad, aside from some odd detection that could just be the Note pen.... but the interface needs a lot of work. Be careful so you don't sketch for like an hour then bump the little x in the corner and instantly delete everything with no confirmation after the app failed to send your image via discord. Not sure I'll be wasting my time on this again. It also wants you to sign in to use it, which is just a little creepy...

I love this app, but the problem with it is that in the middle of my sketches, the app will stop responding and crash, it's making me want to change to another app, i would hate to do that because i've gotten so used to adobe Photoshop sketch. it's become incredibly inconvenient.

Terrible. I do love this app in terms of implementations of everything.. BUT.. the worst part is it crashes. Probably bugged. Faulty. So if you dont want to lose your hair after your hours and hours of work, dont even bother. Unless that will be addressed and fixed , no doubt the best of them all.. but for now.. NEVER..
  • Do NOT Download Mar 17, 2019

    By Ethereal92
I am so livid at the moment. I used to have ProCreate on my iPad before it broke and decided to try my art on my phone. Procreate was almost $7 at the time, and without a job I didn’t have that kind of money. Instead, I downloaded Adobe Sketch. It was fine at first. Trashy brush options and little you could do to alter them in any way, yeah, but it got the job done. Until today. I’ve had this app for a while, a little over a year, and have had constant problems with it. None of them were as bad as this week, though. I started a project when I first downloaded this app, spent so much time and energy into working on it until it was almost, ALMOST perfect, and got off of the app about two weeks ago. I decided to jump back on and finish it up, save it to my device, and post it on my business page, when there was suddenly nothing. The project was there when I went to open it, but after a moment of loading, every layer I had open was blank. Empty. Nothing I could try to fix it worked. Several emails later and all they told me to do was exactly what I’d already done, until finally I just stopped receiving emails for support. Since then, other projects of mine have been slowly vanishing with no explanation and no way to fix it. Downloading this app is a waste of time and effort. Don’t do it. You’ll regret it.
  • Great tool, but can’t export a quality format Aug 7, 2018

    By AriesDesign
Great tool to learn and use, but I can’t get my sketches out in a format that works for me. It’s a major disappointment as I found the tool itself to work well for my flow up until I need to get anything out of it. Unless I’m completely missing something, the only options I get to share/export are a link to a low res carousel of images or to create a Behance page. Could use at least an export to PDF to email or share to Dropbox. Can’t even share to creative cloud as that icon is inexplicably greyed out. I’m literally having to screenshot then airdrop them to my computer so I can put them in a presentation. Terrible experience in contrast to everything else. It’s so frustrating as I really want to use this, but it kills the app’s usability for me. Guess I’ll have to go use another application. I hear Procreate is better in general anyways.
  • Less features than a low tier app developer. Aug 22, 2019

    By the second best illustrator
I am using my iPad Pro 2018 as my digital tablet. You can not import images from adobe photo express. You can not import any images from any where except illustrator cloud. You can not import *.psd files. You can not send feedback from within the app because the option button doesn’t work. This app is horrid on features from a top tier developer, when the newbies give better features for free. I expect more from a company whom I have spent over $2k in the past on software. I just gave a company $3.99 and got an app that kicks adobe sketch off the option table, no crap subscriptions. Look else where. One good thing is it is free to try out, so you know how terrible and lacking the app is. Do better adobe. Please.
  • Not functional Feb 13, 2019

    By DisraeliGears01
This, and all the Adobe iOS programs I’ve experienced are so hamstrung that it’s nigh impossible to use them for simple functions. There’s no reason on earth this application can’t have text input or magic wand, aside from Adobe wanting a sub fee. That’s fine! Release a fully functional Photoshop for iOS and I’ll happily pay you for it! In the meantime, don’t shove out a sketching app only differentiated in functionality to dozens of others by its ties to the Adobe ecosystem. Don’t even get me starting on why Adobe has 10-15 apps doing work that 3-5 could handle. I’ve realized that the program side of Adobe is just as bad as Flash, and literally the only reason they exist is because they got in early.

I wanted to give you a full five stars, also, because I don’t care much about the bug, I just thought you should know. This app is definitely worth five stars, so thank you for making it possible.
  • Blown away by the watercolor in this app May 17, 2018

I’ve been using this app for a while now (two or three years, maybe?) and its REALLY GOOD. Of course it has its downsides, like limitations on certain things such as the layers and brush sizes, but otherwise, its great. Besides, its free. At the same time, there are some features I would like to have. For one, it would be really nice to have a fill/paint bucket tool. It’s really time consuming to finish the line art of a drawing then having to create a separate layer to color in everything. With something like that, 15 minutes of base coloring turns into 30 seconds. I don’t really have a problem with the layers because I never really use too many, merging some together whenever I reach the limit. However, I’d really love the zoom to be bigger. I understand that adobe sketch isn’t a vector based app (at least I don’t think it is...), but when I try to add detail to something, the limit to the zoom is pretty unhelpful. Nevertheless, if you’re looking for a fairly high quality art program for the minimum price, I suggest Adobe Sketch.

I have used this continuously for the past 2 years with 2017 iPad Pro and Apple Pencil 1. It works really well. I like drawing with pencil, so that is honestly all I have used. But I can say this has made me like drawing more on an iPad than in real life (odd to say that) Functions such as undo, repeat, ability to create layers, copy drawing, translate layers, etc., become second nature after enough use. And when they do, it feels very fluid. Give it time to build this second nature, you won’t be disappointed. Now for a comment to the developers (not a complaint). One thing I would like the developers to do is allow you to reduce the pencils/pens on the side bar. So far I have used the pencil, pen, and eraser. I don’t use any of the others provided. It would be nice to hid the pens I do not use and ONLY have the ones you use out. Again, this is not a complaint, this is more of me thinking of something that (in my mind) could make the App even better. After all, it is an awesome app that is entirely free.

I had searched so hard to find an app that would seek my art needs. I looked at some animation apps, some weird kid doodling ones, and some very high tech apps. I finally got this one because of the great reviews. I thought it was pretty hard to use at first, and thought about getting a new app. BUT I decided to try it out. Happy about my decision I have created some of the cutest artwork!! This helped me evolve my art style (which I was desperate to do.) It surprisingly became a mix of both my old and new art styles which is WAY better than either styles individually. Many compliments to this app, and thanks for letting it all be free. This app should cost 4.99, but I’m glad it doesn’t! I have no current requests to this wonderful app except for a smear option, so thanks for reading my review.

I really do enjoy that they made a specific application for the iPad. The tools are laid out nicely and very organized, I felt that on the iPad it doesn’t crowd the screen like it does on the PC version. The brushes are finally easier access! It’s as easy as tapping on the left side, and you have complete control of your brush strokes using the flow dynamics. It was a bit of learning curve at first but they have a nice tutorial for every new user before you dive in blind. Overall, I wasn’t fan of Photoshop on the PC but they did such a good job on breaking every tool down and simplified it into this app, that I have now become a fan. The only thing that I would change (that’s the reason I gave it 4 stars) is that I would do something about the touch gestures. Even though they are great and easy to use. I’m actually left handed and draw in all sorts of positions I even flip my hand upside down to draw certain areas. The reason is that my hand keeps touching the screen and I have to constantly go back erase the left over lines my hand has drawn. Other than that phenomenal job on the app you have truly redeemed yourself with this application! Many Thanks Adobe, CJ

Amazing app but ridiculous. Been doing some research and file functionality and managing your brushes still seems to be a feature that’s "brushed" aside. No option to delete brushes transferred from the CC files to iPad. You cannot move or rename them either. No way of telling if you already uploaded your brushes while navigating through the CC folder. If you get a duplicate of over 300 brushes your out of luck. Official forums from over a year ago only offer a solution to uninstall. The other option is just plain ridiculous. They want you to delete your brushes form CC, but that still doesn’t tell me where they went on my device. I don’t even know if the duplicates were removed when I reinstalled the app because IOS and adobe won’t allow me the access to that kind of quality of life. The brushes are the only appeal to this app currently because I use them on my PC. UPDATE:Brushes are still there and did not delete. I like to stay in control and organized so this really turns me away from the app. UPDATE 2: Wiped my CC folder. Reinstalled Sketch. Brushes still present, so they’re hidden in the app somehow

As an old doodler, have to give Adobe & partners, a 4.5☆ rating for Sketch which continues to educate me every time I draw or photo sketch a piece. I've purchased stylus pens and a tablet to further enjoy this app as well as the Draw, Illustrater, Lightroom and capture apps. Never boring, they are my favorite pastime now. I'm not an artist yet, but these apps provide possibilities of achieving that goal that never before existed. I can't recommend them enough! If you like to create, get them.

Alright, this app is actually great for drawing offline and just having a snazzy car ride to school, or when you get bored and you have a while until you get somewhere. What it isn’t is something you can use to make full on masterpieces. It’s being said by a lot of people that there aren’t enough brushes and stuff but I’d like to emphasize the fact that it literally says “are you an artist on the go?” That means, translated into regular people talk, “are you sitting on a bus right now bored out of your mind?”. It’s intended use is for you to sketch and draw on it while your sitting on some subway train or in your moms car. Just so you know, don’t get this app expecting to get a masterpiece maker, it’s not that. It’s still awesome to pass the time. Also, if you see this developers, I’d really love a feature that allows you to insert pictures into it and edit them, it would be fun. Thanks for reading this, -Vwenties
  • Great app but libraries brush panel needs a view by group Sep 14, 2019

    By dragonball z is better
Okay so this is little but it’s really annoying. in the libraries panel when you import brushes I wish there was an option to also view by group, because I import my brushes from photoshop cc desktop I have a library called brushes and in my brushes library I have them group by name for example lense flare brushes, smoke brushes, cartoon brushes,ects... all in a their group but all under the same library, but when I open adobe sketch and go to the brushes panel all the brushes are in the same library with no option to see them by group like in the desktop version of libraries, so I have to scroll through 100 brushes just to find the brush I need I hope you guys add this cause I would hate to just make a new library for every single set of brushes. I mean it shouldn’t be hard it’s already an option to group in the desktop apps just wish the mobile was the same. Thank you

I’ve used this app for over a year now, and I love it. To the people complaining that there’s no cut and paste option, just fiddle around with the app some more and you’ll find that you can duplicate and transform layers. If the creators/developers of the app stumble upon my review, I want to say that I’d really like a fill option. It’s time consuming to color things such as hair and find and erase any stray marks that crossed over the lines. On other art programs, there’s virtually always a paint bucket option to fill in shapes. However, this amazing app doesn’t have that feature! If there is, please tell me how to find and use it. Another thing: when I enlarge a layer, it becomes more blurry and pixelated (especially if drawn with the graphite pencil). Will you please change or add some things so that no matter how I dilate the drawing it’s resolution and quality with stay the same? Thank you!

Fun for sketching but just a little bit too limited. More transform tools(distort, warp etc...), lasso select and flip canvas would encourage me to switch from clip studio. I'm also having an issue with pressure sensitivity on my Samsung galaxy, in which, the brush draws large blobs randomly during a brush stroke

They have a phenomenal set of brushes but I hate that you can't export at 300dpi and that you're constrained to default canvas dimensions. If they change that I 'll definitely give 5 stars.

Overall it’s a good app and I like that it’s free but I have some things that are annoying and should be fixed. 1. It’s really annoying that you can’t blend anything which makes it pretty hard to draw people (and other things where you need to blend colors or make something fade) and 2. I hate how you can do the undo button just by sliding two fingers to the left because I’m always trying to zoom in or out and it just keeps undoing my last action. Is there a way to turn this off or get rid of it? It makes it super hard to draw in detail. 3. It would be nice to be able to zoom in more. You can already spoon in more but there was a picture I was coloring and it wouldn’t let me zoom in any more so I couldn’t do it in detail. I don’t mean to complain or anything because it’s actually a good app and it’s super cool how you can draw on your pictures (I’ve made some super cool ones) I would just like it if these things could be fixed. Thank you!!! 😁

This new suite of Adobe apps is another powerful tool to assist designers in broadening their capabilities at providing services that are in synch with today’s demands. Being able to create, edit and share professional quality designs from your phone is an asset and in today’s competitive market. Each of these apps are unique and integrates seamlessly with your Creative Cloud projects. The only issue I’ve had to date is dealing with some less than intuitive menus and the absolutely unnecessary amount of spam that gets tagged in to any design you share through texts... it borders on ridiculous. We don’t need to know in multiple different following messages who made the app, where you can get it, what it does, who it’s from, links to web pages.... on and on, all from sharing one picture. Clean that up and not spam the crap out of my contacts, with your ads forcefully being delivered through private messaging, and we have an almost perfect suite of tools!

It does it's job well enough though the interface is very tricky, I try to slide to the left and it undos my previous action, it gets annoying very quickly. Also, the limit on zooming makes it hard to get the finer details without some third party tool. overall, somewhat disappointed.

  • Can’t open Non-Native PSD files. Dec 30, 2017

    By Somekinaking
While this app in general is absolutely fantastic it doesn’t work well with the other adobe apps. You can import files from Creative Cloud, you can open psd files that did not start in Adobe Sketch despite being able to save Sketch’s files to psd. So if you wanted to move from your laptop to your iPad you could not and if you saved it from your laptop and try to open it back up in Sketch you could not. I would honestly give this a lower rating if it weren’t for the fact the user friendliness and other features were not amazing. It’s sad to see that other creators drawing apps can not only save in psd, open it, interact with adobe’s creative cloud and still offer all of sketch's features and more baffles me. I would love to continue using this app but the inability to crossover makes it a no go for me at the moment.

Please.

If you only care about the basics, this app is great - I like the dynamics and selection of implements. However, it lost me over ONE HOUR of work yesterday when it suddenly crashed. Completely unacceptable, especially now that we have spent so many years with standard autosave. There isn’t even a save button anyways. That aside, there’s a very low ceiling on the number of layers (20), which often makes it unusable. In the sidebar, you are limited to five brushes and an eraser at on time. That would be a big issue for some people. Each retains its own color, FYI. All-in-all, I would stay away from Adobe’s gateway-drug apps. They have a lot of potential, especially when used together, but ultimately you and you clients and colleagues end up trapped in the Adobe universe, where you may not want to be... More seriously, losing work in that manner, even once, is not acceptable in software made by a company of such size, reputation, and experience. Not in 2018 on a 2018 iPad.

I was eager to get this app to try out my favorite Kyle Webster brushes but have thus far been very disappointed. It seems like there needs to be a way to edit the pressure sensitivity of the Apple Pencil, as when I use the pencil all my marks are incredibly light. I have to push very hard to get the brush to work the correct way, too hard to where I feel like I’m going to ruin my screen. When I use my finger to draw the brushes work fine, but for some reason the Apple Pencil doesn’t work at all. Hopefully a future update will fix this, until then I’ll use Procreate where I can adjust the pressure sensitivity of my Apple Pencil!

Don’t rely on Adobe, Adobe cloud, their customer service, or anything but yourself to save it somewhere else safely. I’ve been talking to a representative for over 2 hours just to be insulated and talked down to like I didn’t know what I was talking about. I’ve checked all of my Adobe accounts, inside and out, on multiple apps, tons of my own research. What happened was I opened the app today, to discover all of my content has disappeared without a trace, and I was accused of deleting it myself and changing setting. Even after I said I don’t appreciate being talked to like that and I want to speak to their manager, they continued and ignored my request. I know I was logged in. Because it has asked me to log in before awhile ago and my stuff was still there. They don’t plan on spitting out new updates on this app, so don’t expect much. Very surprised how rude the customer support was. I work in retail so I get it, but it was still uncalled for.
