This is without a doubt the most important vector illustration app ever made and since it was developed by Adobe it will most likely keep this position for decades to come. Knowing how to create illustrations in vector format is no longer an option for artists, it is a necessity. Get started now.

Clunky, amateurish software can turn your creative process into a nightmare. Better opt for a quick, responsive platform packed with features. Allowing for up to 99 layers and 100s of custom-made digital brushes, this professional app is thorough without being overwhelming.

Really the best app . It has the option to choose the canvas you want to. Nice drawing tools. The layers can be edited. It also has option called learn gestures, so that the beginners can find it easy to do the project. If I keep on telling the text space will end. Do see it to yourself. It really has beautiful options. I would prefer to definitely use app. Its just awesome.

As far as the quality and ease of use, this app takes the cake. I’ve struggled to get into digital art because the apps are usually so unfriendly to users, but simplicity and easy to follow tutorials really helped with this app. There’s not a lot of tool options, but they’re all the tool types that I really need. Plus the fact it easily converts to a timelapse is a awesome plus. However, I am sad to say I’m currently looking for a different app as I quickly outgrew my use for this one. If all you plan to do is sketch something quick, this is the app for you. But any real project worth time and effort causes awful lag. I have my iPad Pro up to date, as well as the app, but my larger projects just can’t be supported by the functions of the app. Sometimes it’s a few second delay for a single line to show, opening and closing layers takes ten seconds to load, the fact that if you forget to “convert to timelapse” every few minutes then it will never load, or the zooming/rotating taking another ten seconds to load. It’s bad enough I don’t want anything more to do with this app anymore. Additionally, I’ve learned to work around the lack of a smudge or blur tool, but there are lots of times it would really be perfect for the looks I’m trying to create.

Not the most intuitive app, but once you get the hang of it it's manageable. With complex projects it has a tendency to crash while using the "press&hold to fill" feature, and corrupting the file all together. So be careful. Save, duplicate projects regularly. Work in layers to keep it from glitching as much. If the fill feature doesn't work, hit undo, save it, then retry on another layer.

it's not horrible, but. About the only thing that's really nice is the ability to upload directly to Illustrator and Photoshop and draw in vector. However, it's just sooo basic of an app. Especially coming from an Ipad that has a fully fledged Adobe Illustrator app. Not this "adobe draw." In fact they stopped working on Ipad OS Adobe Draw to focus on their better apps. I just can't believe Adobe hasn't put out anything similar for android. There's hardly any brushes, features etc. Just a few brushes and shapes to mess with, layers panel, and undo button. No frills, that's about it.

A good vector drawing app. I just wish the interface was smaller for drawing on phones. Give us little desktop style icons that pull out to larger windows for adjusting tool settings, so that you don't have to enter full screen mode just to get a little breathing room.

I’ve been using this program for over a year now, and for how simple it is, it’s honestly not only surprising but also highly impressive with how much one can do with so little, and i would fully recommend this for beginners trying to get into digital art. However I do have some complaints, despite me regularly deleting old works and, according to the app, having lots of data space left, should you try to get too detailed or complicated with your art, to program starts to act very slowly to the point of crashing (it does save automatically and for that I’m VERY grateful for, don’t get me wrong) but it would still be nice if the program could handle everything to a stronger extent. Also it would be very cool if they added a text feature, they even have pre-made speech bubbles, but no text features to put in them...Other than these things I have not complaints, and I would totally recommend this to a friend.

I don't spend much time in this app as I only have my mobil phone right now. But what I do know is that like all of adobe products, it performs as advertised. Adobe, takes time to make things as user friendly as it can for the amateur artist and even the pros use this app for certain tasks. You also have links to the community thats important for your confidence and Adobe includes enough lerning materials to keep you interested and motivated. I also have Sketch and Draw which are great fun4☆s

I recently got a 9.7 in iPad to use for design and illustration. I initially thought I would primarily use Procreate for design, however while looking up Illustrator, I came across this adobe app. I am amazed by the seamless designs, the personalization, the easy integration and transfer capabilities from this app, to Adobe Capture, to sending the design vectors straight to illustrator on my computer within seconds! This is a High quality app that any designer should integrate into their design process. One recommendation: what I like about Procreate over this app is the variety of brush sets, the fine alterations you can make on brushes, and overall design capabilities. If Adobe Draw can get closer to ProCreate on that level, there would be absolutely no need for me to use ProCreate at all. Other option: work with ProCreate to easily transfer designs as vectors into Adobe applications.

This was my most favourite app for drawing but, since i got my galaxy note 10 lite i doesn't work properly with the s-pen. The app keeps crashing. But i can draw with hand no problem. Can't draw with the pen. Then i checked other drawing app to see if there is anything wrong with my pen or phone. I ran on every app smoothly. Very disappointed, cause i want to use this app.
  • Starts off great, becomes completely unusable over time Mar 27, 2019

I’ve been using this app for about a week now, and I have to say, after growing accustomed to the layout and gestures, I’d really been enjoying it. I made some stuff I was really happy with, and if all had stayed as it was, this would be a 5 star review. However, a few days ago, the app gradually started to have issues, in that it began freezing up every 10 seconds or so, for about 3 seconds every time. To be clear, I have a new iPhone 8 and a new iPad both of which are having this issue. It does it even when you’re doing absolutely nothing in the app, or when you’re drawing, or resizing or pulling up a menu. It just happens inconsistently, and for seemingly no reason. I’ve looked it up online, emailed adobe, and even gone as far as deleting all but 6 simple pieces of my art and bought extra memory for a small price each month. Nothing has improved the problem, I haven’t had a response yet from adobe, and it makes it nearly impossible to complete anything unless you’re content with the program stopping you half way through your pen strokes to have a think every so often. Extremely frustrated and disappointed.
  • Wanted to love it... Oct 3, 2020

I wanted to love this app because I love the Adobe Creative Suite, but there are just way too many issues when trying to run on my brand new iPad Pro. I can't believe this has a 4.7. The gesture to undo is two fingers swiped to the left... Okay, that's a little weird, since every other app I use is either two fingers tapped or three fingers swiped to the left, but okay. But in order to move around the canvas, you also use two fingers. So good luck trying to move around, you'll be undoing like crazy. And since there's no way to turn off drawing with fingers (so that only the Pencil is recognized), there have been a LOT of times where I tried to move left and it undid something, so I tried to redo it but instead the app decided I was trying to draw... so now I can't redo what I never wanted to undo in the first place, and have to manually redo work. This is such a ridiculous oversight it makes me wonder if the app was ever tested. On top of all that, it's also super laggy on my brand new iPad Pro, so I'm not sure what that's about. I spend a lot of time drawing a stroke and then sitting back and waiting for my work to decide to show on the screen... I expected so much more from an Adobe app.

Worked fine until switched to Android and now unuseable - I'm a longtime user, and pay for a monthly adobe subscription, but always used Draw for my art. I recently had to switch to Android from IOS and cannot download a version of Draw later than 11 months old on my android tablet, yet ISO updated last week. The lag is awful and pan/rotate nonfunctional. No option to use the other Adobe drawing apps as they are IOS only. Extremely frustrated and now behind on work, please give us the update!
  • Has many issues. Apr 4, 2020

    By Carrilynnnn
In the beginning, it used to be good and quite easy to draw. It’s various markers and features enabled to draw easily. However, quite recently, it started to freeze quite often. Even if I zoom a little, it would freeze for approximately a minute and a half, and then just as it stopped freezing, it would freeze again. This made it impossible to draw and quite agitating as well. On a drawing which would usually take an hour to complete, I took two hours, because of the glitches and freezing, and as I went to erase the mistakes, it froze again, and erased almost half the drawing. And another issue was that if I left the app, even to reply to a message or simply because I wanted to do something else, it would immediately exit the drawing and I would not be able to undo anything, or make any changes to the previous version of the drawing. I used to love this app, but now I’m starting to loathe it and will learn how to use a different app, if these issues are not fixed. Do not waste your time on this app, because it is just a dead end.

I understand that there is currently no cad app for iPad pro. As a mechanical engineer, I’ve spent many years making my own drawings since it’s faster than trying to explain what I want to a cad operator. I taught graphical communications and descriptive geometry at one university and taught algebra at a different university and am now retired. Having held titles such as chief engineer and engineering and maintenance manager I’ve hired and taught a fair number of engineering students and practicing engineers through my career. I retired as an executive at a medium to large defense contracting company but I still enjoy doing calculations and wish there was a basic cad app for my iPad pro. I have the A9X chip and plenty of memory. A simple app that allows the user to draw lines and input the angle of the line would be great. This app does not seem to offer the basic ability to draw lines at an input angle. Just being able to solve a sum of vectors would be great. Perhaps I’m missing something that this app offers. Anyone who is very familiar with this app might prove me wrong in my assumptions which I would be thankful for. Thx

Im sure that this is useful for sending basic sketches to photoshop, but by itself it is just a worse ms paint with layers. Some problems i had: - panning the view while zoomed in is unresponsive - the undo button is right next to the exit button, making it very easy to lose undo/redo history - no way to edit layer position or size. If you change your mind about something you have to redraw it

To be honest, I'm not sure what happened but suddenly, the screen for this AND sketch jump around. I don't even know how else to explain it. Once I put my stylus to the screen, it twitches and I can't seem to get it to stop. I've uninstalled and reinstalled, I've restarted the computer, cleared the cache... and it was working so well for what I needed. Idk if it's just me but I'm really disappointed that it's no longer working like it did just last week.

  • Amazing App with small hiccups. May 10, 2020

    By TheMusicFriend
I’m a beginner to vector tablet drawing, but quickly learned with this great interface. Props to adobe for making such a sleek and user friendly app for artists and noobs alike. I rated the app only 4 stars because of one pesky glitch that seems to keep cropping up. Occasionally when I’m zoomed in on a segment of my canvas, and am erasing with the eraser tool, the app will become slow or lag or freeze up or just not register my erasing gestures. Backing out to the main page doesn’t fix it either. The only thing that fixes the issue is selecting one or two different tools and either/or drawing and zooming out before returning to erase. It’s a small complaint for an otherwise brilliant app. I hope adobe keeps supporting this free app as it really is a fun and impressive tool.
  • Great app! Sep 16, 2019

    By anartistontiktok
I’ve downloaded a few other drawing apps before and this one is the best free one! I should invest in a pen to draw with and I’ve only been using my finger on my phone screen but I haven’t let that stop me from making super detailed characters. Thanks for such a great free app! My only complaint is I can only zoom out of the largest sized paper so far and it doesn’t allow me to draw anything too large, I’ve only been able to draw a character full body a couple of times and I couldn’t get as much detail as I would like, but, no major complaints at all since it’s free, I only have it on my phone and I don’t have a stylus lol, so that much is really a personal preference, as well as wanting more texture tools to draw with, but again, it’s free (I think?) so I’m content.

I love Adobe Draw, it is awesome. It has taught me lots about drawing, and has all the features I need to improve my photo realistic drawing styles, except for blending tools. I don’t know if it’s just my bad skills, or I just can’t find the right tools, but Adobe Illustrator doesn’t seem to have the tools I need/want to blend my pictures. A paintbrush feature (watercolor and/or dry paint) or a highlighter would probably be sufficient for that. Also, the discover section could use a search button. I would like to be able to search for certain drawings, instead of just having to scroll and hope I find it. That’s all the suggestions I have right now, Thank you Adobe Illustrator Draw!
  • 4 out of 5 stars for one simple reason Jul 22, 2018

    By narashibear
I would be debilitated without this program. I rely on it for many uses ranging from professional to personal. I have given it 4 stars instead of 5 because you are REQUIRED to purchase an Illustrator subscription in order to save your work as anything other than a jpeg, making this program not free after all. For professional use, you likely already have the program and this is just another tool to add to your stock. On the other hand, if I were strictly a personal/pastime user, it would be very disheartening not being able to save in different formats based on my personal use. But all in all I truly do love this program. It is my go-to vector drawing app.

For what i need this app is amazing. Like others, i wish there was a blending/smudging/blur tool. But with enough time and key stroke placement it does the job well enough. I wish we could add brushes though! Also, can we maybe be given the option to customize the layout more!? I’ve messed up so many layers because they’re right on the right hand side...where i accidentally switch to another layer without noticing and mess things up. I like being to able to quickly switch between brushes and colors but i have to make the controls all disappear to avoid that happening and it’s crazy annoying! It pains me to give 4 stars....because really it’s an amazing amazing tool to have. But it is also such a drag to use! I know i have to use this because of the superb quality so I just accept my fate...but my pieces take a lot longer to finish and frankly I lose all motivation when battling an app that is counterintuitive.

As an artist, it's really easy to use and is really fun to learn with, BUT my main concern is how it doesn't let you blend the colours together. It'd be really helpful if I was able to blend the colours together instead of having them (the colours) just sat next to each other, unblended. Overall, amazing app

Awesome and brings me joy but this is also a tiny warning for kids like me! So before u get this app just be warned u NEED A EMAIL account. For me this was not an issue lol 😂 but I know some kids don’t have a email account so I just wanted to say. But I have a given email account my parents gave me. Also another thing I would like to point out is that I had to lie about my age because I was born 2008 and when I put it in it said I was too young 😭 but another thing to watch out for it askes you for your first name, your last name, and your date of birth!!! This is unacceptable and I put a fake name and a fake date of birth cuz I didn’t want a stupid drawing app to know my personal info! Another thing is it askes you where u live! I think just asking for an email is enough! 😒 ugh anyways this app is the go too when I’m bored

I've been using Adobe Illustrator for 2 years now and I really love this app compared to other illustrators. I'm just hoping we can get an airbrush or oil paint brush to make painting faster!.
  • I love it but there’s two problems Dec 1, 2020

    By okjgfdgij
So the first one is there’s no help button in the settings. How am I supposed to let you know that there’s a bug that needs fixing or I need basic information about the app. The second one is there is a problem with uploading photos to a project. I was going to find the help menu and figure out what to do from there but apparently you don’t have one so I’ll let you know from here. It’s worked great up until now. I cannot upload any photo from my phone onto the app to work on a project, the only way I can get a picture is to either take one, which isn’t possible for what I need to do, or upload it to an app as a file. And I just tried the latter and let me tell you it wasn’t great. The quality of the photo dropped tremendously and it’s all pixilated. And it would’ve been so much easier to upload it from my phone. I’m pretty sure it’s either a bug with the app or it’s just a me problem. But you need to fix the first problem. You need to have a help menu and have some frequently asked question and answers. And probably a place where people can ask you those questions. It’s a great app apart from these two issues.

it's not horrible, but.

  • Adobe, get rid of the ruler Mar 30, 2018

    By rich_blondes
It is so annoying to have to maneuver the ruler around , which is not easy and you get marks in parts that you didn’t plan. It is very simple and Sketch Club, and Autodesk both have the option of making straight lines . It is annoying because you are connected to Adobe capture shapes, but the ruler is just stupid, messy and there is a very simple cure that every other drawing app has. But your connected to my Creative Cloud library, and I use SketchClub to render architecture straight lines. Then have to go to this app for my capture shapes library. I hate that you cant just decide straight lines, for once please listen, and if the ruler is needed for something else, keep it but every time I try your mobile apps their is always something, better and it’s annoying that you can’t get the basics down, please check out your mobile apps competition. Capture is probably the only app that is original and innovative. This ruler is a very idiotic, feature that never wants to move. OPTION DRAW STRAIGHT LINES OR FREEHAND
  • You don’t tell me what I can use cause of my age Apr 9, 2019

By chicken nuggets rule the world
Look you can’t tell me I can’t use this app or create a account because I’m not at the right age look people I’m trying to practice drawing to get better and I don’t always have a piece of paper to pull out and draw on and I’m trying to get into art to make it as my career so can you respect that and tell me oh you can make a account because of community guide lines oh well I’m going to make one if I want to so let me make a account because it’s just dumb you can’t let a person a child that knows the right and wrongs so can you please fix that because it’s just rude to tell people what they can and can’t do please make it to where all people can use the app please I want to have fun by drawing and learning new things and you are just stopping me from doing what I want to do so please allow all ages to make a account thank you taking time to read this is you did please fix this.

A very well made free service, but during the last week the app has crashed countless times resulting in my project being ruined.. Strongly recommended saving very often and create backups!!! ... Or use an app that doesn't crash and delete your work.
  • Suggestions for improvement May 11, 2018

    By laughbee
I enjoy using the app, but it’s still frustrating at times. They need to fix the palm/fingers creating unwanted marks when touching the screen or zooming in or out (i have Draw with Current Brush selected but it still picks up my fingers when I zoom out etc). Def need no limit on layers, also they need to add a gesture where I can select an object by holding the pencil over it, Ps has that select current layer option. If I have 20 identical objects as in a pattern it’s insane looking for the one I want to move. Also, I wish if I selected one color it got attributed to all the brushes, I’m using several brushes drawing one object and have to manually change colors when I pick a different one. Hope the Adobe team tweaks the app more and of course it’d be amazing if they had custom brush support! But then people won’t pay for Ai, right?

I thought this app will be like the PC version of the Illustrator but this is an entirely different app lacking so many features from the PC version. This is sooo disappointing I thought I might be able to work cross platform with this app. Hope you add some features to open .ai files of the PC illustrator.
  • Starts off great, becomes completely unusable over time Mar 27, 2019

    By SpikeMitchell

This app is ok. But noting great, its the best option I have found for my android tablet however I can't open it currently as it won't load properly. Also I cannot find a way to save any drawings in high quality.

Not what I was expecting. I used Adobe Illustrator in college back in 2012 and was impressed by all the tools that I could use to edit my lines. This draw app is leaps and bounds away from what I remember illustrator being
  • Wanted to love it... Oct 3, 2020

    By progresscity

Why can't android users get the same features like those on iOS. Please include timelapse feature in android too. You said you are trying for it from 2017. But still now I can't see timelapse feature in android version 🥺 please add full screen support for notched phones.

App crashes every single time, causinf many works to not be saved correctly. Can't create enough layers (only about 20 or so) to be able to go back when needing to fix things.

Crashes, bugged, lag, only some of the few. Just like the other adobe, if you dont want to lose your hair after hours and hours of work, then dont bother. On the other hand it had the best interface among all.. no doubt.. BUT.. the save section? Kaput!
  • Yes... but no. Dec 17, 2017

    By Izi✌🏻
YES, this app can help you create amazing things, IF you can figure out how to work the freaking thing. Congratulations and my applause to whoever can work the controls, but in my case, it seems absolutely impossible. I have created pieces that I am quite proud of, but after spending hours on end working on a piece it would always end up being all for nothing due to a lack of one single detail, weather that be the sizing or accidentally pressing something that seems irreversible because my non-artistic and non-technologicaly capable brain can’t figure out how to control and complete my artwork. The list goes on, and I’m sorry to whoever has faces the same frustrating and tragic ending as I have; which is why I have finally come to the conclusion to delete this stupid app, along with my courage to keep trying. For some it has and will be smooth sailing on the ocean of creativity and excitement of finishing a new masterpiece, BUT for my countless others who I have known and have faced the same sorrowful ending, such as myself, it has been a rough and challenging swim to shore.
