Writing a review only because of the comical way they asked for one. Well played. Edit: crazy that there are so few reviews. I guess I’ll write a real one. This game is great. Always loved old school rpgs but have played basically all of them and hearing the same story over and over makes them unfun. Having a new (old?) rpg with a fresh new story is amazing to me. The job plates are really cool and allow you a great amount of customization to your characters. I’m playing in hard which was kinda a kick in the balls really early in but a bit of grinding in the first cave mellowed it out really quickly. Doesn’t help that I skipped all the tutorials and by the time I started using job plates I already had 100+ ep. Dragonite job is awesome, high physical damage combined with damage magic. Way outclasses the old red mage. And it’s just cooler bc dragons. Story is interesting and dialog is funny. Will make any changes when I beat the game.

Great story! A bit frustrating with all the tiles you pick up, but on the bright side you never go without options to upgrade.
  • Great game, terrible controls Aug 1, 2020

I am an old-school gamer, so I love apps like this. I also like playing these with a set of controls that I fine usable. So, I never did like the “tap to move here” idea, it just makes things too tough - I get more control with a real joypad. There actually IS a real joypad in this game, but it is stuck in the middle of the screen! I have to hold my ipad while playing, and it becomes difficult to do that if I have to stretch my hand across to the middle of the screen the whole time. How hard would it have been to put the joypad on the LEFT? I already know the answer: not very hard at all, because Kemco does this for most of their other games. This one problem makes the game harder to play and less enjoyable. I hope they fix this before I finish playing. I love old-school RPGs too much to not play this one all the way through, but I am really unhappy about this and hope they fix it in the future for other games.

Pretty good old-school style jrpg. Really enjoy the plate character development

Usually don’t leave reviews but the comedic way that it asked for one had me hook line and sinker really enjoying the game so far really nice to have a new rpg to put time into the story so far has kept me enraptured and I’ve really enjoyed the plate system for the job advancements and overall boosting of the stats. This game was very much worth the purchase and I don’t regret it at all the thank you very much for making this game appreciate the time and effort it must have took. Looking forward to the rest of the game!!😊

A quirky throwback to the 8-bit era. A little more instruction could be nice but isn't quite necessary. Great characters with fun dialog. Game play is what you would expect. Very good music with a nice atmosphere.

Haven’t played a good rpg like this in ages. So far doesn’t seem to be pay to win yes there are in game purchases but honestly the premium version worth the 5$ 99% of the games claiming to be rpg are dumb city games with no thought or real creativity put into them this game is on tier with the old final fantasy games.

Great game. I was worried about the in app purchases stuff detracting from the game but the paid version is generous with LP and lottery ticket stuff, so it's a great game to buy once and not worry about being nagged to buy more stuff.

Thanks Melvin. You’re a scholar and a gentleman :) You can tell if you’ll like this game from the screenshots, and it plays well and exactly how I hoped it would. Good balance, choices in how to level your characters, and so far the flow has been good as well.

I like the game. I definitely played the free version before I made the big step of purchasing the more expensive one. It's been awhile between games and I'm not really sure if there really is that much of a difference except that I haven't spent as much money on this version as I did the other one.

  • Good Classic RPG Nov 24, 2018

    By Sir Kwinkles
For an iPhone game it’s really good. It’s just the classic RPG I was looking for. My only gripe is that the leveling up using plates could be explained better early on. Other than that, it has a decent story and the dialogue is fun. Worth the money! Oh, and in case you’re worried, the micro transactions in no way impede on the game.
  • Pretty good Apr 18, 2018

Dragon Lapis is a pretty good game for being on a mobile device. It’s in-depth enough to make me want to farm but also not too serious where I would feel overwhelmed. It can be a little corny at times but that’s not a game changer for me.

If you are looking for an rpg with a huge array of classes, and fully customizable stats, Dragon Lapis is the game for you. It is cute, and cheeky, and utterly delightful! :)

Old school turn-based rpg, brings back memories of the golden years with my Nintendo and jolt cola. Story is neat so far, The banter between characters is a nice touch to keep things from getting stale. More to come as I delve deeper in!

The plate system is a fun and unique way of leveling up your character. The characters are fun. The point and click movement auto-pathing is terrible. It frequently paths me through doors or cities. The menu is annoyingly high and in the way.
