  • Buy This Game and Your Life Will be Complete Nov 25, 2018

So, I actually started playing this game even before the full thing had released after a friend had recommended it to me (the game originally ended right after you grow the tree to its fullest height). And that was I think about 5 and a half years ago now. And I can not tell you enough that this game is absolutely incredible, and not a money waster. Deemo is a true masterpiece among games. The visuals are stunning, the music is gorgeous, and the story is beautifully written. The story progression is so well done, as you slowly unravel the mystery of the world you have found yourself in (the ending is going to leave you a changed person. And no, that is not an over statement), all while you get to play beautiful scores that feel like people put real heart into them. And there is so much free content, let alone all of the albums you can buy. Each piano piece you play comes with wonderfully drawn art. I guess you could call it the music cover art? And GOOD LORD just the game itself is a ton of fun to play. So, even if you don’t care about story in anyway shape or form, if like or love rhythm games, BUY THIS THING. Thanks for reading, if you got this far, and I really do hope you get this game. You will not regret it. Trust me.

It's a really good game in my opinion. I love all the song choices and the story. The art is really cute too. I never knew that a music game would make me so happy and emotional. I really love some songs like "Waltz in devils playground" and "I hate to tell you" although, love all of the songs. I would tell other people to play this. I'm so happy this game was made. Thanks for all the hard working people who helped make this game. Also, thank you Rayark for making this lovely game.

This is my favorite game, of all time, ever. I got this game over i think 2 years ago and played it nonstop. The story is amazing and i hope to god that they make a continuation story in the future years. That said the gameplay is phenomenal and the soundtrack is so beautiful that you can get really immersed especially if you have headphones. This game will bring out your competitive side after you feel like youve gotten as good as possible you can always do better and the amazing people at Rayark have kept adding new content to the game so that there is never a dull moment. I have purchased most all of the DLC and have not regretted it. Each album is beautifully composed and most are extremely fun and fast paced. I have played Cytus, and CytusII, and VOEZ, but nothing gives you the absolute rush that Deemo does. The concept art in the game is the best ive seen in any game and i could go on and on about this game. I will be going to college to become a software engineer and it would be a dream to work with Rayark in the future. These developers have shown they really care about the quality of games they release and deserve the praise they get from us as a player community. <3

This game is incredible. By far my favourite game of its kind due to the high quality unique music, the stunning visuals and art, and the always compelling storyline. I've been playing Deemo since I first started college four years ago and have been playing it since. I listen to the music regularly, have been inspired to learn some of the songs on piano because of this game, and is in general a relaxing and fun game to play when I'm bored. By far one of the best apps I have on my phone. Period.

  • Amazing game! Easily recommended. Nov 22, 2019

    By Gilby35
I received this game free because of their anniversary special. I’d say that this game would be perfect if it was always free, although usually there is a 3 dollars paywall normally. Usually I don’t care about the stories in these kinds of games, but when the developers try to attempt a good story, I want them to look at this game, the story is great, especially for a rhythm game. I had the Nintendo Switch version before getting the app, but all of the songs I saw on that version were pretty good. If you only buy the main game, you can keep the game pretty fresh, but only if you play every song given to you. But if your willing to throw some money at this game, then do that, especially if you get the Forgotten Hourglass DLC, because it adds a lot of different things to do, but it gets boring to progress if you don’t have new songs to play. Also, keep in mind that even if you are ok with the amount of songs you get to complete the DLC, the more you play a song, the less the tree will grow, making it very hard to progress. Despite the negatives, this is a very good game, and I recommend it to everyone who mentions rhythm games.

  • Ridiculous difficulty Feb 27, 2020

    By Alice Valkyrie
I’ve played several similar music/rhythm games before (on mobile, console and PC and I also play piano irl) and this is the only one I’ve ever encountered has a medium mode that is so difficult most songs are unplayable. So I haven’t even attempted the more difficult modes. And the easy mode is way too easy. So no mode is satisfying for me. And even though I’ve calibrated it multiple times, the notes still don’t seem to sync properly. Furthermore, even though I haven’t gotten too far into the game (due to finding the gameplay so unsatisfying) there seems to be little to no story, and there doesn’t seem to be that much content in the base game either. But it gets two stars instead of one due to me not being able to get that far into it. Maybe the story materializes at some point, but the easy gameplay is so mind-numbing and the medium gameplay so ridiculously hard that I’m not willing to continue unless this game is rebalanced and syncing issues are fixed. I kind of regret spending money on it, but I’m at least glad I didn’t pay for any of the add on packs.

I used to absolutely love Deemo and even spent probably around $50 on it over time for the individual albums, but now they have it to where you have to buy entire bookshelves, which is far more than I'm willing or able to spend in one sitting for a mobile game. Even the bookshelves I already own albums on are full price. Sadly, this isn't a game I can enjoy like I used to and I've beaten the storyline twice. I was wanting to get back into it, but I just can't now.

The game is beautiful, sounds great and is a fresh take on the genre. However, the calibration is horrible. I've spent about an hour trying to use the calibration to match up the sound with the tracks. No matter my settings, some notes appear late, and some early relative to the tracks. Furthermore, scoring doesn't consistently match the "beat line" timing. Sometimes you will get points tapping early, sometimes late and sometimes when expected. I really wanted to play this, but it needs a fix.

  • If You Buy It - You Better Keep It On Your Device! Jan 28, 2020

I was one of the first to purchase this game when it was introduced. I played often, but eventually my time had to be spent on other, more important things. So after a while, I removed it from my device. Now I have time to play again, so I downloaded this and attempted to play. The game was basically a hollow shell and all the space for songs were empty. I contacted the Developer and asked what I needed to do to play again and was basically told; ‘sorry, but the game changed while you weren’t playing and there’s nothing we can do to restore the game as you knew it’. How disheartening is that?! Anyway, I still gave them two stars. I feel they only deserve one star for the lack of consideration they showed me (especially as I not only bought the game early, but also recommended it to many of my friends). But I gave an extra star because high quality music games (once amongst the most popular* games you could play on iOS devices) are now few and far between. There was a time when having the ability to play certain music games (as some were only available on an iOS device) made owning an iPhone an enviable experience. *Rock Band 1 & 2, Guitar Hero & Guitar Hero Live, Tap Tap Revenge (8 Different Versions), Guitar Rock Tour 1 & 2, Lyric Legend 1 & 2 ... I could go on and on

  1. Beautiful hand-drawn art and amazing storytelling paired with haunting piano music will keep you enthralled until the end
  2. Over 220 songs in different genres: work your way through them to help advance the storyline
  3. Easy one-tap share function lets you show your friends and fam on social media where you stand as you progress through the game

  • Fun but frustrating Dec 31, 2017

This game peaked my interest by including a wide variety of fun songs and challenging rhythms and setting it all to a wonderful, albeit minimal, storyline. Don’t get me wrong, Deemo is a wonderful game and I don’t regret buying it. That being said, as I’ve gotten further along in the game, my desire as a completionist to finish songs with full “charming” combos has brought about a small sense of loathing. The game is waaaaay too finicky about what counts as a charming note or not, especially considering it doesn’t include a musical staff and it doesn’t count measures. You can only fully complete a song through either experimenting with timing, fully memorizing the song by playing it over and over, or by somehow managing to perfectly set your synchronization (the settings there are awful and confusing). If you don’t care about charming and just enjoy getting full combos, that’s still perfectly doable for the average driven player. However, you have to go the extra 500 miles (or be extremely talented/lucky) to even have a chance with charming. Still a great game, sorry if this review/essay makes it sound otherwise.

I would really like to continue with the games story so please fix this. (The game was just fine a day ago, where nothing was laggy nor faced this Issue before. I love this game so much, and I was finally willing to buy the full version, but to my surprise now the full version is completely free! Although since I was already willing to buy something, I wanted to buy an album, but I was disappointed that they removed the option to buy individual albums. Rayark, please, I don't have enough money to buy the bundles, and I want albums from different bundles, I want to give you money, but this method of marketing isn't letting me do it.

I was initially sceptical because of this anomaly that the rating is. It's very high for a mobile game. It turns out that this game is beautiful and the rating perfectly reflects the quality of this game. I'm still a bit confused how this game has such a good rating, but I'm sure as I keep on playing that I'll fully understand.

  • What happened to this game?!? Feb 23, 2019

    By Tru_Poet89
Hi, I used to play this when it first came out on the App Store and absolutely loved the game. I loved the way you felt like you were playing the song yourself and loved the music so much, I bought some of the songs on iTunes. I decided to reinstall the game on my new phone and got to playing it. This version is nothing like the original that hit the App Store a few years ago. The songs play themselves and hitting the notes throws off the whole song. Nothing matches up like it should and I’m disappointed. I fell in love with this game, it’s concept, and the music for the way it all fit together so smoothly. Now, I don’t know anymore. The off set key notes ruins the music’s feel and atmosphere. Thank you for your time.

The game looked like it had lots of potential, because I love osu!Mania but this game just isn’t for me. First off, all of the songs are just piano type music, which i personally think is a bit boring. But my main problem is the fact that the level design isn’t very fun. Lots of random uneven spamming in the harder levels and that gets annoying real fast. Most levels just feel like they don’t even sync to the music. My last problem is how slow the menu screen is.

I’m very frustrated as I don’t normally spend money on apps, but took a risk on this one. It took forever to download, and when it did, it kept telling me to restore my purchase. There was a faulty button that I was supposed to be able to press to do that, but all it did was make a noise. Then after doing some research I found a review that said you could fix it in the settings. I have not been able to figure it out. A paid app should not be so complicated to play. I feel robbed because I paid money for a game I can’t play. 😒😒😒
