I've tried several astronomy apps. So far, I've found this the most complete and accurate of the free apps I've tried. I haven't tried any of the paid options. (I have not been too active with my astronomy interest lately. If I get back into it, I would definitely consider paying for the extras.) I've used the Windows desktop version and enjoyed it for years. It came with the nice telescope my in-laws bought my son. The desktop and Android versions are wonderful apps. I definitely recommend!

After having been contacted by the developers, My initial complaint has been addressed. While I always felt this sky-mapping app was beautiful, I became quickly frustrated with not being able to use the phone gyroscope. This is now fixed as you just need to tap the compass icon below the screen, which I honestly never noticed in the past. I'll say it was an oversight, and not paying attention. Now, point, aim, and see parts of what you want to see in the sky on your screen effortlessly. A+

Update: Finally got the calibration to work! Love it so far. Calibration stuck at 50% and hasn't moved. I paid for the premium version of this app while living in Alaska. But I haven't been able to calibrate it. I thought it was just my location. But I have since moved and traveled through a whole bunch of states, trying to calibrate it as I go but it hasn't been able to get pass 50%. Am I doing something wrong? I have reset the settings every time I open the app. I have a Samsung Note 9.

I am really enjoying this app. The Free edition is fine for me as I don't have a telescope nor use of one. I do have a love of of astronomy. I find myself checking the weather for the nightky forecast hoping for a cloudless night sky. Even then you can still use the app, you just can't see the nearer ones with the naked eye. The settings for Location have to be reset occasionally but very easy to do. Great app for novice users or kids

Outstanding!! Truly wonderful eye candy and awesome user interface. It'll take you where no person has gone before. They've included plenty of scientific space information at the tap of your finger. You really should download it and be impressed. The ONLY reason it didn't get 5 stars is that the magnet in my phone case entirely disrupts the compass calibration. I know, it's the fault of my case and I'm being selfish, pouting, entitled, but I like case, I'd give it 6 stars if not for that, ha.

Surprisingly easy to use , definitely unique in it's abilities, easy to use and understand UI . The only thing I think this app can add is altitude and speed of passing satellites but otherwise very thorough information and I'm using only the free version . This app is 200% worth the upgrade for the additional cost as well . This app is a MUST HAVE for anyone from experts to novices like me . This app will feed your excitement of learning what's overhead . Get it !!!! You won't regret it,ever!!!

I have used the free PC based version of this for many years. Great program. This android version works much the same way but targeted at a smart phone UI. It has a calendar function to see upcoming events in the coming days which is really handy. You can see a list of thing happening just tonight including the satelight passes. There is tons of stars in the database. It is a mature program.

Great app. The only issue I've had is the function for pointing up to the sky to see where things are, doesn't work properly. Sometimes it will let me and other times it won't. In order to reset the settings for this function are in advanced settings and you either have to subscribe to a free trial or pay for the app 19.99. I don't see how that's fair.

It's just not a good as the desktop version. There are so many options in the desktop version; turn off satellites, update and see all known exoplanets, see a billion different star lines, etc. The ability to turn off and on different objects is really helpful (and the plug-ins make it so you spend your whole life there). The app is so simple in comparison that it functionally doesn't feel like Stellarium. I understand why, but it would be nice to be able to turn on and off objects.

Inaccurate when pointing phone up. When I first downloaded the app I was sitting outside a bigger town waiting for a family member and everything was great. When I got home to my smaller town (13,000 people) everything is way off. Can't point directly at a constellation or a planet, it's all off to the upper left a bit. Super annoying, glad I didn't upgrade to the paid version.
