This game is a lot better than the original but you still get the same feeling of enjoyment while you play it with the fun new characters and the monsters all have a fun and goofy look ,from an oversized pig to a celestial gladiator to have some cool looking boss fights or have super sayin soda junkies that look epic and goofy but not so goofy where it’s unnecessary. And the small details like the look of the tavern when you upgrade the interior and the battle points you can get they can auto run stages you have already completed and the items in the blacksmith shop where you can craft thing’s that you can only get from there. And the music is totally bogus which really gives the game the great retro fell as if your playing Pac-Man of Tetris. this Is truly a game for the books of fame or what not and if you don’t believe me try it out it’s free after all unlike the first one. So have fun screw around and maybe fight a skeleton with a trumpet.

The good news is : this is a decent game that WILL NOT try to get all your $. There's in-app purchases. They are optionnal, but will cost you under 20$ if you want to jump-start/speed boost. You jump from a "dimension" to another. In each you got to beat a 100-floors dungeon that gets 100 floors longer in each dimension. ( 100 > 200 > 300 > 400... ) The problem is, if you play your cards right, you quickly get powerfull enough that once you reach a new "dimension", you can send your team in the dungeon, activate automatic mode, and go do something else. Cook, work, eat... your phone will need 1+hour alone, by itself, to automatically do most of the job. Kind of get pretty boring very quickly. (as I write this, my phone has been alone for 45 minutes and automatically did floors 1 to 450 (and still going) of dimension #6 (600 floors).... Meh. Most of the rest (presentation, graphics, novelty, etc...) are awesome.

I don’t usually write reviews but I have to give credit where it’s due This game is extremely fun, and very successful with its auto battling use. The difficulty progression is well balanced where you might be over powered enough to skip a 100 levels or so but losing your top tier gear to progress the story is used well to rebalance you each dimension. Most characters are each useful in a unique way ( I havnt found much use for mystic yet honestly) and gain abilities as they level up so strategy’s are always evolving. Crazy improvement over the original soda dungeon which was also a hit for me. Love the bits of dialogue, it’s not too much but it’s quippy and tight and manages to give the world some character without really slowing anything down. Not done with it, but already looking forward to future updates that add content. Oh and the music for the kitchen fight levels. Absolutely perfect. Great job guys

Very good game with engaging storyline, however after each dimension it gets tedious to watch your team of 6 soda junkies beat 300 levels, I think that the first battle credit run in a dimension should be able to unlock higher levels so I don't have to sit and watch them for half an hour, bored as heck

  • Great Addition to Soda Dungeon Jul 9, 2020

Soda Dungeon 2 is an app that I have been anticipating for a while now. However, as with all apps, I had my doubts. Usually remakes are simply adding one or two features and are created to steal money from users through ridiculous in app purchases. This is not the case with Soda Dungeon 2. Soda dungeon was a cult classic and Soda Dungeon takes that legacy and multiplies it 100 fold. Not only is the art, gameplay, and styles the same, but the creators managed to expand a simple concept into something that is multidimensional. If you have not played Soda Dungeon, jumping into Soda Dungeon 2 is completely fine, as the developers have taken the time to create this game for all audiences. This game is great due to its immense detail, from the pixel art to the new Ambush mechanics. Soda dungeon 2 certainty is not a disappointment, and deserves all of the hype.

Very grindy and very slow progress. Not worth playing this game if you don't buy the starter package, 6 dollars+tax. (Trust me) Gold farming is extremely slow. A lot of new content. Monsters look amazing! Lot of customizations and even a town building mode. Soda Dungeon 1 was so good that I'm gonna give 2 a chance. Unfortunately will cost me $6.70 though. And yes. The gold farm grind is that bad. Or the shop items are just too expensive.

The story in this game is utter garbage compared to the first game. Now it just feels like the player is the punchline of a very bad joke on the standard rpg formula. You didn’t even come up with anything new (Spoiler warning) The dark lords being fused into one evil dark lord is the exact same story we played in SD1, but you just copied and pasted that concept on the new game, only you made the bosses lame and stupid instead of actually making them remotely imposing. And 3 of the bosses (Dark Lady, Darker Lord, Darkest Lord) are just recolors of the first boss with mediocre movesets. At least the first game forces you to use nurses to heal that one boss since it’s undead, instead of this game letting idiots try to use 6 darkmages like that’s not stupid. This needs a lot of work, and maybe even a little bit of post-game content. Like for example, where is our lair of despair?

Boring with repetitive content. Turns into a major grind by dimension 8 since you have to out DPS a boss that spams 2.5k heals. Avoid.

I really enjoyed playing through Soda Dungeon and when I first saw the previews for Soda Dungeon 2, I had to pre order it. The dedication you guys have to these games are astounding and I cant wait to see what you guys come up with next. The music slaps too. My favorite was the Kitchen theme. The designs and new items are fun too!! I did notice a slight button delay when selling items. Keep up the good work!!

  • Fantastic Game! Jul 12, 2020

I played the original soda dungeon a few years back, after looking at the game, I thought it looked cool, and gave it a download. What a great idea that was. The game had lots of content, the ability to remove ads with coins, with not much grinding, and it was an overall great time. When I heard about a sequel I was excited, but skeptical. Was this next game going to live up to its predecessor? So I downloaded this game when it came out, and on steam, played it a bit.. and I can say, this game for sure lives up to the hype! It adds new aspects and improves upon aspects of the previous game, and maintains the non-intrusive IAP, and the ability to remove adds with coins, permanently. So if you are looking for a fun game to play and your bored, definitely give this one a download!

  • A Light For Mobile Games Sep 24, 2020

This game is a God send and we all needed a great mobile game that treats the players correctly and this game nailed it! I’ve always been a fan of rouge-like RPG’s and this has to be one of my top favorites. The grinding in this game isn’t that tedious when it comes to grinding, but there is a reason why I’m giving it 4/5 stars. The end game after dimension 10 isn’t perfect. What I mean is, grinding for the legendary gear doesn’t feel all that much powerful from the rare gear. It pretty much doubles the damage but there’s nothing much else that’s special that makes it legendary. Also if it does t have a gem socket, it’s pretty much useless to me, in my opinion. Other than this minor inconvenience, this game is more than a great game.

WHAT? NO GREEDY DEVELOPERS???????? THANK YOU. You have the option to SAVE UP IN GAME MONEY to purchase certain items that you can usually ONLY buy in games. This is a masterpiece done right. Thank you keep it that way. ALSO THE ADS ARENT ANNOYING THANK GODDDDDD I’m a huge fan of the first and this one lives up to its name!!!! I hope there will be like pvp or something one day (By the way, I will be spending money sometime on this game in the future I just like to enjoy free to play as much as I can :)) edit: Once you pass the main story line there’s no point in playing, maybe add in multiplayer or something so there’s a point to still grind? Otherwise I might delete the game soon, the charm was fantastic, but it looses it when you’ve done everything

  • It’s Okay. Aug 24, 2020

I really enjoyed the first game and hearing about the second I was pretty excited so when I finally downloaded the game and played it for the first few minutes... I was both happy and disappointed. I liked it because of all the new aspects that were added like having a team of six, the new music for every different area, all the new creatures and bosses,But in my opinion it doesn’t measure up to the OG and I know that’s hard but I think lots of the new aspects like crafting and different buildings were all introduced really fast and so after playing for (note) only and hour I’ve come to the conclusion... It’s okay not as good as the OG, but it’s pretty alright needs a little work though.

  • Pretty good but has some problems Aug 27, 2020

    By rentobrento79
Though I do enjoy this game a lot it does have some bugs. I have noticed that I never get bottle caps when I go into another dimension even though my brother get them whenever he goes into another one. I also am unable to use the bug report option in the menu. And I think that some of the tavern upgrades are very overpriced with some being worth 500 million coins when getting even 1 million is difficult. Though I think the overall design of the game is very good, it still has some problems that need to be fixed.

Needs an inventory screen, where you can easily check (single click display/view of all relevant!) on equipment & material counts! Usually I am no big fan of simple games with little interaction, but this is charming enough to play for a while. Though only available in very basic forms, it has all the important RPG-features: Job-classes, skills, development, equipment, combat & exploration. The retro graphics are of good quality either, and the size of the application is also very acceptable..

  • It’s okay Dec 9, 2020

It’s an okay game in my opinion however it doesn’t have the same feel or look as the original like the hit and crit sounds are so bland in this game while in the original when you hit a crit it was amazing the new mechanics are also really weird without needing to be and the music is the absolute worst aspect of the game in the original soda dungeon every area got different music and you could warp to any level at anytime after unlocking the wizard but in this you need to go to warrior level? But I digress it’s an okay game if it was the original and if the original soda dungeon was this game it would be a lot better however the mechanics of the game the music and the designs of this sequel are a bit lackluster compared to the original (I also say this with having over 300 hours in the original soda dungeon. But otherwise okay game not worthy of being considered a sequel though.

Very buggy, especially the scripts. Unfortunately it lacks depth so enjoyment is lost after an hour or two. Reasonable options if you'd like to pay.
